View 9 Repliesbrand new lappy. its the Acer travelmate 5740G fantastic specs - everything is nice and responsive, except that i can't connect my wireless at uni. the tech guy had a look at it and he can't figure it out either. we did everything, including shutting down (eventually deleting) the AV because of its firewall. we set up the network exactly as everyone else does (and it works for everyone else).
the computer keeps suggesting that we check the router (but the router works). i can get net through RJ45 no worries but... i want my wireless to work.
A few days ago my computer (an ASUS Eee Netbook) suddenly stopped being able to connect to the wireless network in my apartment, seemingly for no reason whatsoever. It had been working fine earlier in the day, I went out for about an hour (didn't even shut the computer down), returned home and was unable to connect to the network. The computer can locate the network and continues to attempt connecting to it with no luck. I can connect to other networks without any trouble. It has never done this before. I've rebooted the computer several times and performed a System Restore, but without any success. I'm hesitant to reset the router as this is a shared connection with the other people in my apartment (who as far as I know aren't having any trouble with the connection).

View 1 Replies View Relatedone of my user's laptop wireless is working properly until the laptop can't see any wireless. i already checked the settings of the laptop, even if the wireless is set to broadcast, i cant see or connect to any wireless..under control panel > network and internet > network and sharing center, on the left side of the screen i can't see the option "manage wireless settings". that's why i cant add any SSID of the router. i already checked the drivers and update it but still theres no wireless detected. when i run the windows troubleshoot i got this error saying "windows could'nt automatically bind the ip protocol stack to the network adapter".
View 2 Replies View RelatedI used to use my laptop to connect to this router's wifi and have no problem at all.Recently I am unable to connect to it most of the time, and it shows a yellow triangle on the wifi signal icon with an exclamation mark , sometimes okay but then very slow. iPad and iPhone can both connect to the wifi with no problem, and my friend's laptop is fine as well.So it seems that it is my laptop's problem.I tried to use the cable to connect and is fine though somehow still a bit slower than normal
View 1 Replies View RelatedWe have a windows 2000 server, a few XP, 1 vista and 1 windows 7. Everything works fine before but all in a sudden, only the Windows 7 cannot connect to the server. The 7 is a new PC, it works and connect to the server fine for the first 3 months, but all of a sudden, it just cannot connect and keep prompting that the user name and password is wrong. I have re-install the 7 (it is HP and we use the recovery disc) and I even get a new wireless adapter to test, the 7 can get on the internet, everything except the server. But all others windows has no problem with the server, I am guess it has to do with the 7. I am getting so frustrated that I also gonna use that HP windows 7 into a door stopper.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've had windows 7 for months now on my new computer, but one day programs just seemed to stop working on the internet. First it was chrome, then it was a few games. Occasionally when I restart my computer everything can connect again. But it's starting to be more frequent that I can't. However, skype has managed to connect 100% of the time. I also noticed that it takes quite awhile for the computer to connect to the internet.
So far I've tried making new user accounts, renewing my ip, and uninstalling some new programs, but no luck at all. My antivirus picked up an infection but cleaned it, it's nod32 AV5.
edit: Ran windows 7 help and it found that it can't connect to the DNS server.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently bought a TP-LINK TL-WN350GD wireless network card, inserted it into a PCI-E slot and installed the drivers, but can't seem to get it to work. It appears in Device Manager as 'Atheros AR5007G Wireless Network Adapter' and apparently 'this device is working properly', but infuriatingly it won't detect any wireless networks. I've tried using the drivers that Windows 7 installed automatically and also the drivers that came on the disk with it, but all to no avail. When I troubleshoot the card, I get the message that 'there might be a problem with the driver for the Wireless Network Connection 2 adapter', but this is all I can find. It's especially irritating as I picked the (admittedly lower-end) card because it's definitely compatible with Windows 7 (I already tried one which wasn't).My PC has Windows 7 64-bit, has an AMD Athlon 4600 dual core CPU and 2 gigs of RAM.

For the past few weeks I have been having problems with my HP laptop.
For starters my laptop will not restart. I try to restart it and it shuts down, but won't reboot all of the way. It gets stuck on the black screen you get just before the HP sceens comes up. So I have to press the power button ( after which I do, I get a loud POP sound before the computer shuts off ) and then turn it on again myself. Also, if my computer goes in to sleep mode due to inactivity, it will not wake up. I have to press the power button to turn it off, and then start it up again.
After this happens, my laptop cannot detect any networks. I have to unplug the charger, and then I have to take out the battery and put it back in before it detects networks.
I took it to best buy ( where I bought the computer and have a warranty at ) and they did a diagnostic test and determined that I had several viruses causing the problems. After paying 200 bucks they ''fixed'' my computer and I brought it home, only to have the same exact problems I was having before.
A few months later i wanted to upgrade my 32 bit to 64, since i could only use 3,16 GB ram, and my computer has 8GB. So i bought a win 7 home premium 64 bit and installed it. Now i face the same problem, my computer can not detect any wireless network adapter, though i'm 99% sure that my computer has one.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI recently bypassed my previous BSOD issue by simply replacing my HDD with a SSD and doing a fresh install of Windows 7 64bit Pro.
Where the computer is currently located, I need to run wireless internet. To do this, I have used a NetGear wireless adapter "WNDA3100v2". It's a nice adapter, and it's worked fine for about 2 years, including immediately prior to adding my new SSD.
So I fire up my fresh copy of windows, and install my critical software. Once all of that is sorted, I go to install the drivers from the CD. I insert the USB adapter, and click next.
As soon as the adapter is inserted, Windows begins searching for a driver which fails. On the same instant that I click next, the proprietary software for the device says "detecting". This stays this way infinitely it seems, and never detects the device. If I just yank the adapter out, it will say "failed to detect", so this leads me to believe it is at least aware that it's there?
I tried to backdoor it, and ran a wired connection through my window, down the outside of the house, to my router LOL, and forced Windows to search for it's own updated driver. On most occasions, it just says "failed", but I was able to get it to find one last night, and it downloaded to 100% before it just hung up for a while, and then "failed".
I just upgraded my home network with wireless N.
USB wireless adapter is dlink DWA-130C, driver installed properly and windows 7 32bit detected it correctly as DWA-130C on device manager but it could not find any network in my area.
When I do troubleshoot, windows tell me that driver may not installed properly.
FYI it happened with my older G USB adapter too, when I uninstall the driver to update, it installed normally but then it does not detect any network. I have to do system restore to make it work again.
Any idea?
I installed a microsoft mouse and when I did the restart my wireless completely dissapered. I can get a conection using a cable, and the wire less signal is there because I am on in now (android) So... I`ll list every thing I've already tried so not to waste anyones time. After the Complete system restore...which I saw the wireless stuff reinstall I thought I was gtg..but sadly not even that worked. I looked up the drivers and tried installing, that failed. When you look in the device manager there is no wireless adapter It's an Acer Aspire 5253, win 7/64
View 9 Replies View RelatedI was using a Microsoft Wireless Mobile Mouse 3500, which has worked flawlessly for me until now, when it suddenly stopped working. I was simply watching a video embedded in a webpage when it suddenly stopped late on the night of October 3rd (a few hours ago). I've downloaded or installed nothing. The mouse is in use 18 inches from the tower. It's plugged directly into the tower. Thinking I would reinstall the device driver I uninstalled it, but now Windows won't recognize my mouse at all.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have just moved house and been given the internet details by the landlord. The provider is Virgin and the landlord asked for my MAC addresses of each device to allow access to the internet and gave me the password. I managed to connect on my iPhone and my housemate who is also running windows 7 off a laptop can also connect. However the network does not even appear in my wireless list. Several other wireless networks in the area are being detected but not the one in the house. I know it's not hidden as I can connect on other devices.
I have tried a manual setup with the network name, encryption etc and tick "allow connection even when network is hidden" but all to no avail. Unfortunately I have no access to the router as the landlord has that next door, however seems strange it would be a router issue if the other devices connect fine. I have been through all the settings with my housemate and ensured we have the same setup and am now thoroughly baffled and annoyed.
I am running windows 7 home premium 64 bit. And an atheros AR5B95 wireless network adaptor. Two weeks ago I discovered rootkit 0access on my computer, and after much hassle, performed a factory restore to fix the situation. Since then my computer has been mostly unable to detect wireless connections. I say mostly because upon occassion it will see my wifi connection, but be unable to connect to it, and it will soon drop seeing the connection moments after anyway. I performed a hard reset of my modem with at&t customer service, and walked through every possibility that it could be a modem issue. This was further proven by an additional laptop having no issue with the wifi connection, and that my laptop is having this problem with every wifi connection. [code]

Last night my router was working fine, and then all of a sudden my Internet stopped working. when i woke up i figured out that with a Ethernet cord the Internet works, but going wireless doesn't work. its not in my computer since it also wont work on my ps3.
When i try to connect to it, it either says it cannot connect, or connects and says i have Internet but doesn't let me actually load anything.
I have had my HP Pavilion dm4 for a year and a half now, and when my school gave me a copy of Windows 7 Enterprise (it came with Windows 7 Home) I installed it and all the necessary drivers, and everything's been running smoothly - til now.Tonight all of a sudden my Internet connection showed that it was connected but had "limited connectivity" - aka no Internet. So I restarted my router - no luck. Then I restarted my computer, and my F12 wireless button showed orange - meaning that wireless capability was turned off entirely. It wouldn't turn back on even if I pushed the button, so I went into Control Panel and did some diagnostic thing and it forced the wireless capability back on and it worked again. For about an hour. Then the button went orange again and the diagnostic couldn't turn it back on.So, I went into wireless connections and disabled and reenabled the actual connection rather than the adapter, and it worked again - for about another hour.I don't think it should be a driver problem seeing as I can make it turn back on for certain periods of time and it's worked fine until now. Does anyone know what to do?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have just installed Windows 7 onto my Dell Inspiron 6400 laptop. My laptop now detects a number of wireless networks in the vicinity but not my own. It is not a problem with my router because other laptops can pick up the connection no problem. I have Googled this problem and see a lot on issues with Windows 7 and picking up wireless signals. But I haven't seen any threads which deal specifically with the situation where only one wireless network cannot be detected.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have Asus eee PC since 2010 with Win 7 and never had any problem. I was working on my laptop without any problem. But for last couple of hours I am not able to connect to my wireless network. It doesn't show any network. It only shows the message "Not connected. No connections available". I have internet service through out the house. Wireless is also working on my IPod, IPad and IPhone. I have desktop connected with network wire and internet is working just fine. When I connect my EEE with network cable, everything is working as expected. Only wireless is not working.
I already tried the following:
1. Restarted my eee pc
2. Restarted wireless router (doing this before, would remove any problem but not this time)
3. Tried clicking Fn + F2 buttons
Also, few minutes back my machine was updated with automatic update of Win 7 SP1. Nothing is working.. I don't know what happened. It is so frustrating to see things stop working without any valid reason.
My wireless network suddenly is not showing up on the list of available networks anymore. It was working fine and suddenly (maybe after some Windows updates?) it just disconnected and it is not on the list.Other networks show on the list and the network adapter is working. The network is working too, I can connect my other devices.
