Email Messages Sent Via Windows 7 Mail Not Received By Certain Domains?
Sep 28, 2011
I just purchases a new DELL desktop system that runs Windows 7 and the newest version of Windows mail. My ISP is Comcast. Since using this Windows mail, people with email accounts on verizon.net and optonline.net do not receive my email messages when sent thru Windows mail. If I send these people the same message thru Comcast webmail the message is received by these people. Email accounts on yahoo, gmail, and various other servers can receive the messages. This leads me to conclude that there is something that Windows mail is doing to the outgoing message that is causing it to be rejected by certain servers
Using Windows Mail I find that some recipiants are not receiving E-mails I send to them. Even when I reply to their E-mails the reply does not go through to their mailbox. They have checked their Spam inbox, but the E-mail does not show up there either. I would appreciate any help along these lines.
I upgraded my wife's computer from Vista to Windows 7 yesterday. Before starting the process I copied old Vista info to a second drive. I did not realize that Windows 7 did not utilize Windows Mail before starting the upgrade process (dummy me!).
In proceeding through the Dell provided upgrade disks, I selected Upgrade as my option.
Now, I am not able to Import my old Windows Messages into Windows Live Mail. The upgrade process created a folder called Windows.old and I have my separately saved Vista info on my other drive. My question is if the old Windows Mail messages are there specifically what folder do they reside in either of the two (or both) locations, and how do I get them into my Live Mail history.
Seems like there should be a way to do this, but it is not as simple as the canned instructions for importing e-mail.
I right click, get the drop down menu, click on "Email picture . . . " What I get is a message box with the following, "There is no email program associated to perform the requested action." So when I go to defaults program control there are email programs listed. I installed gmail notifier thinking thhat would help but it did not.
Windows 7. This started happening about a week ago. When I receive an email that has a link or when I even click on something I want to open that has a link. It opens the link in WORD. In order to open the link I have to save as a favorite and then it will open.
I have an odd problem with Windows Live Mail. As soon as I installed it, I unchecked the following options under Options -> General:Check for new messages every ... (30 minutes) and Send and receive messages at startup. So these options now DO NOT have the check mark next to them.Despite this, my Windows Live Mail checks for new email messages on all accounts (both for my ISP, my hosting as well as on Gmail accounts) every 30 minutes or perhaps every 1 hour and downloads any new email messages, even when I don't tell it to do so. I am not sure about the exact time period but it certainly checks for new emails even when I don't tell it to do so. If I leave the computer overnight I always find new emails downloaded by tomorrow morning.
I have had Windows Mail up and running since day one of installing Windows 7 but I just tried to import our messages(Inbox, Sent, Draftes ect...) into it but it doesn't see the files in the saved folders. All files and folders were succesfully saved via Export Messages in Vista's Windows Mail. I also tried finding the folders manually within Windows Mail in Windows 7 thinking I could just copy and past the messages into the files but couldn't find them(thought like vista it would be in the hidden "Application Data" folder but it was not...
Starting Windows Live Mail I get error messages (for the last 3-4 months):
"We noticed some unusual activity in your account. ... we temporarily blocked your account." Pressing [OK} -->
next message:
"Your account has been temporarily blocked..
We'll send a verification code to your mobile phone. All you need is a phone that can receive text messages. After you enter the code, you can sign in.Skip this for now (parts of Windows Live may be disabled)"
My wife's computer just died and I had previously "activated" Windows Mail on her Windows 7 OS with the help of a guide in this forum. Now I need to recover her email messages without the ability to do a Import/Export recovery. Can I find and move her message files over to Win Mail on another Win 7 computer?? Where are they and how do I do it?? I have access to her HD mounted in an external case now.
When I import messages from Windows Live Mail into Windows Live Mail, I proceed as follows:
- In Windows Live Mail I select Import messages, then Windows Live Mail and then finally I browse and select the location. Eventually I get a screen saying: Importing message ... of ... messages.
- When I check later in the Storage folder. I cannot find all the messages. During import it says that it is importing for example 21 files but when I check the Storage folder only 3 files are displayed.
I wish to move email messages from one Windows 7 computer to another using easy transfer. Can someone tell me exactly what I need to tick to do this? The 'new' computer already has Windows Live Mail in use.
I have been trying without success to export Outlook express mail from an XP computer into Windows live Mail on a brand-new Windows 7 HP computer. I have followed the directions on the Internet to copy the Outlook express mail folder onto a flash drive. The directions I followed were to go to Outlook express, click on tools, options, maintenance, store folder. Then copy store location, go to start menu, click run. Then when the Outlook express folder opens with the DBX files, I copied the entire folder to a flash drive. I have followed the directions on the Internet to copy the Outlook express mail folder onto a flash drive. I go into Windows live Mail import and follow the prompts. It acts like it is copying the DBX folders, however when it is finished there are no e-mails in the imported folder. I have tried over and over and have no luck. I have no idea where the e-mails are or if they are actually available.
Some emails from safe sources (e.g. my subscription to the Washington Post) appear in my inbox with no subject and the contents are garbage.I can open the email on my IP's website but not in any of my two computers using Windows Live Mail. [code]
WLM crashed this afternoon. When I opened it up again, it recoverd the folders and messages in the Storage folder, but when I try to view or read the messages they actually link to one of only three messages. Messages in the top 3 folders link to one, the next two to another, and the rest to another. The Message List looks fine, with the subject and sender showing correctly. It's just that I can't read the messages.
Is there a way to forward email messages in Windows Live Mail WITHOUT turning them into an attachment? I want to forward the message as an actual message--this gives me the option of editing it before I send it.
We have a new computer and now our email messages from two of our addresses are duplicated. The third address seems OK. We receive emails on gmail, read them on Windows Live Mail. We need to see all accounts at one time and on two devices.
I have two email accounts. One is MSN and the other is Verizon. I view both on emails on Windows Live Mail or on my MSN account. I get the emails OK, but on my Verizon emails I received the email messages on both my Verizon address and my MSN address. I do not want my Verizon emails to come to my MSN address. I am using Windows 7.
I bought windows 7 professional because I wanted the xp option. I expected to keep all important stuff. Installation to upgrade Vista home premium required the installation to be full rather than upgrade. No warning was given that I would loose all my email contacts and messages. Is there any way to recover them?
As I was looking through my e-mail settings, I noticed that I have my mail set up to check for new messages every 30 minutes. I just want to receive mail as it comes inIf I un-check that particular box will that enable this to happen? Also, if I have to set it to check every minute, will that effect how my system runs? As in, will it noticeably interrupt things? maryisme247 has chosen the best answer to his/her question.Click here to view the answer that was selected.
On instruction from my ISP I deleted my windows live mail email account to try to overcome a repetitive issue of having to re-enter my password each time I hit sent/receive mail. When I went to tools/accounts and hit remove, all of my emails disappeared.
I have been through the process of trying to import them back into windows live mail, I have uninstalled/reinstalled, deleted the windows live mail folder (having kept a copy on an external drive) and have tried a variety of imports to no avail.
I even installed Outlook 2007 and tried an import and even an export to Outlook 2007 direct from Windows Live Mail. Although there has been some progress in respect of seeing an export/import happen (i.e the emails are counted) and folders appearing in Outlook in the left hand side, there are no messages evident within the folders. I have even managed to appear to import them back into WLM but although the folders appear in the left column the messages are not there.
I did not export the messages prior to the account removal and adding back in WLM, which I suppose I should have done, but I have not deleted the WLM folder in user/.../application data/local/Microsoft, so they are still there but not visible. New mail has now been added from the server to further complicate issues.
Is there a way to get all of my mail back to how it was? I appreciate that numerous folder appear in the left hand side as storage folders with some unknown names.

I am now using Mozilla Thunderbird on my Dell Win7 laptop, but I am unable to open hyperlinks inside website email messages, either by left-clicking or right-clicking to open the link in browser. That email account is not used very often, but I believe the "open-link" function did work once upon a time.
Yesterday I received couple of mails, but it turned out that one of them somehow dissapeared. I saw him, read, and then....gone. I couldn't find it anywhere, even with using search button, so I logged in on the mail through the browser and.. the mail was there. The same happens with some sent messages - some of them go directly to the sent elements and some of them dissappear inbetween and are not visible there.
When I turn on the screen of my PC I get weird shapes all over the screen. Some of them are coloured, some are grey but they appear on all programmes, including a Word blank page and the desktop page. Some of them flash, some of them change shape, ut they are all pixel shaped within the boxes. There are also some strange 'squiggly' marks on the screen. When I opened Windows mail, the left hand side of the screen was completely black and it didn't show any of my messages. As I'm typing this message, I've got grey boxes which change shape as I type and it's covering some of the text.
