I am having trouble downloading from web pages. Everything that I try to download I can't. A window pops up in the bottom of my computer and says that the download contained a virus and was deleted. I am an online student and need some guidance. This has been going on for two weeks now. I don not have an anti virus anymore because I did a system restore and it wiped out my antivirus protection, and since everything that I try to download contains a virus and is deleted, I cannot get another anti virus. I even tried using my flash drive
To all that may be having problems and need assistance: STAY AWAY from the website FREE PC TECH! I was looking for a problem with one of my XP laptops, was steered to it on a forum (tom's computing net) and downloaded three boot discs. Today, MSE caught the viruses and removed them from my laptop. The most severe one, I forgot to write down the name of it, but it was a password stealer. The other two (medium risk) were Tool:Win32/Angryscan.A & Remote Access:Win32/RealVNC.
These two were said to be a privacy risk or could cause computer damage. There are a whole page of boot and recovery discs here, but stay away. It took a while, but MSE fixed the problems. I'm beginning to be impressed with MSE. Usually, Avast places these files in the virus chest, but MSE deleted or destroyed them.
I am using windows 7 64 bit home basic operating system, i have confusion, which antivirus will be support to this OS.Download kaspersky anti-virus for windows 7 64 bit
I've had the ramnit virus on my computer. Long story short, i had to nuke my laptop to get rid of it. My problem is that the virus is on the USB stick. So is there anyway i can format the USB stick without the virus jumping onto my laptop?
My os is win 7 ultimate, i try to down load and save or run, and soon as download is complete it say's there is a virus and deletes.Anybody got any ideas what going on.I have two computers same os, doing same thing
I was infected by a virus. It makes the shift key get repeatedly pressed over and over. This happened to me before and I solved it by scanning with MalwareBytes and AVG. When I went to scan with MalwareBytes it needed updating, so I let it. Unluckily for me MalwareBytes thought it would be kind and restart the computer without my consent. Now, due to the virus, I can't login to my account to do anything, even in safe mode.
I recently downloaded Microsoft Security Essentials and now I think I have some sort of virus. Within minutes of logging onto my computer, a message keeps popping up that there is a critical error and that the computer will restart within one minute. I have tried to do anything I possibly can to get rid of this issue! It does the same thing while booting up in safemode as well. I also tried to restore my computer to a previous date before this occurred, and it still keeps happening. I figured i'd try to restore it to factory settings also, but it does not give me the option while booting up (f11), or on my control panel. I also tried using the TDSSkiller but my computer reboots before the scanning/fixing finishes.
I just got some virus that im assuming is either scareware or ransomware that prompted me to buy some windows 7 recovery bs. I managed to remove the virus, i think so at least, with Malewarebytes software but now all my programs are gone.
cleaning up this virus to restore my program folders that are showing up as empty.Unfortunately, I ran a temp files cleaner and I no longer have the smtmp folder. Is there a way for me to restore this? There is no way I am going to restore all those shortcuts manually!
Ok so today i was clearing some data with the Disk Clean Up, almost right after that my computer became extremely slow and unresponsive, I found that my McAfee Security that came free with the laptop was Turned Off and it wont Turn On again. I have tried Installing AVG, running an Rkill that i downloaded last year and have done a System Restore as far back as possible but still my computer becomes unresponsive and wont open any programs unless i'm in safe mode.
I am now struggling with a virus that seems to have imbedded itself in my windows 7 system.I tend not to use it too regularly but the boyfriend does use it to play games in Facebook. I am running a Norton antivirus which has been pretty good up till now. The computer seems to be running fine but my email account has been hijacked and on finding this out I have checked the computer and tried to perform a scan of both the windows system and also my accounts to no avail. The desktop symbols are all in place but none of them are working. I have also tried running a scan in safe mode, once again it would not work. The task manager did not show any action with regards to the antivirus scan that I had requested it to perform.
I have already scanned with Tdsskiller, malawayrebytes, microsoft security essentials and nothing comes up but my homepage in my browser( IE, firefox, and google chrome) always changes back to fbdownloader. Only browser I can use safely is safari. I have downloaded esets and aswmbr(crashed my computer). Still dont know what to do.
I removed a virus from my friends e machine net book a week or so ago it was the system tool 2012 virus.it was removed fully and have checked this via AV and malwarebytes etc.but since then the internet always finds wifif points and connects but always says limited connection.
I can't seem to see any of my folders on my laptop the wallpaper is now all black and there are only 2 icons on my desktop are my files deleted or just hidden.
i recently scanned my pc with avast and it said seven threats were found severity high. i was wondering is it best to move the virus to chest , repair it, or delete it. that's the options i can do. if i click delete, will it get rid rid of the virus. which would u recommend so it goes away from my pc and what does move to chest, repair and delete mean
i built a sandy bridge computer 5 months ago and it worked out great. however today (more specifically this night), i am getting a werfault error when i try to run my calculator (calc.exe). bare with me because this is off the top of my head. the error says something like cannot find reference in *memory address* then gives me another error saying that calc.exe couldnt start correctly. my first initial thought is that i should run memtest and what not. but i wanted to try to do a system restore first to see if it clears up anything. however, i am prevented from restoring my computer. i would run it and select a date and confirm the restart but then it comes back with system restore has failed/errored. so i am thinking it could be a virus that deleted something important and prevented me from restoring my computer.not sure if these things indicate something else, but i have also encountered "video driver stopped responding and has recovered". in addition, my task bar has been changing from windows 7 theme to a windows 98 type bar and back.
I am considering installing Windows 7 Professional on a Macbook Pro using Bootcamp and partitioning the hard drive. I understand that when you do that your computer is then prone to viruses. But I was wondering, if you get a virus using Windows 7 on a Mac, does it only effect the Windows Partition or does it effect the whole Hard Drive?
Recently this program popped up and said my registry is infected clled registry optimizer and asks me to buy the program. how do i get rid of it. i got avast free. superantispyware free, and malwaire bytes free. if u tell me to scan with one of them, tell me shall i do quick, full, and shall i do it in normal mode or safe mode. im confused when i should use normal, when shall i use safe.
I am fixing to get a new computer and will be needing anti virus for it. I'm not asking what is the best free anti virus out there. Money is not an issue, I want the best all around anti virus to date. I am using avast pro right now, but felt like there is probably something better. I am debating on BitDefender, kapersky, Norton, or maybe put Avast back on.
