KB2586448 will not upload onto my system. It is an Explorer 9 update. The error code I get is 80073712. I have checked the Microsoft website and followed their instructions but to no avail.

I have a problem with Windows Explorer, I searched for a valid solution besides reinstalling or creating a new user (profile), both solution that I find unacceptable but to no avail. Expected behavior from Windows Explorer. You copy a file into a folder, you want it to automatically get into order in whatever sorting order you choose. Current behavior of my Windows Explorer, when I copy a file into a folder or if I rename a file and want Explorer to update I have to hit F5 (Actualiser (in french)). Since my Windows in is french I have some difficulty to find the correct wording to conduct the search.

View 5 Replies View RelatedYou know how when you make changes inside a folder or any directory under windows 7 using explorer, updates, new files downloaded, any changes will reflect in that folder listing/view instanteously, without you having to hit the "refesh" button on the address bar to see what changes took place in that folder.My problem is with the new Fantom Drive ext USB HDD I bought. Anything I do inside that drives folder hiearchy of files. Like downloading new files from firefox, or unraring a bunch of archives; all changes will not show until I go manually hit the folder refresh button every time.Why is that not automatic? Like it is with my main internal C Drive, and my other ext usb LaCie HDD.

Restarted this a.m. tried to stream the Arsenal match and mozilla would crash every time I tried to leave the home page. Went to IE, watched the match, and then began to TS moz. After a bit I decided to unistall. Upon trying to reinstall i get a corrupt file error msg during extraction. I then tried to d.l. Chrome and had problems w. that too. Yet amazingly enough, IE works fine. Is this Microsoft just f'in w. me 'cause I'm not amused?I also notice that in my start menu I have no quick select icons for network connections, control panel, etc.

my computer went haywire last night, the explorer.exe keeps shutting down if i try to access My Computer and it is also not registering my second hard drive, it shows that it is there but the files are inaccessible. up until last night everything was working fine and i didnt have a single problem, on Wednesday night i put the computer to sleep and didn't touch it again until about 9pm Thursday night. when i turned on the computer it tried to recover on its own and it froze up, so i let it try and do its thing for about 20 min with no progress so i shut it off. i don't see why this problem would suddenly occur especially if nobody has even looked at the computer.

Windows Task Manager is not open, and I have two icons in my tray for it, both frozen. How do I get the thumbnails to update?
This is happening for all photos (not just certain ones).
I have tried:
- View > Refresh
- Copying the photos to a new folder and renaming them. Even if a photo has been drastically cropped, the thumbnail is still showing the original, whole one - that is, it's showing parts of the file that DON'T EVEN EXIST
- Entirely disabling the thumbnail cache: Group Policy Editor > 'Turn off caching of thumbnails in hidden thumbs.db files'. This *must* force Windows to redraw the thumbnail - but it doesn't!
- Restarting computer after each of the above steps
Win 7 Pro, 64 bit. Photos are jpegs from a new digital camera.
I'm out of ideas. I've been running Win 7 on this machine for more than a year without issues in updating etc. Now it will not search or update/install critical items. I'm running Symantec (even tried turning the firewall off without any success). I get an error code 80072F7C. When I run hijackthis, I get an error message that my system denied write access to the Hosts file. I proceed with the scan but am unable to produce a log file. I've included a screenshot from the windows update error as well as the error I get when trying to run hijack this.

nvidia - Graphics adapter WDDM1.1, Graphics Adapter WDDM1.2, Other hardware - NVIDIA GeForce GT 425M.
After installing it, whenever my laptop tries to use the Nvidia card, I get a blue screen and the system restarts. I looked in installed updates to uninstall it, and it is not there. I did a system restore to four days before I installed it, and I still get the same effect. Lastly, I installed some older nvidia drivers that used to work using the clean install option, and I still have this problem.
A while back, after successfully downloading and installing some updates in the Windows Update, it prompted me to restart the computer to finish the update installation process. However, I continued to use the computer for quite some time before restarting it, and then when it tried to configure the updates on the start-up screen, it showed that it was not successful in doing so. In the past, I noticed that this would typically happen when I did not restart the computer immediately (or within a short time) after the updates finished and I got the prompt to restart. I would have to go to Windows Update and do it over again, and then upon immediate restart, it would always work properly. But this time, it did not, and I keep getting the 8000FFFF error message instead.
Also, now, every time I start the computer, it shows that it's "Preparing to configure Windows... Do not shut off computer" (presumably the updates that never got completely and correctly configured) in the start-up screen... gets to 35%..fails... shuts down (screen goes black)... restarts again... tries to configure again, fails again, shuts down and restarts again... tries to configure again, fails again, and finally it apparently gives up and says "reverting changes" and finally goes to the desktop.I've looked at the answers in several threads at the answers.microsoft.com forum that were started by people with similar problems, and also tried several of the Microsoft "FixIt" files on the Microsoft site, but none of them worked. I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium.

The indentation on the display is very slight and hard to see so that it is very hard to tell where a subdirectory starts and ends. It takes a long time to fill in the file structure so that after several seconds, even minutes, the display is still jumping around. There are a lot of things that I like about W7 but this is NOT one of them. I use windows explorer a lot.

Previously i used Auslogic Boostspeed to optimize my computer. Instead it backfired and deleted my System 32. After i reinstalled my Windows normally and got my programs fixed i can't update through Windows Update. Nor can i reinstall or unistall Microsoft Word 2010. I updated, rebooted, and now Windows Update no longer works: the icon is missing from the menu item, and when I click it nothing happens. The Windows Update service is running; tried restarting that as well. Tried a .NET cleanup utility, but all that seemed to do was remove or break one of the .NET version installations (a game that uses .NET complained after running the utility, and stopped complaining after I manually re-installed .NET 3.5 and updates).
