The problem: all the buttons from the taskbar are disappeared. I try to put them back but nothing. When I try to pin a program shortcut, appear that it is already pinned, but I can't see it.I tried with quick launch, they apear, but when I start a program the button is not activated.
When you mouse over a button on the taskbar in Windows 7, the button glows in the predominant color of the program's icon, with the glow being most intense where the cursor currently is.Then the cursor leaves the button, the glow goes away. However, for me, when the cursor leaves a button and does not then enter another button, the glow stays on the previously hovered over button. This is not what is supposed to happen.
In Windows XP I could choose an item from taskbar buttons' list by clicking on the button and after the list appeared by typing its name's starting character/characters. But in Windows 7 the list just disappears after pressing any key on the keyboard! Is there anyway to enable that feature in Windows 7?
I bought the new Samsung computer that came with Windows 7 and BLUETOOTH. After getting the updates, the bluetooth is not working and saying there is no connection for it. It was working before the updates as I was using it.
I have got a sony vaio laptop VPCEB2ZOE, today the wifi just disapeared, I cant see any available networks, I restored the system to a previous setting but still I could not find the wifi restored.
Is there a method/hack or a 3rd-party program that allows the user to hide the taskbar by dragging its top border line downwards, after un-locking the taskbar? I remember I could do that under Win9x.
So about a month ago I restarted my computer and when it came back on all my programs pinned to my task bar and everything that was in my start menu was gone. From there I could not unlock the taskbar and nothing would pin in either the start menu or taskbar. I researched everywhere about it. I tried unlocking the taskbar in properties and registry with no luck. I finally found some posts about how my user profile was corrupt and from there I went on and made a new profile and copied everything and BOOM it all worked fine now. Well today it happened AGAIN! I restarted my computer and everything disappeared. So I think it is still a corrupt profile, but this is the second time it has happened.
I have a client that has laptop with windows 7 Pro. He had a faulty network card, so I have added a new, usb network card. That said, He can not pin anything to taskbar or start menu. I cleared both folders of shortcuts(567 of them) but to no avail. He also has no options under his desktop Context menu for New. He is also using a roaming profile, of which I will disable next time I am there. I have a feeling that might be the issue. I did scour the internet trying all the usual suggestions, but do vaguely remember something about an entry in cache somewhere that if it is too big or corrupt, it could cause this behavior. I am unable to find that post anywhere now.I mention the network card because one post had taskbar issues until he disabled his faulty network card. I have disabled the faulty network card.
New Laptop. Win7 64 ie9 has no min max or X buttons on the top right. Is this a new feature... Checked options, can`t download ie9 as my version is newer. ie8 not compatible. Should I remove ie9, then how can I access the net to reload
My Computer has worked awesome for months. Now all of a sudden after it sits for awhile.(Like 15 mins +)It wont let me click on any windows 7 buttons. Cant click on icons in the quick launch area.Cant click the buttons to close an open window.Yet I can click on desktop icons.Only way to get it to let me click again is hit CTRL + Alt + Del When the window pops up with the options I can hit cancel and I can click on these things again.

've been using a keyboard, that i bought in Albania, really cheap price, low profile keyboard named ACME. My PC Have been screwed up by it somehow.. i think, as now i cant press serval buttons on my Keyboard.I can't Press ENTER Anymore on my laptop keyboard, neither ''L'' and serval more buttons, which make it pointless to use my laptop now..I'm currently going back to norway, and i am leaving the low profile KB here, and i'd love to make the keyboard work 100% Again?I'm not sure why, but it does not let me press enter, or L, it ignores it, like it dosent even effect anything..I've got aHP Pavilion dv6 Laptop, windows 7, x64.-- The problem came up after i took out the keyboard, and my pc was shutten off.. now i cant use the laptop keyboard 100%, only 70% as most of the buttons dont even work
I am completely stumped as my keyboard has gone haywire and am quite annoyed i cant fix itAm running windows 7 on toshiba satellite pro laptop and was wondering if its a software or perhaps hardware issue. Here is what is happening:- Caps lock light doesnt stay on anymore but it flashes when i press it. It does still work properly though- Left SHIFT key still works but when i press it.....it also creates this symbol ~ at the same time within UK keyboard. If i change to US keyboard then it enters the PIPE symbol.- The ~ key above the tab key actually does this And the pipe key which is above the Enter key types this: #7
I am talking essentially of record and tv guide shortcut, at left of the stop button. It is the second time that it happens.
The first time I read that it could be solved through Windows features. So I turned it off and hell broke loose. I had to do a complete reinstall. I won't try this again.
So I have a complete new installation, but the buttons seem to have disappeared after tens windows updates that I applied.
I wonder if it is something wanted after this one was executed; October 2010 Cumulative Update for Windows Media Center in Windows 7
I just real;ized that when it is in full screen the buttons are back.... normal behaviour?
On my laptop the F5 and F6 buttons only change the sound level of about 2% with the Fn button each time. I would much prefer it if each time I pressed it it would change by about 10%. Is there a way to change how much effect the buttons make.
I have the original WoW MMO Gaming Mouse, and used it in OSX. A handy utility called USB Overdrive lets me map all of the mouse's buttons (there are like 11) to keys on the keyboard.I tried using the mouse's native Windows software to do the same in Windows 7, but find no option to map mouse buttons to keys. So I'm looking for something simple that mimics what USB Overdrive can do.I tried a utility called X-Mouse, but it doesn't recognize all the mouse buttons. Are there any other utilities I could look at?
I had a program installed called Spiral Knights, and I pinned the icon onto the taskbar so I could quickly launch it. When I was done playing it for good, I uninstalled it and it looked like the icon was off the taskbar, but it wasn't. When I tried to put another program onto the taskbar, called minecraft_server.jar, it pinned to the Spiral Knights icon, even though SK isn't installed anymore. Wherever I try to put the minecraft_server.jar onto the taskbar, the SK program is still there, and it says if I want to pin the minecraft_server.jar onto SK.
Firefox is my main browser-Have also tried Google Chrome and IE9OS is Win 7 x64 EnterpriseSome java buttons on websites just don't work. In any browser.... they didn't work in the previous versions before i updated both Firefox and Chrome. As far as security software that I'm using, I've tried disabling all of it, and still have the same issues. Those programs are: Spybot S&D, AVG Free, Comodo firewall. Here's a good example of a java thing on a site that won't work for me.Covers.com has a login / password thing in the top right corner of their main page. I punch in my name and password, and neither hitting enter nor clicking on the Login link do anything. But I am experiencing this type of issue on many other sites. I can get on my laptop and go to the same sites and I have no issues, so it's something to do with this OS. Unfortunately, my laptop charger was lost so that's not an option. Plus, I'd really like to be able to use my tower for everything I do on the web.
I'm not sure if this problem is for the hardware or OS forum, as I'm not sure where the problem stems from.Recently I've been having trouble with certain keys on my keyboard, as well as my fingerprint reader. Some of my keys don't work very well at all, and some work only sporadically. The keys I'm talking about aren't any of the input keys for typing or anything, but rather the keys to adjust volume, brightness, screen width, etc. I'm not sure why the keys stopped working, but if someone could help with that would be awesome.I am also having trouble with my fingerprint scanner stopping working. It works when I restart or boot my computer, but after I've logged in a few times it stops working.
I recently received a watermark saying that my windows version was not genuine. (It is) Anyhow, in my scurry to remove the watermark I somehow probably changed a setting that has rendered my Min, max & close buttons useless. I am also not able to drag windows. When I open certain MMC documents, including device manager, I receive a notification stating "Unable to create new document." I have tried restoring my system to no avail. I have done so with my av & firewall down too, as well as from safe mode. I have run multiple virus scans & my system is clean!
Everything worked fine till 1 hour ago or something like that. Then everytime i press the left button it will "left button-click" AND "right button-click" and it actually does the same with the right button.
I have tried to see if the settings have been messed up, but no. Everything is normal. I have tried changing the usage of each button - like changing the right button assignemt to do a "down arrow" instead of a "special click", but then it just does a "left button-click" and the "down arrow"...
I have tried uninstalling the driver, updating the driver, rebooting the computer, changing the settings, used windows recovery...
I really don't know what to do. When I plug in a USB mouse, that works fine. No problems there. It is just the touchpad buttons...
My laptop came preinstalled with Windows Vista so upgraded to Windows 7 Home Premium when it was released, since then an issue has persisted but has not been sorted, just lived with it,My laptop a: Toshiba Equium A200-26D has six media buttons above the keyboard, since the upgrade to Windows 7 Home Premium the only button that launches from the desktop is the Internet button (which is fine). The button next to that used to launch a media application such as Windows Media Player when pressed (Vista Installed). Since Windows 7 has been installed it has no function at all. When pressed it does not respond, is there a way to sort this so it launches Windows Media Player again or even iTunes?
recently I got an error message from Norton called 3048, 3. I followed it to the download for Norton Power Eraser, which told me to restart my computer. I did. It ran and found nothing. The message popped up twice more. Then it stopped. I've run full scans on both Norton Internet Security 2012 and MBAM, and they have found nothing. I have tried to bootup in safe mode twice, but whenever I get to bootup menu I can't do anything. The arrow won't, the escape key won't work, even the enter key doesn't work. They all work fine in normal mode. I'm working with Windows 7 by the way on an HP laptop.
The "back up now" button and "change settings" button and other buttons in the backup and restore center does not work, nothing happens except an icon flashes by in the taskbar. I have however managed to do a backup of my system drive but it won't let me do anything there now.
I've tried using system file checker to see if anything is wrong with the system files but it checks out ok.
I'm using registry-tweaked custom DPI 86 (Windows would show it as 90%).It's wonderful, but it has one major downside. It's using the biggest possible navigation buttons. Now, I tried playing with Win 7 NBC, and even tried messing with explorerframe.dll, nothing works. Whole system acts like it's not loading navigation buttons from explorerframe.dll but from another, hidden source.
I know that such DPI is not supported but am I the only one who thinks that microsoft made every button and bar too freaking big?
I have a HP Pavillion dv6700 32 bit running vista currently. I want to upgrade to windows 7, but the compatibility program said that the quick launch buttons wouldnt work properly. I searched around and looked on HP's website to see if there were drivers for the upgrade but I havent found anything.
Would anybody know
1) if my quicklaunch buttons would indeed not work if I installed Windows 7
2) What I need to do to get them to work?
3) Do I need to do it after or before I install Windows 7?
