I previously had vista installed and it performed smoothly.I did a Windows 7(x64) clean install and i kept getting the usual "cannot complete the assessment error".
I updated all BIOS-graphic card drivers and still no solution.
I just did a clean install of Windows 7 Home Premium on my laptop a few days ago, and am trying to get the Windows Experience Index generated. However, I get a message saying that it couldn't be completed due to an error. Here is the info from the winsat.log file: Code:

I have never gotten this to work on any of my desktop computers once I upgrade them. On the laptops, it runs fine every time. The error happens at the end and gives the normal "could not measure storage performance. error: failed to properly assess the disk. The parameter is incorrect."

However, it did give me a rating of 7.4 for the RAM section. (6 Gigs of OCZ DDR3 1600 )
Is this something to worry about?
I recently installed a new hyper 212 cooler. After doing so I downloaded the Intel Burn Tool and ran it a few time to make sure my temps were fine. Now I can't run the WEI program?

My question is looking at other people that have the same machine are rating at around 7 on the processor part of the WEI, but I am rating a 4.7!!!!! I have also seen many machines at work that have far lower processing power that rate a higher score than I do.

Basically, I overclocked my CPU to 4.19 gHz and everything is running smoothly (also got a Radeon 7770 HD graphics card) so I decided to redo my WEI score and close to the end of the CPU test the computer crashed and went to the blue screen of death before restarting again. i own dell vostro 1400, c2d 1.6ghz, 4 gb ddr2 ram (2x2gb), windows 7 ultimate 32 bits.
i was very happy with the performance but suddenly it has become extremely slow to use. it becomes quite unresponsive even for simple tasks like watching Internet in browser. i check windows experience index and found out that processor and memory subscores are very low.
it shows 2.1 for processor and 2.8 memory.
I have sony Vaio VPCEC290X before Windows Experience Index was 5.1 but now it reduced to 3.5 i have update to latest bios a i have check power settings cleaned laptop dust also but the score is still 3.5 what might be the problem i have contact sony care also they checked and told nothing problem with your hardware

After a clean install of Windows 7 Ultimate, I was quite surprised to find my primary hard disk score remained at a 5.9. My boot drive is made up of 2 10,000RPM cheetah SATA drives in a RAID stripe (RAID0). I'm wondering if this test is still maxed out at 5.9. If you got higher than 5.9, what kind of drive are you using? I'm sure SSD's score higher.
Several weeks back I started getting an error every time I ran the WEI in one of my computers. There's nothing I like better than a nice cryptic explanation)And get this... Today I ran the WEI on my 2nd computer and now it's producing this same error. And yet, both computer's HDDs check out fine, There are no flags in Device Manager, and no problems elsewhere.I haven't done anything pertaining to the HDD in either machine. If I remember correctly, I noticed the problem after swapping the graphics cards between machines, although I can't understand why that would affect the HDD error in WEI. In both instances I did a clean re-install of the latest drivers. Both systems are kept clean of garbage and both are running Win7x64.

When the PC came, it had a rating of 4.5, the lowest being the Gaming graphics section. Right now, that section is 4.2 and has established the baseline. I did the custom option and wiped my entire hard disk, created new partitions according to my need and installed the windows on a newly created and formatted partition.
Before I began installation, I backed up a folder called 'drivers' located in the root folder of the OS partition. This is what I used to update all of my drivers after the installation.
My PC is a Dell Latitude E5410. - Operating System Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate x86 - PC's hard drive capacity is about 240 GB but when it came it only had a single partition of 116 GB - I don't have the original disks that came with the PC.
Is there any way I can get back to my original rating?
I know this is nitpicky and rather insane but i have a sata 3 hard drive using a sata 3 cable plugged into a sata 3 controller and windows only rates my HDD transfer rate as 5.9 (eg sata 2) and i know this is nitpicky but what do i need to do to fix that

I did a system recover, used fix it program recomended by mircosoft and no such luck. Went even throgh safe mode...nothing. I tryed to instal it on my other PC and it instaled no problem. I'm running windows 7 64bit on both systems. Like I said it did install no problem the first time. It's when I uninstalled it to re-install it the problem started.The software is a plug in for my DAW system. Windows Update is failing for some reason (I was successfully able to install 2 updates, but all of the others fail)
I am getting an "unknown error" 80070308, and while there seems to be one other reference to this on a MSFT forum, the solutions there were basically restart the update service, which doesn't work, or rename some of the Windows files... which I did as well to no avail.
Does anyone know what this error is? Or had it before?
Shortcut Icons just show the >unknown< icon.I have tried to:
1. reboot in safe mode
2. move the shortut folder in and out
3. closed Explorer.exe and reopen it.
4. the last thing i've tried was to use the system restore as many say htat would help the problem. but when i want's to run system Restore it comes with the fatal error "0x80090067", so i cannot restore. WTF.
