DirectX 11 Not Detected Except In Dxdiag
Jun 3, 2011I just bought a evga 560 1gb ddr5 video card for my system. Windows 7 ultimate, 8gb ram, Intel core2 2.13ghz. I plan on upgrading this year but not too soon due to budget constraints. Anyway, I try running some of my games in directx 11 and the games say that the compatible hardware isn't found. dxdiag says I have directx 11 but the system information says I have dx10. I'm confused as to what's going on since the video card should be compatible. Even says so on the box.
I should also mention I barely updated my video card drivers and directx to the latest versions.

Oct 17, 2011this gives me an Error "Failed to find a supported hardware rendering device. Ensure that your system the minimu requirements of Company of Heroes. Verify that DirectX is properly installed and that you have the latest drivers for your system." this annoys me! i know i have directX and it is v11. the minimu req of the game is DirectX9c better if you have the latest.

Jan 30, 2011I *WAS* having this problem trying to play RIFT Beta, however, a quick search of your forum gave me just the answer that solved my problem. The launcher would start, then I would click play, and a directx update window would open, when I clicked the next button on the installer for directx (the window did not provide a version), I would get the error box telling me to look in my directx.log file, which contained many lines of error code about missing cab files. I then used the link provided in a closed thread on this forum that took me to the Microsoft Directx software page, I downloaded the latest rev of the runtime sdk kit, after 6 minutes of installation, RIFT launched perfectly. and i have not been able to successfully install DirectX9.0c. over the already installed DirectX 11.
has any one else experienced this problem. with Windows 7 beta 7048. because since i installed Windows 7 on my computer.
i am not at all able to play any DirectX 9.0c or DirectX10 PC Games. each time i attempt to install Directx9.0c during installation it is not able to complete. or even start installing. on the windows 7 beta 7048 could someone help explain what i need to do to get this working.
properly also i have an ATI Radeon HD3650 if that helps any.

The game seems to be consulting" dxdiag.exe when I adjust the graphics detail of the game.Here is the problem, dxdiag when launched insists on displaying my secondary Intel GPU. My laptop has switchable graphics, but even if I force the usage of the primary Nvidia GPU (GT540M) through the Nvidia control panel it still detects the Intel one.

Mar 1, 2012so the title states everything, basically, when i boot the computer or log on, when i dxdiag, on directdraw acceleration and AGP Texture acceleration states its enabled.a couple games from warcraft 3 playing a game called DOTA, when i alt+tab a couple times to, firefox, or music player then back to warcraft 3, it works perfectly for lets say. maybe 3-4 games then when i alt+tab sometimes, and alt+tab back to warcraft 3, it just stays a blank black screen but doesnt crack, just the game does.then i go back to dxdiag, it now states that directdraw acceleration and AGP Texture acceleration is now Not Available.i dont understand, i never had this problem with XP. please someone help or point me to the right direction. ive been at it since 2am this morning and now its almost 11am. been searching everywhere and no luck.

It does show up in msinfo32 though, along with that intel thing.

When you run the DirectX Diagnostics Tool (Dxdiag.exe) on a computer that is running Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2, the diagnostic tool incorrectly reports a DirectX 11 device as a DirectX 10.1 device. This incorrect version information is shown in the DDI field on the Display tab. This problem is only a reporting error.
This problem does not affect the DirectX 11 hardware or software functionality of the graphics card.
Must provide an email account to request the Hotfix. Extraction of the zipped hotfix requires a password, which will be provided in the email.

Even though windows 7 has DX11, you should always update the direct x. Older games still require these updates. I see alot of ATI Cat issues solved after installing these aswell.

Jun 29, 2012When I go to dxdiag, on the display tab, it says direct 3D acceleratoin: Not available. And I need to enable it for a game.Another weird thing that might have something to do wiht the problem: In the device manager, when I open Display adapters section, there is one item called "Standard VGA graphics adapter", and my graphics card is ATI Radeon Mobility 5650, which is not shown there.
