View 0 RepliesThe font list in office programs is very lengthy. So, following instructions I used the HIDE option in the Font Control Panel to hide many of the fonts I do not use. I would have imagined that Microsoft divisions, like Office, would operate with the user's actions in the Control Panel. Apparently not.
View 1 Replies View RelatedYesterday I made one folder hidden in my F:/ drive. Today I want to un-hide it. I went to "Folder and Search Options" >> View Tab and then "Show hidden files and folders". Then I applied and OK the changes. Still I don't see my hidden file. The F:/ drive shows that I have 7GB of data in it. But it shows a folder of 98MB only.

View 0 Replies View RelatedI downloaded HP's Smart Web Printing software but the icon that is supposed to appear on the IE tool bar in order to start the program does not appear, so I cannot use the program. What does appear is an icon whose balloon says it can be used to make the start icon appear, but it doesn't have any effect. I'm using a Sony VAIO 64-bit Windows 7 laptop with Internet Explorer 8. The HP program sounds great and I have good use for it, but so far I haven't been able to find a clue at HP or Microsoft's support sites. I've tried reinstallation twice with the same result.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm putting together a slide show of 3D images that I want to show on my TV next week when we have company.I would like the images to stay on the screen a little longer without having to actually create a slide show in some special application like Premiere.
The Slide Show function in Explorer works great if I can control the timing.
just completed a first-time new Windows 7 PC build. Successful installation of Windows 7 Pro on WD 600GB 10000 system drive. Went back and installed 4 additional HDD. (2) WD Caviar Black 1TB 7200 RPM and (2) WD Caviar 7200 500GB HDD from XP system that were used for storage.
BIOS sees all HDDs, but are not viewable in Disk Management.
System Specs:
Antec Nine Hundred
ASUS P6X58D-E MOBO
[Code].....
However, only three are visible in Disk Management. Missing (1) WD 500GB (previously used on WinXP system) and (1) new WD 1T.
I was using my desktop like normal then an error came up saying that there was a hdd failure, and that i needed to scan for errors. all my files disappeared and only this error would come up. There would be hundreds of the same msg spamed on my screen. I scaned my hdd for errors using my Bios/Advanced options and no errors came up. I decided to take out the hdd and put it into my External Hdd bay to hook up to my laptop to extract the data off it.When i hooked it up to my laptop it showed up empty. I went into folder options and clicked on show hidden files and folders. Everything came up but it was grey/transparent. I then copied the files to another hdd for backup.
Then i formatted the hdd and put on a fresh new OS. Id like to mention i have a second internal drive that i use for backups but it wasnt backed up recently when this issue happen so i had to take out the main drive and use it as an external to back up onto another external drive.so then when i click on my second internal drive after the reinstall of the new OS it shows empty i have to go in and show hidden files and folders.. now they show again transparent. also i plug in my external to get the recent back up and all those files are still transparent when i move them to my desktop that is freshly OS installed they are still grey/transparent and i have to keep the show hidden files and folders to view them.. so its all my music, pics, documents etc they are all greyed out..i tried to copy my backup IE favs into my new IE browser and they wont show up because they are hiden it shows it copied to the favs folder but in ie i cannot view them if that makes any sense.
I like to have a lot of fonts installed on my computer but I couldn't with my old computer because it slowed down the load up time for my computer. My new computer has the following:
processor brand AMD
processor model A8 Quad-Core
memory 8 GB
hard drive capacity 1000 GB
operating system Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
processor speed 2.5 GHz
front side bus speed 4.0 GT/s
memory speed PC3-10600
memory type DDR3 SD RAM
maximum memory capacity 8 GB
video graphics AMD Radeon HD 6550D integrated graphics with up to 4089MB shared memory
audio hardware integrated audio, 6 speaker configurable
model name Pavilion p7-1225
brand name HP
manufacturer Hewlett-Packard
Am I going to be able to install a lot of fonts with this setup without slowing down my computer? If I can, is there a limit of how many I could install without running into a slower computer boot up?
every time i try to download them into my font folder, they dont show up in psp7.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm moving from an XP machine to a Windows 7 machine. I want to take a bunch of fonts with me, but Explorer in Windows 7 won't let me actually look at what files are in the font directory; all I can see is their characteristics, provided by Control Panel. Will it work to just copy font files into that directory from the XP machine? Or is there some additional voodoo to get them installed?
View 7 Replies View RelatedChanged the appearance of Win7 to make it look like XP. Changed desktop color, active window color etc. Everything worked fine. Except I still have 3d fonts under the icons on the desktop and they look terrible on a solid background. The setting is the font for "icons" - changing the style or size of the font shows up on the desktop. But I can't get rid of the 3d. Difference between a work of art and really ugly.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have two fonts file ( same font, new and older version). I want to edit one ftf font file and import older font selected few characters to the new one. How do I do it? What is the good application to that?
Actually I want to edit "DroidSanFallback" font new and older files. Older file support my native language letters/fonts, but new version not has my native language letters/fonts. So I want to copy my native language characters to new one.
I am from Sri Lanka, and hence I use Sinhala and Tamil fonts from time to time. I have discovered that certain fonts appear fully on the Fonts Panel in the CP. However, other do not (that is, those others appear faded on the CP Fonts panel). WHen I change my font type to a Sinhala font that appeared fully on the panel, it types well on MS Word. But when I try to type in a Sinhala font that appear faded in the CP Fonts Panel, it types in English. how this can be, and what steps I can use to remedy it? to prevent it?

View 0 Replies View RelatedEverything is fine now. If I did something, not sure what worked exactly, but I won't argue Got a strange issue. I've been doing some fiddling recently with customizing Windows 7 (specifically, installing Rainmeter and trying to install custom themes). When I tried to install a theme, however, I ended up with font troubles. Apparently it wrote over some of the main fonts and, oddly enough, made the font show up transparent in some places. (a specific example is in a folder I created on the desktop) Is there a way to restore the fonts completely to default? I've tried restoring to defaults in font settings, but no-go. What do you guys think? I'm thinking I should give up custom themes for a bit until I can make a restore point (I like to dive into things like this. Keeps it challenging, you know ) EDIT: Forgot to mention that this is all on the 64 bit version!
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhich Office 2010 Home and Student Edition fonts are absolutely necessary? Or to put it another way, which fonts (that are typically installed in a normal Office installation) is it safe to delete? There are waaay too many of these dubiously styled fonts cluttering my Windows 7 Pro system; I want to pare things down and make room for higher quality fonts.
