We have a finance folder on our network server and the administrator must always change security / user access rights. Is it possible the finance manager could do this and not the administrator?
View 1 RepliesI'm looking for some finance software that is compatible with Windows 7 that lets me do the basic things finance software does. I previously used Microsoft Money, then I swapped to a Mac and started to use iBank (which I loved), and I'm now back on a PC for the foreseeable future and need something new. I've been told to get Quicken 2011, but I'm not a fan of the Quicken series of software. What other programs do you recommend? Looking for something fairly featured, so free or pay for, doesn't matter to me.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm running Win 7 64 bit in a Windows 2003 R2 domain.In the last 2 weeks I've gotten several blue screens and am not sure how to correct the problems.I've run sfc /scannow and no problems were found.I'm also seeing Service Control Manager errors in the Events Viewer and possible solutions from other posts on the Internet have not worked.Folder redirection of the My Documents folder is setup in Group Policy yet there are errors that show folders like My Videos can not be created located on the file storage server and my account has full permissions.Lastly, I am experiencing errors with Outlook 2010.I've run the MiniToolBox utility and have attached the results.txt file so you can see these errors.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am the sole owner and user of my laptop. When I first set it up, I established 3 'User Accounts' in the Control panel. One account - the one I would be using most frequently - I set up with 'System Administrator' privileges. The other 2 accounts are for guests, and do not have 'SysAdmin' privileges. My problem is that fairly often, I get a pop-up box that says "You require System Administrator privileges to perform this action." This happens when I am trying to make room on my remote HDD by deleting an old backup. It seems that the operating system does not recognize my 'account' - or any other account for that matter - as having "System Administrator" privileges. How can I correct this problem? Using Win7-Home Premium on an HP dv7 laptop.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm running windows 7 ultimate and am trying to install some software off of a secure server at a remote location to my hard drive. The install fails every time because the my user account (an administrator) does not have full write permissions to the program files directory. I have tried taking ownership of the directory, but I don't have permission to change it from TrustedInstaller.
I turned on the built in administrator account and logged in through that, but there is no difference in permission level. When I attempt to change the permission level I get the following error dialog box: An error occurred while applying security information to:
C:Program Files (x86)
Access is denied
Then the following: Unable to save permission changes on Program Files (x86)Access is denied. I've been fighting with this for three days now and I consider myself pretty adept at typical windows bs. Yes, my UAC is set all the way down. That was the first thing I turned off. I also tried shutting down virus protection and firewalls to no avail. Any help here would be awesome since none of the posts I've been able to find say what to do when the admin can't take control from TrustedInstaller.
I've been dealing with this issue for a few weeks now. The message that comes up when I try to open CCC is: "Could not load file or assembly 'CCC.Implementation' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified." I've tried everything to fix this. I've followed step by step, about a dozen different guides all over the internet on how to fix this issue, but with no luck. My last resort, today, was to reformat my entire hard drive and do a fresh install of windows 7. I was flabbergasted when I still received the error. I have also tried multiple GPU's, so I know it is not a hardware problem, at least I do not think so. My reason for wanting to open CCC is because I just bought another 4890 for crossfire on Ebay but I can't even enable crossfire to get it working.I should also say that the performance of the single 4890 is perfect, so it is running as it should be[CODE]

I found the aforementioned exe in my driverstore folder, but when I run it, nothing happened. I forgot to mention I'm running Win7x64, and am using a custom built PC with an Asus M4A77TD board.
View 17 Replies View Related[I reinstalled Windows 7 using the Upgrade option (not clean install) but before I could do the reinstall it said I had to uninstall Ati Technologies which I could then reinstall after the upgraded Windows]I ran install for the Catalyst Softward Suite for drivers which had the CCC listed, but there is no CCC option in the install list when I run to install. It just doesn't appear! I've uninstalled ATI Catalyst Install Manager, ran Driver Sweeper in safe mode and then reinstalled but still the CCC does not appear in the list. I've also checked the Windows/Assesmbly key problem too. It's the same problem as this post: Catalyst Control Center missing/Wont install?I have a Radeon 4000 series card.

For some reason I can't view anything that is under the control panel as well as the control panel itself. I can open everything else fine such as pics, music, games, videos. But anything that has to with the control panel I can't see. The task bar says the folder is open but I see nothing.I have tried the following: ran sfc, it says nothing is wrong, tried to create a new user account, but I can't since it falls under the control panel. I tried to create a new user account through the guest account (I was able to make it an administrator) but it says I can't create a new account with special characters such as $=- etc... I didn't use any special characters at all so I don't know why it's saying that. It seems to me that this is a registry problem, and I'm a little uncomfortable with the registry and don't like to mess with it at all. Worse comes to worse I'm going to try to reinstall windows

View 10 Replies View RelatedA little background and info: I support a number of people who for one reason or another need to be able to do things a local admin can do like install programs and start services (or more accurately allow a program they're running to start a service). All users are in the local administrators group. The local admin account is enabled (and renamed) so that we as administrators have local access when the machine comes in for service. The machines are joined to a AD domain so that we can control a lot of the security via GPO. Everything worked fine in XP.
We are getting a few different "you do not have permission" errors. When the user tries to run OpenAFS (which starts a service) they get a "you do not have permission" error. There is no way around this error.
Also, when the users try to run Lotus Notes they get a "you do not have permission" error. When we go into compatibility mode and check the "run as administrator" (or just right click and "run as administrator) it works fine, but they have to click the elevated privileges. The program was installed while logged in as the user.
Again, all users are members of the local administrators group. When the local admin account logs in all these programs run fine. This behavior started in Vista and I chalked it up to "vista sucks". Windows 7 so far seems to be great, except that like in vista, members of the local administrators group are not really local administrators. How do I make them true local administrators?
I use an old XP app (JetToolbar - available at JetToolBar - Free software downloads and software reviews - CNET Download.com) and do not want to change but I cant make it work on Windows 7. The application installs and starts up just fine but it is not possible to drag icons/programs/files to the toolbar - I just get the 'no entry' sign (Circle with line through)However, the application runs fine when logged on to the hidden Administrator account. If I set up the application in the hidden Admin account and then log on as a normal admin user and run it from that account, the icons I set up are just not visible.So what do I have to change in my normal user account (member of administrators) to make this drag and drop work?I have tried 'Run as administrator' but that made no difference. Ive read about dropping to 'Run as User' apps from 'Run as Admin' apps but that's not the problem (at least problem occurs when app is run as user or run as admin)
