Can't get the Dell Printer to work. It's connected to a desktop and has been running normally with my wireless home network. Wife's friend installed W7RC on her computer and now we can see the computer but can't print to it. Tried to find printer drivers for it online and they don't exist.
I need help getting my Dell Photo AIO printer 926 to work w/ Windows 7. I only plan on using it for a couple months until I get a new printer (once Windows 7 comes out that I know should work hassle free), but i DO need it now because school is starting and I don't want to have to convert all documents to word 2003 and then email them to my old computer...
All the drivers are installed, and it IS running in vista compatability mode. It just WONT print. When I try printing I usually don't get any errors. In word I do get an error though which says that the printer is not set up correctly. If I try to do a test page it just says cannot print. Windows 7 does not say anything is wrong.
Now I normally try printing from random websites, heres what happens. The first time that I send a document to print from a website it flashes in the document queue for about a second and then disappears. Afterwords if I try to send a document it won't even appear in the queue. From MS word I cannot even send the document... it won't work.
Now i DID get it to work once but that was after I had installed like 3 copies of the driver and the same printer was registered multiple times... I just couldn't have that. Oh and for some reason it had stopped the print spooler so I couldn't print anyways. So I went to removed all the drivers (and I think I removed all the copies, not sure how to really check...) and reinstalled the printer. Now the printer isn't working even though Windows 7 says it's ok...
Any ideas?
EDIT: oh, and any non-computer related functions work such as copying, whereas stuff like scanning/printing will not. So I figure it's something with the drivers =(
EDIT 2: working now... I reinstalled about another 3-4 times with different install settings each time, and I changed the service pack that it was in compatibility mode for; not sure which worked but atleast it's working now.
This happened before though before it turned off the print spooler, so I will mark as solved for now but It may break again. I'll update this again with info soon.
I have just replaced my dad's old computer - just the stack, have left all the peripherals as they were all fine (monitor, kb, mouse, printer). The new computer was pre-installed with windows 7. Everything seems to work perfectly but it failed when trying to install the driver for the dell photo aio 944. According to the dell and ms website it is not a supported product.I tried the xp drivers - the printer was added to the printers list but nothing would print. I tried to install the vista drivers, but got some kine of VB error when I ran the set-up.Is there any way to get this printer to work with win 7 (even with limited functionality) as I would hate to throw it away - the printer is perfect and they only use maybe once a fortnight.
windows 7 will not recognise either of my printers no matter what I do.
I have reinstalled the drivers and clicked the XP service pack 2 in compatability as I was advised on one site but it does not work - I am very frustrated with the amount of things causing trouble with Windows 7!
I have just upgraded from XP to windows 7 x64, however windows 7 has no drivers for the epson stylus 830 printer. I am now unable to use my printer. I have been onto the epson website but no driver is listed there. I have also looked for vista drivers but the printer is only supported in XP.
Does anyone know of a workaround to get this printer working in windows 7? The printer used to work in XP x64 with the epson stylus 870 printer driver as there was no x64 drivers for the 830. There is not even a windows 7 driver for the 870 so I am really stuck.
Since I installed Windows 7, My Epson Stylus photo R220 shows all ink cartridges empty.
They are completely new cartridges. Also if I boot in to a different OS ( Linux ) It shows the cartridges are full! Is there a known problem with Epson ink monitors an Win 7 ?
I have been trying to get my Dell all-in-one photo 926 printer to work for over a month. Every thing I read and try is from 2009 and the links or anything on them are either obsolete now or no longer there. When I plug my printer in, it goes through all the steps except when it comes down to the driver. I have installed, uninstalled about everything under the sun.
I have TWO computers on a "home" network (Work group, NOT Win 7 Homegroup).Computer A is new and runs Windows 7 Home Premium. Computer B is "old" and runs Windows XP Professional. Computer A has two printers attached; Epson Stylus Photo R200 and a Lexmark X3690. Both of these printers work well with Computer AComputer B has an HP LaserJet printer on the parallel port LPT1. Computer A can print documents to the LaserJet on PC B as well as photos and documents to the Epson and Lexmark printers. Computer B can print to to the laserjet and the Lexmark BUT NOT the Epson. When I try to "add" the Epson to the printers on PC B there is a message that computer A does not have the correct driver for the printer. The same message occurred when I initially "added" the Lexmark to PC B, but I was able using the CD supplied with the Lexmark to located the 32bit driver and load it onto PC A.
I tried to do the same thing with the Epson but failed to find the driver on the CD. I have tried downloading a 32 bit Epson driver from the Epson site, (using compatability mode) but even after doing that I cannot add the Epson printer to Computer B - the same message that PC-A does not have the correct driver.
I'm unable to install my Epson Stylus Photo 785epx printer program onto Windows 7 (64-bit) which is connected to a wireless home network. It hangs up and gives an error message that it isn't compatible by the OS. It worked on my Windows XP desktop fine.Epson.com doesn't NOT list any downloads for Windows 64-bit for my printer model nor am I able to find any useful links helping me with this issue on that site so please, no directions to go to the Epson web site.
Is there any photo editing software comparable to the old Adobe PhotoDeluxe. I have tried Gimp, Picasso and paid for other versions of Adobe. None are as user friendly and have the editing tools that PhotoDeluxe had.
Explorer won't update thumbnails after I alter a photo, for example by rotating sideways photos (that is, permanently rotating, using a photo editor program), or by cropping.
How do I get the thumbnails to update?
This is happening for all photos (not just certain ones).
I have tried:
- View > Refresh
- Copying the photos to a new folder and renaming them. Even if a photo has been drastically cropped, the thumbnail is still showing the original, whole one - that is, it's showing parts of the file that DON'T EVEN EXIST
- Entirely disabling the thumbnail cache: Group Policy Editor > 'Turn off caching of thumbnails in hidden thumbs.db files'. This *must* force Windows to redraw the thumbnail - but it doesn't!
- Restarting computer after each of the above steps
Win 7 Pro, 64 bit. Photos are jpegs from a new digital camera.
my win 7 photo viewer does the weirdest thing!! when i view my photos and rotate them and close the viewer, they disappear from my folder where they were originally stored in. i've checked my deleted items. no luck. searched whole pc for edited files and names of files that disappeared. no luck there either. i tested it on my hubby's pc. exact same result there.
I reformatted my HD, and reinstalled Win 7 Home Premium, and Office 10. Before it happily printed with those programs; now they say that printer won't work with Win 7.
