D630, Windows 7 x86 7100 RC1
I am not getting any sound out of my speakers that are connected to the docking station. All the sound comes out through the built in speakers. I check playback devices and "Speakers" is listed with nothing to configure.

I have already downloaded and installed the Synaptics driver and nothing happened. I also downloaded R165804.exe directly from Dell's site and it came up with an error saying that 'the software does not work on your operating system. Click OK to exit.'

have added esata port via sata port on mob; but can't locate it in device manager.
because of this, I assume that is why I can't get the eSATA cable from blacx docking station to work.
The USB cable works fine.
driver issue is only my best guess...help appreciated,and I am hoping it is simple fix.
When I remove my laptop from the docking station, the wallpaper shrinks and the shortcut icons are rearranged. annoying and time consuming.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a DELL D630 installed with Windows 7 build 7600.16385.x86fre.win7_rtm.090713-1255 The DELL specs are : T7500 2GB NVIDIA Q135M. Latest Bios A16 Ever since the fresh install Windows 7 will not restart, instead of restarting the Dell will just break to power off after the shutdown procedure. All other power settings seem just fine. Normal shutdown, Hibernate and Standby/Sleep work fine, even the CPU fan is perfectly controlled by windows. Already tried to boot in safemode, also checked the bios for power options, but there are none to control with the DELL. The DELL diagnostics is completely passed with succes. Even did a fresh install to double check.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've tried many different beta builds of Windows 7 on my Dell Latitude D610 including and up to build 7229, but they all have the same problem. Everything works great except for the video driver that is downloaded through Windows Update. The video card driver that is downloaded through Windows Udate is the "Mobile Intel(R) 915GM/GMS,910GML Express Chipset Family". Once the driver is installed, and the laptop restarted, everything looks great at the native 1400x1050 resolution until I click on the Start button or fire up IE8. Then the entire screen washes out I can't read anything. It's hard to explain, but basically it looks like the contrast and brightness is turned all the way up and makes the laptop unusuable. I tried downloading the drivers from Dell's website, but they are for WinXP only and I didn't have any luck installing them. I also tried going to Intel's website and looking for a Win7 beta driver for my video chipset but didn't find any.
