Caps/Num/Scroll Indicator For HP Pavilion Elite M9040n PC
Aug 11, 2012I lost this function in the lower taskbar and the volume control blue line indicator on the lower part of my screen. I'm running Windows 7. How can I get it back?

HP Pavilion Elite M9515f Hangs?
Jan 14, 2011I have a HP that is about a year and a half old. I bought it with Vista and did the Windows 7 upgrade. Last spring I started to notice a few odd issues with Windows Media Player and Aero. After hibernation Aero would stop working and Media Player would either work very poorly or not work at all. A restart would fix.I started looking for solutions online and found this was unfortunately a disturbingly frequent problem with certain HP models.
Issues:
Hybrid sleep causes Aero to stop and Media Player/Itunes to crash (winamp works)
Reboot will fix
Disabeling hybrid sleep causes system to hang
Reboot will fix
What I have tried:
Disable hybrid sleep - system hangs
Set pc to sleep after a long time (days) - system hangs
Drop from 8g ram to 4g ram - no change
Update Nvidia drivers (caused issues in some HP Win 7 machines) - no change
Update every other driver on the machine - no change
Uninstal and reinstall/update all USB (Again, known HP issue source) - no change
Tell anyone who remotely seems interested to never buy anything HP - no change but I felt better.
What I don't know:Have not reinstalled OS yet (mixed reviews as to if it will fix) - next step Flash the BIOS - Some on another forum think it may help but could also brick the mobo If this is a memory clocking issue due to PSU - No idea how to check, asjust or even what it really means?
What I may try: If the reinstall does not fix I may replace the mobo - can I reuse the OEM OS? How do I install 7? Do I have to install Vista and upgrade or just install 7?
Turn The Caps On Caps Off Display That Pops Up Off?
Oct 25, 2012issue has affected me so badly that I have had to put my studies on hold.About 2 weeks ago I bought a Samsung Series7 chronos 14 inch netbook with windows7 and I am happy with it and the system but every time I turn caps on or off (which is often as I write and use caps a lot) the big display pops up saying caps on caps off; as well as being annoying to the extreme for me,it stops me typing for a couple of seconds.I have googled this issue and even gone to another forum,someone said to me to contact the manufacturer (aka samsung) and samsung has given me a link from a forum as an answer.Nothing I have tried has worked so far.There is mention of it being a software driver issue,to go to regedit and the like.I set some value key to 0 and didn't work.Can anyone give me a solution and be clear with the answer and treat me like a beginner and explain what to do with clear steps?I am about to have a breakdown and frustrated as I fail to see who thought this pop up display is of any use? and why force it/impose it on the user?

Dec 20, 2011I don't know if I hit some key combo or what but I was typing a letter in word pad and suddenly my typing is in all caps. I have used a reg file to disable my caps lock key on this laptop because it gets in my way - a long time ago. I know it cannot be the caps lock key. I do not have a shift key sticking.
I saved the letter, then copied it to Polyedit another word processor, and it still types in all caps. Firefox does not seem to be effected. I even tried rebooting and nothing helped.
Browers Scroll When Cursor Not In Scroll Area?
Dec 22, 2011I have a gateway m-6843 laptop that originally came with vista. It has a track pad, or whatever that thing on laptops is called. I installed windows 7. In both FF and IE when the cursor is NOT in the scroll area, it acts as though I am holding on to the scroll bar. So if I move my cursor down near the bottom of the main part of the browser page (again, outside of the scroll area) it acts as if I grabbed the scroll bar and flung it down. It is intermittent, but bad enough that doing anything online is almost impossible.

Jan 3, 2010I have that sound card. I install the latest driver from Creative which is version 2.18.0013. Installs fine, reboots, then the AutoUpdate program comes up to install all the other applications for my device.
However, if I try to run like Creative Audio Control Panel, which got installed during driver installation, it says "The audio device supported by this application is not detected. The application will exit." Even if I install the other application, it will say almost the same message, when I try opening most of them.
I have researched this and contacted creative, but they are never no help, and from what I understand, lot of people are having basically the same issue with the drivers compatibility in WIN 7? Is that correct?
Does anyone know of a solution or do I just have to wait?
I have checked all hardware installations, and they are all good. This worked on Windows Vista x64 with my current system.
Logitech Elite Duo Not Supported In Windows 7?
Feb 25, 2011I just upgraded my desktop and am running Windows 7 Enterprise 32 bit. I'm now seeing problems with my old mouse and keyboard, which have worked just fine up till now.
The media keys on my keyboard work at the moment (though didn't last night and I have no idea why). The main issue is I have two extra mouse buttons that I can't seem to assign.
Logitech doesn't have drivers for me, they say that they are incorporated into Windows 7 by default. And yes, they work, but I can't assign buttons. The software for assigning the buttons, iTouch is no longer supported and doesn't work in Windows 7.
HP Elite-book Laptops Crashing While Docked?
Jan 27, 2011We are using HP EliteBook 8540p, with Windows 7 64bit Enterprise Edition. We also use the HP Advanced Docking station with these units. What I am seeing is that a fair number of the laptops (not all) are crashing after going to sleep. I have the power options on my laptop to sleep when I press the power button, and when I test this out, I can see the disk activity light just chug away, and never fall asleep. At that point the system never wakes up, and eventually crashes. I am seeing the following error from the crash report...

Lsi Megaraid 1600 Elite Scsi Card Drivers
Apr 19, 2009I have a lsi megaraid 1600 elite scsi card which is not being dected by windows 7 64bit. I have tried several drivers packages for server 2003 and 2008 but it doesnt work. Lsi does not list visa drivers for this card on thier site. Does anyone have any suggestions.

Jul 7, 2012I pulled apart my HP dv6t 6000 Quad Edition last night to clean a year's worth of dust accumulation out of it. While I was quite impressed at how sturdy the construction of the laptop was (22 good, strong screws holding in the top cover alone), I put it back together and the orange indicator light is stuck ON (the one that says if the AC cable is plugged in or not) even if it's not plugged in! So, I pulled it back apart and re-checked the power connector cable, and everything was fine and in place. It goes on even if the laptop is turned off. As long as the battery is in, that orange light turns on.
The orange light is only supposed to come on if the AC is plugged in and the battery is charging. Also, if I plug in the AC cable, it light turns off. I never actually removed the power connector cable from the system board, so there's no way it got turned around. Could this be caused, however, if another plug somewhere got turned around? For further reference, here is the manual I used. [URL]. I went as far as removing the system board.
Items I did not remove are as follows:
Power button board
Fingerprint reader board
Speaker assemblies (front and back)
(My laptop has no bluetooth module, so that's irrelevant)

Aug 4, 2011Saturday, I updated to the Windows 7 SP1. Soon after, I started having this problem with a yellow triangle in the tray icon where the internet access indicator is that says "no internet access". This is a bogus message, but its still annoying. This went away if you reboot, and then later maybe that same day the triangle would reappear. Each time I did still have internet access. I tried several other things like getting rid of IE 9 which I updated to during the same day and maybe a couple of other updates around this time.
Last night (Thur) was to get rid of the SP1 after several failed attempts. I had to do so by using the cmd WUSA etc instead of through the control panel, because it kept getting stuck trying to do the uninstall through the control panel uninstall method. This morning, it did not yet have the yellow triangle, and I will check it again this afternoon after work to make sure it has not come back again.

When I push it the computer goes back to the desktop and then two things will happen.
