View 1 RepliesFollowing the settings listed here, I've been able to get firefox to set the network proxy settings to auto-detect on the 64-bit computer. Mirroring these settings on the 32-bit system doesn't work though, the only difference I can see is the file hierarchy, but I don't think that would be the cause of the issue due to how FireFox loads and generates profiles
View 1 Replies View RelatedI cleaned up my disk[C:] using Disk Cleanup.I ticked all the items in Files to Delete section and clicked "OK".After that, when I opened Mozilla or IE9 it will stay on loading and will not connect. But If i open Chrome it will connect and I can surf.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have the latest Firefox and Flash Player installed. But some applications just don't run at all. For example, videos on [URL] just show a black screen. And this site is remains completely blank: thisissand.com. These applications do work fine on Internet Explorer, but no matter what I try, it won't work on Firefox. Some other things, like Flash movies on [URL] work just fine on Firefox. I've already tried re-installing Flash. Tried an older version of Flash. Tried disabling Flash safe mode. Nothing changes.
View 2 Replies View Relatedwhen i started firefox it gives an error " firefox has stopped working ". and it gives options for closing program or check on line solution and close the program. Previously it works normal.

View 1 Replies View RelatedIf I connect to my work VPN, then IE refuses to load any pages (inside the work network or outside). It doesn't even appear to try, just goes immediately to "Internet Explorer cannot display this page." I was able to connect to the computer with teamviewer remotely, name resolution worked properly, I was able to ping the web server etc. all fine, even brought the page up in FF and Chrome with no problems. I turned off all add-ins and restarted IE, same deal. If I disconnect from the VPN then IE works fine again. I was running IE9, I tried uninstalling it but having the same issue with IE8.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently updated to Firefox 18. If I go to Windows' Control Panel and then click on "Uninstall a program", both Firefox 18 and Firefox 15 show up in the list of programs. Should I just leave it as it is, or should I uninstall Firefox 15?
By the way, I updated to Firefox 18 through Firefox's update feature, if that helps.
So I posted several weeks ago that my fan was about to go out in my HP DV7 laptop, and it finally stopped working completely. I have a small fan I a using to keep it cool. It appears to be doing the job for the most part. Depending on the time of day I get 32 degrees to a high of about 74 degree's in the hot part of the day.
My question is will this be alright, or is the internal fan being out and not pushing the air out going to be a problem? I will tell you one thing after calling HP and checking with local repair shops I won't be paying anyone to fix it and I am not sure if I can tackle this job myself or not. If I were to fix it myself don't I also have to put the heat sink (processor) stuff on there? (Not sure of the name of the stuff) And were do I get this stuff? So should I just wait and see if this small fan continues to work for me? Or jump in and try to fix it and create more problems! My fear is I will damage the mother board or something else trying to repair the $45.00 fan! Is it worth it? Or rock and roll with the $5.00 external Walmart fan Which could last days or years.
I am bummed as the laptop is only 1 1/2 years old. But I absolutely like all the options and design of my laptop!
I have a HP laptop and a custom built desktop both running Windows 7. I have both devices networked together and both share files through the Windows 7 Home Group or through my NAS. There are many times when I am on my laptop and want to switch over to my desktop or vice versa. My desktop has multiple displays which got me thinking about extended desktops. Is there any possible way to set up a connection between both computers so that a program or software that is installed on both computers could be dragged from the laptop screen over to my desktop screen?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am trying to install a WAMP on my laptop for work outside of my normal environment. My issue is i cannot get the WAMP to work and the icon is red, when i click on it i get an error.I have done the following:
1. removed ALL items that may be on port 80, which included Skype and TeamViewer.
2. I installed Apache 1st, ran a check with my localhost and it displays "It Works"
3. Installed PHP from PHP's site
4. Installed MySQL's workbench with success.
I tried to install the 64 bit WAMP since im running a 64 bit OS on my laptop. This didnt work, so i installed EVERYTHING, and tried the same process but with the 32 bit, still no go.Ive searched all forums and web videos with no luck.
I have a pioneer blueray writer drive installed in my Sony Vaio laptop. I'm on holiday and brought some DVD's with me to watch in the evenings. I have watched several since arriving but tonight when I tried to play one nothing happened. I checked in device manager and it reports that the drive is working properly but when I checked device region I found that it was set to region 1 instead of region 2. When I try to switch to region 2 I get the following error message;"Unable to update region setting. The drive reports that it requires media of the destination region (region 2) so please insert appropriate media and try again." When I insert a region 2 DVD into the drive and click okay it asks if I'm sure I want to change to region 2, I click OK and I get the same error message as above. I have tried uninstalling the drive and then rebooting the computer to force Windows 7 to reinstall it but it just comes up the same as it was. Any idea how to get this working again?
