Windows Update Failed - Code Error 8000ffff
Jan 15, 2013about a month I have a problem with the updates of windows 7 professional 32 bit. When I turn on the PC, Windows tries to install an update, it hangs at 35% and the pc restarts 3 times before using it. after, if I click on search updates, I have error code 8000ffff. I tried microsoft fixit but I have not resolved.

Can't Get Terraria To Work On Steam / Error Code: 8000FFFF
May 1, 2012I can't get Terraria to work on steam because I need framework 4.0. Before getting that I turned updates on for the first time and got some updates. Most failed. This is the error code: 8000FFFF. I tried multiple times but they don't download. Any clue why? Also when I tried to download fw 4.0 off MS.com, I had a "catastrophic error".

Oct 30, 2012A while back, after successfully downloading and installing some updates in the Windows Update, it prompted me to restart the computer to finish the update installation process. However, I continued to use the computer for quite some time before restarting it, and then when it tried to configure the updates on the start-up screen, it showed that it was not successful in doing so. In the past, I noticed that this would typically happen when I did not restart the computer immediately (or within a short time) after the updates finished and I got the prompt to restart. I would have to go to Windows Update and do it over again, and then upon immediate restart, it would always work properly. But this time, it did not, and I keep getting the 8000FFFF error message instead.
Also, now, every time I start the computer, it shows that it's "Preparing to configure Windows... Do not shut off computer" (presumably the updates that never got completely and correctly configured) in the start-up screen... gets to 35%..fails... shuts down (screen goes black)... restarts again... tries to configure again, fails again, shuts down and restarts again... tries to configure again, fails again, and finally it apparently gives up and says "reverting changes" and finally goes to the desktop.I've looked at the answers in several threads at the answers.microsoft.com forum that were started by people with similar problems, and also tried several of the Microsoft "FixIt" files on the Microsoft site, but none of them worked. I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium.
Get Error 8000FFFF When Trying To Update?
May 3, 2012So I was trying to do some updates for Win. 7 and I got Framework 4. FW 4 is fine The updates, OK there were 119 i think of 'em or close. First, the other day I got error 8000FFFF when trying to update. then I got a program for Win. 7 (made by MS) to fix registries. This let me install FW 4 and some updates.Then I came back, didn't get a glance at the screen but my comp. turned off and reset. It was updating registries and then trying to config. win 7, that failed and it reverted to prebious settings, where I am now.
I can press CTRL+ALT+DEL to open Tskmngr and open programs (as I obviously did so.) but the Desktop is black, no icons, no taskbar (explorer.exe)and I might be missing something else. Also the, at the top left window says its personalizing my desktop as if first use. its not, and I've been w8ing for it for over 15 mins now...

Jan 19, 2010In the last few months I have been getting error messages in my Yahoo mail account. It will not go to next email and returns an 'Error Code 5' or recently an 'Error Code 15'. It says "Sorry for the inconvenience. You have stumbled upon an unexpected, temporary problem." This happens every other email. What are these codes and why is this happening?

Jun 28, 2011i recently got a computer from my aunt, and decided to put windows 7 on it. Before I installed it, I put in a Geforce 8800 graphics card and a (2nd) cd rom drive. After 20 failed attempts to install windows 7 (it kept freezing at the completing installation part) it worked after i disconnected the new graphics card and one of the hard drives. Now, however, i keep on getting periodic blue screens with the following error messages : Memory Management, and PFN_List Corrupt. I ran a memory diagnostic and it said that the memory is fine. What is wrong with my computer? I also ran a system repair thing from the windows 7 disk, and it came up with this error: System File Integrity Check and Repair Error Code 0X490

Jun 17, 2012I having a popular problem 643 and I have tryied several sugestions but the problem still exist.The first of many updates that fail was on 6-10-2012 Framework4 KB2656351 plus 8 or 9 more with different numbers.I got this information by clicking on display updates, I do not know if that is the right way to get the code name for the updates or if there is other way. If there is other way to get this information please let me know, I am a work in progress.

Nov 18, 2012I was having some issues with my pc a few weeks back. Nobody could find a fix for my problem so I took the 11 hr route and restored it back to factory settings. Everything is good except I've got a yellow exclamation point over two devices under Devices & Printers. It's bugging me and even though my initial problem is fixed, I'd like everything tip top after I just put in all this work setting it back up. Aug 18, 2012A while ago I had some bluescreens with the error-code F4 which I could fix by updating the SSD firmware (from 1.3.0 to 1.3.3). But since then, I sometimes have a bluescreen with the errorcode 101. The bluescreens only appear while I'm playing Battlefield 3 or sometimes when I currently play nothing; in other situations my pc just freezes and I have to use the power button. With Google I found out, that this bluescreen is caused by an error with the processor, so I ran Prime95 and watched the temperatures with SpeedFan. The temperature of the second core was 98�C so I started logging the temperature. After another bluescreen I looked in the logfile but the temperature was only around 40�C. So it seems that nothing overheats (which is also proved by the fact that the bluescreens appears while nothing runs that stresses the hardware alot).

I have tried to uninstall the driver and re-boot the machine and windows finds the hardware and I get the same error. When I updated the driver, I download the driver file, go into the extracted directory and run the setup.exe file. Then I go to the device manager and update the driver for this device and specify the directory for it to search on my hard drive. I have a GeForce 8400M GS video card and am running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. My laptop is an HP dv9500z (Product GP347AV). I am running an AMD Turion 64 X2 2.2 GHz processor.
