my Internet connection has stop working and when I used thediagnose connection problems program it said "DNS server isn't responding". I've googled lots of forums like hewre trying many "solutions". I have tried rebooting my computer and router/modem , flush DNS, and various ipconfig command prompts ideas, virus/malware scans.
I am trying to set up the wireless internet. I am not super tech savvy, however, over the last decade I have been able to research and fix all of my computer problems myself without posting such things. Until now.
I need to set up the wireless router; however, I cannot get the LAN connection to even work with the router.
The error is stating "DNS server is not responding"
I have a Dell XPS M1730 with Windows 7 Ultimate and it was doing an iTunes update and the lid got closed during the update process. Now when I start the computer up it says "the user profile service service failed the login, user profile cannot be loaded". The computer starts up in safe mode and won't let me do a system restore because it says it is shut off. When I look at User Profiles in Windows 7, it states that the users profile is as backup and the default profile is the local profile. How can I fix my computer to get my user profile back up and working?
When you boot you get the login screen, click login, then instantly displayed with this message:"User Profile Service service failed the login.User Profile cannot be located."You cannot log into windows normally or in safe mode, I don't use the PC as its someone else's so I don't have any other information as they don't know either they just turned it off and this is what happened when they turned it on.
I've tried going into regedit and changing the RefCount to 0 and restarting but it keeps going back to 2 - it was at 3 originally but keeps reverting to 2 when I restart.
when i try to create a new user profile ~ with or without a password, it shows up on the main login page, but when i click on it to open, the message "UserProfileService_service failed the logon_user profile cannot be loaded". i have searched microsoft support with little solutions listed. and the ones that are listed seem too technical for me to be trying on my own. there are many posts there with this problem, but they all seem to be several years old.
i am using windows 7. i have never been able to create any accounts other than my administrator account & the one account i use for all my general computer use. i have been using norton 360 with no problems. i have resorted to just using any "log in/log out' links on all the sites my husband wants to use.i am really not all that confident doing anything super technical to fix this, since i don't have a real understanding of different extensions or types of files. i am afraid i could really mess everything up really bad. but, it would just be SO MUCH EASIER & FASTER if i had my account & my husband had his own account.
My wife's Dell desktop (after a nighttime thunderstorm) will not permit her to log on. When she enters the password she gets the following message: "The User Profile Service service failed the logon. User profile cannot be loaded". Has anyone encountered this issue and is there a user fix, or should we take the computer back to where it was bought for service?
Lately, sometimes at random one of my opened programs would freeze ant not respond. So I would use Task Manager to delete the process. But then that not responds and then I can't to anything and have to force restart by holding the power button.e.g. Firefox, Chrome, Task Manager are open. Chrome freezes, then task manager and firefox would be fine until i open up a new tab or affect it in anyway.
I've tried just about anything I can get my hands on for a week now and I still can't solve the problem. I keep getting disconected from the net or worse not even connected and get the message that the DNS server is not responding.I tried removing NIS (Norton) but it doesn't help, then I entered "safe mode"with networking and as a miracle everything is perfect and the speed connecting to a web page is outstanding.
My computer is only a couple weeks old. I use the latest version of Firefox and today it keeps freezing up. It will just say Not Responding. I've rebooted several times and it's still doing it. Not sure what else to do.I'm not very techie.
As an employee of Home Depot we have a website we can enter from our home computer to access our weekly hours, pay benefits, etc,. I have been using this for months. As of last week my log in page will not allow me to enter this site. I have tried everything I can think of to correct this. I've called the tech support at the Home Depot. We have reset and changed the password three times. The Tech can access the site from his side and I can go to a different computer and access it. I just can't access it from my home computer. I have a Windows 7 64 bit operating system. Question
Just wiped my computer with my Windows disc. It connects to our wifi and everything but it says the DNS is not responding, so no internet. I have a Linksys WUSB600N as an adapter that connects to our Linksys WRT320N. Manufacture: eMachines <--- Hate them!
I am working on an Acer laptop running Windows7. Internet connectivity was fine, then just stopped. I have attempted to get on the internet with multiple access points, hotspots, pdanet, 2wire router. The connection is fine to the devices, when attempting access the internet, Internet Explorer cannot display webpage. Diagnostics message isDNS server isn't responding.
I have a router which is connected to a desktop (not wireless) and a laptop which is connected wireless. On my laptop, i have internet, i have connections, i can browse the internet, but my computer says this :
Your computer appears to be correctly configured, but the device or resource (DNS server) is not responding.
when i connect to the wireless internet, my laptop seems to be connecting, but taking longer than usual.
I'm experiencing wireless connection problem right in the middle of browsing. Loading of page suddenly stops. The wireless connection seem fine cause I don't see any exclamation point appearing next to it. I tried to powercycle but it didIt comes and goes for couple of days. I troubleshoot the connection and receive this message: "Your computer seems to be correctly configured, but the device and resource (DNS server) not responding. Here is the ipconfig /all turn out:[CODE]
I'm having trouble with the internet on my laptop. It says that it is connected to my wireless but it will take a long time loading sites or just pop up an error stating the the DNS server is not responding or that the DNS lookup failed.
I have a desktop with Windows 7 on it, which hosts a virtualbox VM which runs Windows XP. For some reason I can't connect to the internet from my Windows 7 machine, however I can connect fine from the VM which runs on top of it? My wife primarily uses the VM so I'm not sure exactly when this stopped working, it used to work fine. When running the troubleshooting tool it tells me the Firewall may be preventing the program from running, so I turned the firewall off but that didn't change anything. A second problem the tool indicates is that "Windows can't communicate with the device or resource (primary DNS server)". I have tried releasing and renewing my ipconfig, also to no avail.
i have problem With my new Laptop it says DNS server not responding Router (Wifi). only pages dosnt load and it says internet access my desktop Works fine here is my internet ipconfg Microsoft Windows [Version 6.1.7600]Copyright (c) 2009 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.
Ok, after 4 days of research and much head scratching, I will enter the fray. I think that my problem is in my router after reading everything I can find on the net. I'm getting the error ' DNS server not responding' but have followed suggestions from this site and others to resolve the problem. I ran into a problem with my router, and had to do a hard reset to factory defaults. After I had restored info provided by my ISP for settings required by them, I have network connectivity and I have Internet, but the two will not connect. I can ping my router from the network, but cannot connect to the Internet. I know just enough about networking to be dangerous to my self. Unfortunately for me this is my business network, and it is vital that i have internet.
I am having problems connecting with the internet on my PC. I have a Linksys WRTP54G router and am running two computers (desktop, laptop) on wirless G and an Xbox 360 wired.
I flashed the firmware on the router and this seems to have cause problems, but the new firmware is way better for VOIP and has improved the wired connection.
Weird thing is, my laptop with the integrated wirless card connects to the internet and network without a hiccup.
The desktop keeps connecting to the network, but has no internet connection. The diagnostic says the DNS server isn't responding. Both those fields for IPV4 are set to obtain automatically, the same as my laptop. IPV6 is not being used for any of the computers.
The only difference I see between the setups are that my desktop uses a USB wireless card. For some reason when I connection to my network which is called "connection" with the desk top it shows up as "connection 2".
I have tried re-installing the USB adaptor, I have manually given IP address and the DNS servers. None of it works, keep getting "The DNS Server isn't Responding".
last night, without any reason, my f4, f5, f6, and esc keys stopped working. it solved itself, but shortly afterwords it did it again, and even after two reboots i cannot get them to work again. i use hotkeys all the time in firefox and elsewhere, and these are probably my most-used keys. they're very useful and not being able to use them feels really restricting. i don't know what caused this, but i do know that both times it happened i was browsing Internet. i don't know if that's coincidental or not, but at this point i just don't care.
Suddenly got an error saying dns server was not responding while I was trying to connect printer to wireless router. Let me know what other info you need.
