I recently reinstalled windows 7 through the backup OS disk. When I type in my Activation Key for Windows 7 Ultimate it says :
"A problem occured when Windows tried to activate. Error Code 0xc004f063. Description: The Software licensing Service reported that the computer BIOS is missing a required licencse"
I built my computer a few years ago and bought vista right before 7 was coming out so I got a free upgrade disc. I never bothered upgrading until I had to do a clean system install a couple months ago because my computer locked up.A couple days after I installed vista and upgraded to 7, and before I activated my copy of windows 7, my PSU died. I finally got a new PSU and now when I try to activate my windows 7 I get this error.Does the 30 days to activate actually mean anything? I ask because I didn't get to activate in the 30 day period since my PSU crapped out on me. Also, I had to use magic bean key finder to get the key because I cannot find my original upgrade case as it got lost in one of several moves apparently.It says my copy is not genuine but it is. This is what makes me mad about microsoft. Things that should go smoothly never do.

I downloaded a ISo file to flashDrive used JellyBean key finder and wrote the key down and then booted and reinstalled Windows 7 64Bit from flashDrive and now it gives me that error code saying The Software Liscensing Service reported tha the computer BIOS is missing a required License.
2 days ago my Windows software changed on a restart and now tells me it is not genuine. I followed the steps to re-enter my product key and receive this error: Software Licensing Service reported that the computer BIOS is missing a required license. Error code: 0xc004f063.

My computer crashed a few months ago due to a brown out and, as a result, windows 7 ultimate had to be reinstalled from a boot disk. Once it was re-installed, We put my serial number in and it worked fine (just as it had before). My integrated graphics on my motherboard went out so when i got my GPU up and going, my computer gave me this error and will not let me put in my serial. At the bottom of my screen It displays hat this copy of windows is nott genuine, even though i know it is. Each time I repeat the process i receive the same error code. I don't quite understand what I am reading in the other forums. I just want to get this computer running.

Now, I'd like to re-add a new drive to replace that one, but Disk manger will not recognize that drive even though I can see it in device manager and I've changed the drive positions in the Raid box. Is there a way to force Disk manger to see a drive again? (same one or different drive?)

Windows 7 has sure made this administrator account complicated. You create a default administrator account when installing Windows 7. Ok, that seems easy. Then for security and daily use you create a Standard account. Ok, only a little less obvious. But then it turns out that there is a hidden Administrator account that is disabled by default. What does that mean? Not so obvious.
Now, I had a reason to activate the hidden account. Definitely not easy until you search the forums and go through some procedures. Unfortunately, when Windows starts up, there are now three accounts showing, eg., JohnUser, JohnDefaultAdmin, Administrator.
Next step, to make the Administrator account not so obvious, is even more complicated. Figure out how to get NO accounts to show at logon. That is, revert to the old NT clt-alt-del panel where you have to enter both account name and password. (Also disable Show last logon name.) More complicated, but I got there, too.
I thought I was done. But nooooooo. Anyone who pratices safe computing by normally using a standard account knows this drill. You try to run almost any program, or download an update, etc., and you are asked for the password of an account with admin rights. What happens? You get a dialog screen that shows the name of every admin account. In this case, it would show JohnDefaultAdmin and Administrator.
I cannot find any way to enable the Administrator account and have it stay hidden in the circumstance described above.
Incidentally, the reason I needed the hidden Administrator account is that it appears to have some powers that the default administrator account does not. In my case, it was the ability to create a rescue disk without getting the widely-reported (0x80070057) error.
My Windows 7 Toshiba laptop no longer provides popups when I plug in an external device via my available USB ports, ie: my external HDD for backups, my camera memory stick to upload my photo's etc.. when I plug in I get the audio noise which confirms something has been plugged in but I no longer get a pop up to invite me to take appropriate action like start a backup or upload my photo's. This process worked fine until a few weeks ago now nothing?

i have been using windows 7 for a long time and it works great. but i have a problem. when i install steam it works perfect but when it tryes to update steam and it reach 20 % it says ERROR Steam.exe (main exception): ERROR: deleted steam.exe but the file is still there, so i try to run it as admin but there is no function that allows me to run steam or steam install as a admin. all other things i can run as a admin except steam i guess. and my UAC is not disabled its on recommended settings.

I have a new notebook with Win 7 Ultimate and added the xp mode so I could run my older programs. I am experiencing an application error �General Protection Default in Module WIN87EM.DLL". I researched the problem online and downloaded a file WIN87EM.DLL and added to the software directory. I also performed the compatibility option. The problem continues. My software is a horse handicapping system that processes past performance data files. I am able to start the software with no problem and even model one race file with no problem. Whenever I try to bulk model say 30 race files to build my database is when the error comes up. The software runs great on my old computer with Win XP..

So decided to do a clean install from the original disk. This is the same disk used for the previous clean install.Once disk started and accepted the terms of service choose Install - Custom and formatted the drive... really wanted a clean install. After the format chose next and the install seems to start normally. During the "Expand Windows Files"?, I think that is what it says the following error comes up...Windows cannot install required files. Make sure all files for installation are available. 0x80070079.

My problem is, since I changed the OS to this "more advanced", I cannot play Flight Simulator 2004 without this error message that closes the game. "Insufficient memory, please check your hard drive..." My system only has Flight Simulator installed, plus microsoft office and Avg antivirus (not counting with all the system updates, drivers etc). I don't understand this problem, because before this OS, I had Win XP 32 bits, with a lot more programs and addons installed and running, and I never had this problem...even with all the graphics pumped up to the max in the game. My graphic card is Asus En9800GT nvidia with 1gb ddr3 and HD with 400GB still to use (same board and HD used with XP).

Also, my Local disk C is reporting only 8 GB of free memory. But in realty it has 17 GB free memory. Even I could not extend my disk volume through Disk Management.

Before I describe my problem, I just want to let you know that I have searched for this error and received no solution. I traced the problem to the HID service- on my laptop it was runnig, on my desktop it was not. My sister's computer has been running Windows 7 Ultimate x64 for more than two years. We obtained the copy from Amazon. The copy we have appears in a genuine box, with COA with interwoven holographic strip, and holographic cds. We went away camping for a week, turned on the computer on return, and the screen went black when the computer did the update check. Error code is 0xC004F200, and optional update delivery no longer works. There is an error code down the right corner, notification that build 7601, windows no longer genuine, etc.
This copy was only ever used once, and on this machine, and obtained for this machine. It has never been installed on anything else. We checked the product key via computer properties, and it said that the product key suddenly no longer matched the product key on the box/cds. On trying to change it, a dialog box came up and said that the product key has been blacklisted. We researched this, and the net said to contact microsoft.
BTW, we ran the diagnostic tool as admin.
