I Installed CrossFire Having played it before i upgraded, and it gave me a blue screen. I though " oh i did something wrong " So i unistalled and reinstalled, you know, the stuff you usually do.
Anyway, i've been reading around the forum and i've found other people are having this problem too, " Getting the bluescreen " Now i was wondering if their any fixes that could make the game work, Any help would be useful and much appreciated!
I've had vista for the past year and this has never happend, soon as I install Windows 7 atleast once a day my laptop will randomly "BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH" with either the error "PFN LIST CORRUPT" OR "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL_TO" can you shed any light on this?

After installing it, whenever my laptop tries to use the Nvidia card, I get a blue screen and the system restarts. I looked in installed updates to uninstall it, and it is not there. I did a system restore to four days before I installed it, and I still get the same effect. Lastly, I installed some older nvidia drivers that used to work using the clean install option, and I still have this problem.
My computer has been giving me 4 different blue screens, seemingly in random order. The most common one is BAD_POOL_CALLER, but I have also gotten IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL and most recently PFN_LIST_CORRUPT.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI just built a clean install of Windows 7 Ultimate (RTM x64) and have the system running great with one ATI 5970 video card. Upon adding a second card (in the correct x16 slot per my MB manual), rebooting shows the "starting windows" screen, proceeds past this to a black screen with a movable mouse cursor (occasionally I get an hour glass for a moment and then back to cursor).
Here's what I've tried to troubleshoot:
- Combed through the Seven Forums and couldn't find a similar issue
- Ensured BIOS was latest and chipset drivers were installed (MB = MSI x58 Eclipse SLI)
- Tried with and without the Crossfire interconnect
- Tried the new ATI hotfix drivers
- Tried Win 7 Startup Repair - no luck
- Let the machine sit overnight to see if it would eventually come up to Windows - no luck
- Tried safe mode and the machine displayed same behavior
- Removed original card to make sure card was seated in the slot correctly and power was properly connected (I have a 1KW power supply). Removing the original card, the machine booted fine on card #2.
- Removed all other cards (only other was an XiFi card) - and with two cards in, same behavior
- With one card in, uninstalled the ATI drivers, rebooted into Safe Mode and ran Guru 3D Driver Sweeper (in Admin mode) and removed any other residual driver stuff. Rebooted to ensure it was all gone (it was), and inserted card #2, same behavior
I can get it to boot to DOS boot and it passes BIOS fine - so I think it's a Windows issue or a hardware resources issue - just can't tell what it is hanging on...
how can download windows 7 disc in black screen without giving a option of F2 and F12? The screen display black screen with only tiny white half square shape on the top left corner. I removed the battery with power only connect direct and insert the disc turn it off and turn on again asuming to give me the option of F2/F12 but didn't the black screen seem to be froze. View 6 Replies View Relatedone day it suddenly crashed while i was watching a movie. it displayed random patterns on screen. kinda like part of the image from the video is on the screen then a black strip and random colors. I restarted the unit to safe mode and left it on and browsed the net and downloaded some big files for how many hours and nothing happened.. there are also times when windows is still loading with the windows logo on screen, it crashes. there are also times when the login screen is displayed and it crashes. it just crashes randomly! so i tried to reformat it. i deleted the partitions and created a new one, formatted it then fresh installed windows 7 ( my previous OS is windows 7 by the way) and started installing the basic drivers and after a few hours, it crashed again...thinking that the driver installed might not be compatible, i tried another fresh install of windows (same execution, delete partition, create, install OS) and this time, without installing the drivers, it crashed again after a few hours... sometimes it crashes immediately after turning it on from cold start!
View 7 Replies View RelatedBlue screen and freezing. This is happening frequently but never has any regularity to it. Sometimes happens after a couple of days and sometimes after a couple of minutes. Also sometimes with only one browser window open and sometimes with 15 or more. Happens with both chrome and firefox. Has not happened with other programs as this lapy only gets used for surfing/email/forums etc. Sometimes happens while the computer is sitting idle right after boot. Very strange.

If I get a second HD 5770 and put it in the other PCIe x16 slot, will I be able to run Crossfire?
The motherboard manual says that it supports Hybrid Crossfire between dedicated and integrated cards, but nothing about Crossfire between two dedicated cards.
If it doesn't support crossfire, can I still put a second graphics card in and use it in the same way?

I'm assuming it's a BIOS driver problem, but i'll leave it up to you guys to tell me, you're the experts :P I also tried doing a system restore, but for whatever reason when I try it just says the restore is initializing and it sits on that screen and never does anything. I've left it for about an hour before and still nothing, not real sure what the problem is there either. Right now I'm running the laptop off safe mode with networking and it's working fine, hopefully it's just a driver problem I can fix.
I'm on Windows 7 32bit and let me know if you need any more information.
i have a windows 7x64.Yesterday while watching videos my screen started jumping and crashed to a blue screen with(QPR is not less or equal i think) and after that i restarted and it came with other errors.Now when i switch on the laptop it only shows black screen with no option to do anything.

Since ive done this however my games randomly freeze or bsod, or freeze with a loud buzz until i shut my rig down.. i think its a driver issue, because it used to do it when i had 1 card and i bumped it down to like 11.10 and everything worked fine.. but when i got the new card, apparently 11.10 didnt support xfire.. so i had to update to 11.12.

I would like to enable Crossfire in Catalyst Control Panel, but it do not work on drivers newer than Catalyst 10.11.I got BSOD on atimkdag.sys. How to fix it ?Tried Driver Sweeper but no luck, even installing fresh system didn't worked.
Ordered a new XFX HD5850 Black edition which is being delivered tomorrow , for the nice sum of 111.Will be running it in crossfire with my current 5850.Do I just plug it in and enable crossfire in the catalyst control center or will I need to install drivers for this card first?
View 7 Replies View RelatedHey people, I am having some trouble with MSI Afterburner and its fan speed control function. I have a custom curve setup and I have it where it synchronizes both GPUs in settings and it works great when I first boot and play a game for a while but then when I let it sit and go on the internet for 10 mins or so or put comp to sleep then come back, the custom curve only applies to the main GPU, and nothing that you do in Afterburner will change the second fan speed. I tried restarting the program, putting it on manual control, changing the curve and re applying it, but nothing seems to work on the second GPU fan speed until I reboot the whole computer again.
My specs if needed:
Crossfire XFX HD 6970s
Intel Core i7 3770
ASUS P8Z77-V Mobo
16GB Ripjaws 1600MHz
1100W ABS Majesty PSU
Windows 7 64-bit
P.S. I have already tried disabling that ULPS thing in registries, which did not work.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI just installed Windows 7 64-bit last night, and the installation went without a hitch. I started to install my programs and then things started to get a little hairy. Every once in a while (ranging 3 minutes - 3 hours) my computer will blue screen out with a mention of afd.sys. This usually happens when I try to do something with the network (ex: Skype, Trillian, etc.).
I'm too new to this to know how to read minidumps, so I thought I'd give them to you guys and see how you could help me. I'm up for any suggestions on how to fix this problem. Reformatting is not an issue, as I have time to spare (when I'm not at work). My system specs are up to date in my profile.
