Can't Get Full 2560 Resolution From Nvidia Quadro NVS 295
Oct 16, 2012
After fitting a Nvidia NVS 295 card into my new Advent computer (Foxconn mobo, i5, 8GB RAM) my DELL ULTRASHARP U2711 will not display at its maximum 2560 x1400 res. I can only get 1920. In fact 1920 is the highest selectable in the Nvidia control panel. I let the Nvidia installer set up everything without removing the onboard AVG driver first - I assume it did this automatically? I am using the DVI cable that came with the Dell. What am I doing wrong? I have used the latest Windows7 64bit driver download from Nvidia website.

I have an nVidia Quadro in my desktop here at work, just installed Windows 7 Pro 32Bit (trying all the flavors before rolling out to prospective clients).
I can get multiple displays running but I've encountered a problem that has driven me to the breaking point.
From my onboard VGA, I can get full resolution and a great picture. From my Quadro all I get in dual dispaly (not the full 3 or 4 I want) and when it does display on two screens together, it's mirrored.
The display options are only seeing the monitors and Generic PnP and it detects the two both as monitor "1". Their resolution is stuck to 1024x768.
Here's the stranger part: In my Hardware Profiles, it has 2 Standard VGAs listed in Device Manager and 2 "Intel(R) 82915G/GV/910GL Express Chipset Family". One of the "Intel" chip and one of the "Standard VGA" each are showing that the devices could not start.
I've uninstalled the drivers for all 4, rebooted, removed them from device manager and even switched my BIOS to boot from the onboard instead of Auto (Dell BIOS).
To finally confound things more, when I do reboot, guess what displays on the BIOS? QUADRO!
My BIOS obviously recognizes and identifies the card, but 7 is just throwing it down. I've tried the new Forceware drivers as well as every driver nVidia had listed for Windows 7 32bit for every model of NVS Quadro with no avail, it just says that no matching hardware is found.
Can this be addressed and fixed or should I just start getting rid to roll over clients video cards like crazy?

Thought I'd make a post of this since I had trouble getting my graphics driver working with build 7264 x64 and the latest 7600 x64 release..
The driver I used earlier was presented on windows update as a
(WDDM Pre-release) (does not show up with build 7264 x64 and latest 7600 x64)
Download this driver -> http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/nvidia/185series/18624_win7x64.exe
When you extract it you will find a zip archive called: additional_infs.zip
Inside this archive extract the file called: nvlt.inf
Put it with the rest of the files you extracted from the .exe file.
The driver is not digitally signed, but you will at least get your video card working

I recently installed an Nvidia Quadro CX card under Windows 7 (risky, I know). Although I'm using the latest drivers from Nvidia, I can't get the second monitor to display through the displayport-to-DVI adapter.
I can swap cables all day long and each monitor works fine with the DVI connector; it's just that nothing is detected when plugged into the second output (displayport).
Has anyone else run into this problem with Windows 7 build 7000?

I've recently installed (evenutally) Windows 7. I say eventually because I have been having big problems with my monitor going into sleep mode.
Basically when I installed windows 7 it would go into the starting windows screen and then after that the monitor would go to sleep and not let you click anything.
I then rebooted the computer and pressed F8 to go into safe mode. No joy, the installation could not be completed in safe mode. So i rebooted again and tried to go into the computer in 640x480 mode. Success!
I was then able to complete the installation of windows. I then went to increase the screen res to the recommended 1280x1024. The computer thought about it and then put my monitor into sleep mode and then 10 seconds later rebooted my computer, forcing my POST screen to say "Hyper Transport Flood Error, press F1 to continue", or something like that.
I then realised that I hadnt installd my video drivers, so i booted back into windows (640x480) and went to install my graphics drivers (NVIDIA GTX 260), half way through the installation my screen went black, into sleep mode and then rebooted my computer.
I then booted into safe mode, which i can now do because i have completed the installation, and installed my graphics drivers. After this i booted back into normal windows with 640x480, checked my graphics had installed, and they had, and then windows said they recommend i change my res to 1280x1024, i did this and guess what... my pc rebooted!
I then rebooted again (640x480) and tried my graphics at 1024x768. Joy! it worked, i rebooted windows and let it go straight ahead without me pressing anything and it works fine!
The only problem is, how do I get a higher screen res than 1024x768?
I have the latest NVidia Graphics drivers and it worked fine in Vista and XP.

After installing windows 7 and all drivers for my Samsung t220 screen and Nvdia GeForce 9800 GT, neither windows 7 nor Nvidia reconognize 1680x1050 resolution. Maximum resolution permitted is1280x1024, very deficient. Had no problem with XP and analog cable). I have tried powerstrip and created a personal driver with a 1680x1050 resolution, but with the same negative results. Buying "just" another screen is no option! Samsung doesn't provide specific drivers for windows 7.

I have an Nvidia GeForce FX 5200 Video card with 256 MB of RAM.
The card seems to work quite well with Windows 7, except that the highest resolution I can get with the present driver is 1280 x 1024, but this naturally stretches the screen. I can set it to a nice 1280 x 800 which looks pretty good on my 19" monitor.
However, I would like to get a resolution of 1440 x 900 for my 19" monitor but this options is not available. Do I perhaps have the wrong driver? I am presently using the one I downloaded with Windows 7 in the Device Manager. The driver version is 9.6.8.5 and is dated 10/9/2006.
It is not on this list on the Nvidia site
http://www.nvidia.com/object/io_1241025430517.html
Will windows perhaps be updating this driver for this card? Is there something I am not getting here?
Also, I do not know if this card is going to get more support from Windows.
Supposedly this driver will work for windows 7 but I have been unable to successfully install it.
http://www.nvidia.com/object/winvista_x86_96.85_2.html
Any help in this area for this card would be nice. I really like Windows 7.

I have been trying to fix this problem for 1 week, still have the problem unfortunately
Since I installed Windows 7 final version: While playing a movie in full screen, the rendering is some kind of pixelated ( shapes are pretty ugly :/ ). I have the problem with anykind of video ( .avi, .mkv, DVDs... ), with all my video players ( Media player classic, VLC... ).
I did not have the problem with my older config ( win 7 RC ) and have since I formated my computer to install windows 7 final ( home premium N ).
The only way it worked on my new windows 7 installation, was with a very old driver ( 169.62 ), but games work pretty bad with this driver
To see the problem, you can look the man at the right background :
Screen sample of my rendering :
Sample with another WORKING computer :
My old working configuration :
OS : windows 7 RC : version 7100
GC : geforce 8800 GTS 512 (MSI)
drivers version : 190.62
My old not working configuration ( after formating and installing final version of windows 7 ) :
OS : windows 7 home premium N
GC : geforce 8800 GTS 512 (MSI)
drivers version : 190.62 or all other generic nvidia or MSI's official drivers, exept the only "first" driver of the graphic card (169.06) in its box
My new not working configuration :
OS : windows 7 home premium N
GC : geforce GTX275 twin frozr OC (MSI)
drivers version : 190.62 (MSI driver) or any above nvidia generic driver
Anyone having the same issue, or have fixed it yet ?
Anyone having Windows 7 ( N version ) and not the problem ?
Could have something with the version of windows ? ( windows home premium "N" do not include native Windows media player ).

ancient cards but they will do for the machine I want to put them in. I just want to know which one would be better? Both cards have 128 MB of DDR VRAM, and PCI-Express. The Radeon card has no fan, just a heatsink, while the Quadro has a fan. Currently this system is running Windows XP, but I might put Windows 7 x86 on it.The PC is a Dell Optiplex GX280:
3 GB of DDR2 RAM
3.2 GHz Intel Pentium 4 HT
80 GB SATA HDD
The main thing this system is being used for is Adobe CS4.

I have Dell Optiplex GX260 system. I intalled Windows 7 Ultimate on that. The resolution of screen is fine but it is not supporting 1280 x 1024 resolution and videos are not playing properly. It was not taking audio drivers as well but when I ran the SoundMax drivers for XP in compatibility mode they were installed. But display drivers are not getting installed. I even tried the various driver from Nvidia for XP/Vista/Win 7, but none of them works.

I have recently been running my computer for really long periods and have only just turned it off last night. When I turned it on this morning it did a file corrupt scan which sometimes randomly happens. When windows fully loaded the screen resolution had been changed, almost to safe mode resolution.
So iI have tried changing the resolution (Normal is 1920x1080), with no luck. Even though it says it is on 1920x1080 (recommmended), I know for a fact that it's not actually that resolution. You can tell by this photo that the desktop is way to large for 1920x1080. Unfortunetly I do not have a photo of my original desktop resolution .I have installed the latest NVIDIA graphics driver, and it is the right driver for my card. Also checked all windows updates.
Specs:
Graphics Card - GTX 460
Monitor - BenQ G2420HD

Is there any way to Windows 7 not automatic change resolution when turning off the tv like in vista?

I have tried everything to keep the screen resolution at it's max but to no avail. When I change pages the screen reduces to a small size. After repeated attempts to keep the screen size to it's fullest the size changes back to small. Yes, I had done everything that the help section said to do and hit the apply button and keep changes. It only stays for a one page then reverts back to the small screen.

I always design in photoshop and when i make banners, its really small i dont see the details. I tried to change the resolution back to 1360x768 but when i do, its not that sharp, kinda blurry.
