We are using HP EliteBook 8540p, with Windows 7 64bit Enterprise Edition. We also use the HP Advanced Docking station with these units. What I am seeing is that a fair number of the laptops (not all) are crashing after going to sleep. I have the power options on my laptop to sleep when I press the power button, and when I test this out, I can see the disk activity light just chug away, and never fall asleep. At that point the system never wakes up, and eventually crashes. I am seeing the following error from the crash report...

Having problems exporting my comcast address book to windows live mail address book,Also tyied exporting address book from plaxo without success, please help!
I have that sound card. I install the latest driver from Creative which is version 2.18.0013. Installs fine, reboots, then the AutoUpdate program comes up to install all the other applications for my device.
However, if I try to run like Creative Audio Control Panel, which got installed during driver installation, it says "The audio device supported by this application is not detected. The application will exit." Even if I install the other application, it will say almost the same message, when I try opening most of them.
I have researched this and contacted creative, but they are never no help, and from what I understand, lot of people are having basically the same issue with the drivers compatibility in WIN 7? Is that correct?
Does anyone know of a solution or do I just have to wait?
I have checked all hardware installations, and they are all good. This worked on Windows Vista x64 with my current system.
I have a HP that is about a year and a half old. I bought it with Vista and did the Windows 7 upgrade. Last spring I started to notice a few odd issues with Windows Media Player and Aero. After hibernation Aero would stop working and Media Player would either work very poorly or not work at all. A restart would fix.I started looking for solutions online and found this was unfortunately a disturbingly frequent problem with certain HP models.
Issues:
Hybrid sleep causes Aero to stop and Media Player/Itunes to crash (winamp works) Reboot will fix Disabeling hybrid sleep causes system to hang Reboot will fix
What I have tried:
Disable hybrid sleep - system hangs Set pc to sleep after a long time (days) - system hangs Drop from 8g ram to 4g ram - no change Update Nvidia drivers (caused issues in some HP Win 7 machines) - no change Update every other driver on the machine - no change Uninstal and reinstall/update all USB (Again, known HP issue source) - no change Tell anyone who remotely seems interested to never buy anything HP - no change but I felt better.
What I don't know:Have not reinstalled OS yet (mixed reviews as to if it will fix) - next step Flash the BIOS - Some on another forum think it may help but could also brick the mobo If this is a memory clocking issue due to PSU - No idea how to check, asjust or even what it really means?
What I may try: If the reinstall does not fix I may replace the mobo - can I reuse the OEM OS? How do I install 7? Do I have to install Vista and upgrade or just install 7?
I just upgraded my desktop and am running Windows 7 Enterprise 32 bit. I'm now seeing problems with my old mouse and keyboard, which have worked just fine up till now.
The media keys on my keyboard work at the moment (though didn't last night and I have no idea why). The main issue is I have two extra mouse buttons that I can't seem to assign.
Logitech doesn't have drivers for me, they say that they are incorporated into Windows 7 by default. And yes, they work, but I can't assign buttons. The software for assigning the buttons, iTouch is no longer supported and doesn't work in Windows 7.
I lost this function in the lower taskbar and the volume control blue line indicator on the lower part of my screen. I'm running Windows 7. How can I get it back?
I have a lsi megaraid 1600 elite scsi card which is not being dected by windows 7 64bit. I have tried several drivers packages for server 2003 and 2008 but it doesnt work. Lsi does not list visa drivers for this card on thier site. Does anyone have any suggestions.
I have a 360 elite and a wireless adapter i just recently got for the 360, every time go to use media center I can get to some media and push "A" on my controller and locks up freezes then shows up with "Connection Failure:The Xbox 360 could not connect to the Windows Media Center PC. Turn your Xbox 360 off then on again, and try to connect again." when its connected through the wireless adapter. I'm running home premium 64 bit windows 7.
I have an Asus EEE PC 1005HAB Netbook. I has been out of warranty for about a Year and a half now. It shows nothing - nothing - unless connected to an eternal monitor. But the reasons that netbooks are so cool is because they're suppose to be portable , right? This means that if I have to plug it into a big hunka monitor then I might as well use a full desktop because my netbook is no longer portable. It's been going on for about six months. I'm just really good at procrastinating. I've checked display setting, so count that out.
OK .. had (actually still have since I just installed a new hard drive for a clean install of WIN 7 and have the old drive available) XP using Outlook 2003.
Installed WIN 7, loaded the new Beta version of Office Pro 2010 (hey .. it was free and good for a year).
Don't have a Personal address book. My contacts did import into the Contact Mgr but this doesn't enable me to click on several email addys so I can send to multiple people.
Is tehre anything I can do to get the same capabilities I had WIN XP and Outlook 2010 Beta?
BTW .. I also removed Ofc 2010 and went back to my tried and true Office Pro 2003 but have the same problem.
Did the same for the Thunderbird.
I have never went to Vista (so maybe some of the shortcomings/differences were addressed there). I do have a legal copy of OFC 2007 (never been unwrapped since I heard it didn't have any new features I would use over 2003 but had a different GUI look) if that would help.
Also, Don't have all the folders I had with XP and Outlook 2003. I had a LOT of messages stored in different folders but import them (or don't know how).
Like I said .. I can put my old HD in and boot up my XP if I need to do special exports or anything.
I currently have this address book on my xp desktop. I would like to use it on my HP HDX premium 16 series laptop 64 bit with windows 7.0 When I try to load the program, it says that it is not compatible. Help! How do I preserve and use my address book?
i got both my kids an asus netbook Eee pc x101ch on windows 7, a month ago for xmas, and already my daughters wont start and im quite sure she dropped it... It shows the asus logo, but then goes straight on to setup, regardless of what i press, f8/f9/f10 all go straight to setup instead of recovery partition and it just continually beeps... shes only used it twice?
How to copy XP/2007 Address Book to Pre-installed Win 7/2010 Outlook Address Book. Older desktop (Win XO, Ofc 2007) works great, but I bought a new Desktop with pre-installed Win 7 Pro and MS Office Pro 2010. I want to copy the address book in the XP Outlook into the new PC's Outlook 2010.
I just recently did a clean install of 7 Ultimate on my laptop and bought my daughter a netbook am at a loss as to how to install programs onto her netbook from my laptop, anybody know of where I can go for tutorials as to how to do this?
I use gmail. I've upgraded to windows 7. the layout is totally different. How do I reply to an email without htting compose and then typing in the email adress? How do I find my address book?
Having installed my Outlook 2003 and imported mt contacts, I cannot figure out how to import or populate my address book. Fifty five contacts, nothing in the PAB folder, and I don't see any way to import.I'd als like Outlook to forward a copy of certain emails to my cell, but that option is not in my Rules.
OK, I have OE on an XP computer. I have Thunderbird on a Windows 7 computer. I can export my OE address book to a flashdrive. But Thunderbird does not let me specify the path of the OE address book.
I have HP Probook 4520s. I have 9 cell 7200mAh battery installed on my laptop. My laptop doesn't start up when i press power button while on battery power. When i press power button LED light (where charger cable connected) blinks four or five times and stops and laptop doesn't start but when i connected charger (AC Power) then it starts up and works normally.
I have a HP Probook 4710s with built in webcam "HP Webcam [2 MP Fixed]" i don't like the settings that it has i can't see myself especially i'm black. When i put it on 640x480 i don't see a thing but when it's on 1280x720 its way better! I click on apply to save the settings on 1280x720 but when i'm having a video chat on Skype, Facebook, Msn ect... it's set to 640x480(bad quality =/ ). I have a friend who has a HP Probook 4520s his webcam is so... perfect i just love it! I asked him for his settings he didn't know where to find, neither did i.
I have a 91-year old senior citizen friend who lives several miles from me, and his kids just bought him a new computer with Windows 7. He was used to using the Outlook Express (?) on his old Windows XP machine, but now he doesn't have his old e-mail address book.
I'm wondering if there is a way somebody could go over there and cable up his old computer to the new one and import his old e-mail address book into the new computer (dumb question, I know) some where. Right now, he is using his Verizon web-mail for e-mail, and if he had the old address book imported to the new computer, perhaps there's a way to export it to the Version web-mail?
I tried to restore Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit on a new 700GB hard drive on my ACER Inspire X3950 by using the 3 recovery DVD's that were created by ACER eRecovery Management Software. The computer won't boot even when Safe Mode is selected.
Is it a formatting issue of the new hard drive? The original hard disk was 1TB and had three partitions: PQSERVICE ~35GB, BOOT SERVICE (or some title like that) 100MB, and ACER with the remainder of the space. How should the new hard drive be formatted?
