I have a Dell D630 that has the Mobile Intel(R) 965 Express Chipset. I have XP on one and 7 on the other. With my XP I can have a screen resolution of 1440 x 900 but with 7 I only get up to 1280 X 800. Anyone know how to help? I have a intel drive already installed.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a DELL D630 installed with Windows 7 build 7600.16385.x86fre.win7_rtm.090713-1255 The DELL specs are : T7500 2GB NVIDIA Q135M. Latest Bios A16 Ever since the fresh install Windows 7 will not restart, instead of restarting the Dell will just break to power off after the shutdown procedure. All other power settings seem just fine. Normal shutdown, Hibernate and Standby/Sleep work fine, even the CPU fan is perfectly controlled by windows. Already tried to boot in safemode, also checked the bios for power options, but there are none to control with the DELL. The DELL diagnostics is completely passed with succes. Even did a fresh install to double check.

I have already downloaded and installed the Synaptics driver and nothing happened. I also downloaded R165804.exe directly from Dell's site and it came up with an error saying that 'the software does not work on your operating system. Click OK to exit.'

So heres the problem the laptop starts nothing on the screen hard drive light stays on for about 2 minutes. But screen has nothing in it. But only a few times I the screen works when you start it by pressing the Fn and holding it down when you press the power button. But it takes you to the dell testing center.

The install was pretty clean without much trouble except i'm stuck with the Display being set to the Generic PnP with a terrible 640 X 480 setting. I've updated the VGA adapter to the correct Intel graphic Controller. Still researching for info on the fix for this. But wondering if anyone else has already deal with this issue.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI know from searches on here that this laptop is pretty much obsolete when it comes to finding drivers for some aspects of Win 7, but I've also found some who seem to have got it running well on it, so hoping this isn't maybe a driver problem but something else that maybe can be easily fixed.
Basically Windows 7 installed without any problems but is running in a box centred in the middle of the screen - I tried to improve it by changing up the screen res, but while that did bump it up a bit it's still well shy of the screen edges i.e. 1 inch of black all around it. Is this thus another driver issue do you reckon or does anyone know of any other way to increase the res, as I can't find anyone else with this particular problem in searches here or elsewhere (unless I'm not searching with the right terms).
Already have it installed on my desktop so the laptop was really just for backup of sorts and not the end of the world if it won't work properly, but be nice to know for sure.
I'm having a problem with my notebook. It keeps turning display off after idle for 2 or 3 minutes and going into sleep mode around five minutes after that. I did change and set power system in control panel many times but it did not work. I'm running on Window 7 home basic 64 bit.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an Acer Aspire 7741z-4433 with an Intel(R) Pentium(R) p6200 (2.13 GHz, 3MB 1.3 cache). This only happens to me while I am playing The Sims 3. I have the game set on the lowest quality settings, even though my laptop "claims" to be HD LED, etc. This issue still happens. As you may know I cannot replace the graphics card as it is apart of the motherboard, and to buy a new motherboard with a better graphics card would cost more than a new computer. I have been the my manufacture's website and tried installing an update of the graphics card, and that didn't do the trick either. I am at my wits end, and I just want to play the game without it shutting down and freezing my computer. The reason I know the error is because I do Alt + Tab to get back to the desktop. The way it acts up while I am in game is the screen blacks out but I can still see the software's mouse, and then it blinks a couple times and then freezes completely?
