Oct 10, 2011I recently sent my laptop to HP for a fan repair and before I sent it off I accidentally deleted my Downloads folder and then cleared out my recycling bin.Well, I got my laptop back today and went to download a few files. After doing so, I realized that I can't find those downloaded files. I have no idea where those files went. They were .rar and ZIP files and I can't seem to locate them. Does anybody know how I can find those downloaded files (where they might have ended up with the Downloads folder gone) and how I can restore my Downloads folder

Jul 5, 2012After installing a trial version of AutoCad Inventor, ( Win7 Ult 64-bit > Dell Precision T5400) I find that I am not not allowed to download anything. I did turn off Windows firewall and defender and anti-virus as advised when downloading, changed the UAC (User Account Control), but when trying to download the new version of Firefox it stops with "you don't not have sufficient rights to allow this" to thereabouts.
I've gone through every security and administrator setting I can, in System, msconfig, and so on. I've restarted, shut down, "changed user"- whatever I can think of.

Sep 19, 2011I cannot open the start menu or open any downloads. When I click on any of these the screen flashes blue then goes away. At times it flashs and opens a little window and ask me to type in the folder name where I want to put the download. I cannot open system restore until I go through the help menu and it gives me the link. I can open the icons on the desktop. I use Internet Explorer for my browser but, it does this no matter which browser I use. I have Windows 7 64 bit Dell Inspiron.

Sep 23, 2012I will start by saying I built the machine myself and originally I thought it was a ram stick, found one that I took out and the freezing stopped but it was the coincidence. It will freeze sometimes within 5 minutes or 1 hour. It is seemingly random. It will freeze with the full 16gb of ram and when i take out the stick with 12gb as well, and I figure its not the ram anymore and thats why I turn to you. I think it may be a software bug or something thats not installed.I have tried to install all the drivers that are out and the freezing happens sometimes when i go to install a program, download a driver, download a torrent, it seems during processes it just stops, screen locks up and it needs to be re-booted.Cant alt-tab, cant alt+ctrl+del or anything.Is there a program I can run to check everything? or a log or screenshots of a file or anything that you guys could use to diagnose? I'll get you anything you need, its frustrating that such a beautiful machine is freezing Also another thing that makes me think that its software rather than hardware is the fact that when i try to install windows updates they fail with an error 800B0100 and I have tried resetting the updater and running Microsoft tools and troubleshooters, nothings working[CODE]

May 4, 2011I use the latest version of firefox and use Dodo wireless broadband and I can never get beyond 98% of a download, it's very frustrating when certain programs have to be updated to even run. According to dodo's signal charts I should be in the best location for their signals and when I contact them they refuse to take any responsibility for it. I wasted countless gigs on downloads that just won't finish. Is there anything I can do to make the downloads finish? I've tried disabling my anti virus, firewalls, tried using IE8, NOTHING WORKS!

Feb 10, 2013I am working on my daughter's Presario CQ 56-115DX Notebook running Windows 7. It has been running erratically and has a lot of junk on it and no anti virus. I have tried to install several free antivirus programs and also a Revo Uninstaller with both IE, Chrome and Firefox. All Downloads are blocked (or automatically "cancelled") including your TSG SysInfo. I turned off the Firewall but that didn't help. I also did a System Recovery back to 1-30-2013 to no avail.
