I'm getting bluescreens when I boot up my computer and log in! I'm not sure why it's bluescreening, it's never happened to me before and it just started the other day or so around the time I uninstalled my printer driver because my printer's control center wasn't working [and still isn't].I don't know what the bluescreen page says, but I can try and take a picture of it the next time I see it [probably tomorrow]Could it be a virus? I've been trying to figure out how to back up my computer but I don't want to accidentally get viruses on the DVDs with my backup.

I just recently installed windows 7 build 7100 64 bit on this computer and from time to time it'll freeze up or crash all together. Earlier this morning I even got the blue screen of death stating that there was an issue that then closed down.
I have it fully installed on this computer and was just trying this as a last resort before I go back to reinstalling vista on the machine.

Alright well this is a custom build computer. I am a gamer and i play a lot.I've been having continuous problems with my computer. It started only having Bsod wile in a specific server of a game but then got worse and worse. freezing and blue screening all the time. So i finally come to the conclusion that it was my motherboard and sent it back to ASUS to get a new. sadly I don't know if they just tried to repair it or if they fixed it. i got it back and found that it worked perfectly fine, after a wile (same as my first encounter) it started to freeze again... than blue screen. So far I've gotten 5 blue screens. I will attach the dump files in a .Rar file to this post.I did have an old D-link Wireless Card But Traded it out for a land line. The wireless cards Model is a AirPlus G SWL-G510 (wireless G Desktop Adapter) [This card was Discontinued]I've checked the:Ram (Fine)Graphics card(Fine)Hard drive(Fine)Both me, some family members, and a couple friends where extremely confused by this.I've been having this problems for months and months.

I've had quite BSOD's in the last week or so and can attach a .ZIP file of the last 4..I've tried my best to read the forum rules so there is also a couple of screen captures of CPU-Z that might also help.

I just recently had to reinstall windows on my computer with an installation CD after my recovery partition had become corrupted. Anyways, after restoring Windows7, the computer was running fine and seemed to have no problems what so ever. I than downloaded all my usual software before updating, such as Firefox, Malwarebytes, Rkill, Avira and Spybot. No problems what soever downloading and installing all of those. However going to do windows updates that the computer now thinks it is a year or two behind on it blue screens when it begins installing them. I tried rebooting in safemode with networking to try and download the updates and they downloaded and installed with no problem except for the few that required to restart the computer, upon restarting the computer it makes it to 30% installing updates and blue screens again and restarts me to system restore and I have to restore to before installing the updates and I am right back to square one. I know this isn't exactly a virus question as I doubt Microsoft is realizing viruses in their updates, but I am shooting my luck as every tech has suggested I just reinstall windows which would make this the 4th Win7 installation on this computer, so naturally I am beginning to think installing windows 7 isn't my problem here. This is my system info.

A few weeks ago my PC started giving me blue screen with a message saying "ircq not less than or equal" It retarts before I even get a chance to read any more of the screen. It is pretty random, sometimes won't happen for two days, happens while gaming, happens back to back, happens when I'm just web surfing. Googling has led me into 20 different answers about dumps and drivers that left me clueless. The only things I know is that my nvidia 9800 gtx+ drivers are up to date, and my pc keeps telling me to update my amd drivers even though I don't have an amd card.

I have been using the Windows 7 beta (build 7000) since the day it came out publicly without any problems. I downloaded both the 32 and 64 bit versions of the RC. Whenever I try to install either version I get a BSOD during the install. The DVD boots, it goes through the first Grey Progress bar, shows the new windows boot splash animation, then goes tot he BSOD with both versions.
The message says DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL and the bottom displays:
*** STOP: 0x000000D1 (0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000002, 0x0000000000000008, 0
x0000000000000000)
I have tried systematically disconnecting ever component I could one at a time. I have 3 SATA Hard Drives connected, which I disconnected one at a time, and tried only one plugged at a time.
I took out my Belkin Wireless Card
I disabled the SATA, PATA, Network, and integrated sound one at a time in BIOS
Reset BIOS to "Fail Safe Options"
None of these things worked. I am really enjoying Windows 7, and I hope there is a solution to this. I would like to upgrade to the RC, and I hope it is definitely fixed before the beta times out.
The last thing I could think it would be related to is the Motherboard itself, which I dont know any way to get around. I am running a ABIT IB9 with the latest BIOS updates installed.
Video Card is ASUS, Model EN8400GS SILENT, I would remove that, except I obviously wont be able to SEE anything, and I don't have any other PCI-E cards laying around.

I am on an Acer Aspire M5100 desktop that came with Vista 32x preinstalled. I bought a ATI Radeon HD 4550 months ago that worked fine on Vista. I wanted to install Windows 7 64x Home Premium, so I bought a copy through Microsoft, created a boot disk, removed all non-original components (including graphics card), and did a clean install. I installed all my additional hardware and everything worked fine until my graphics card.
When I installed my graphics card, I downloaded the most up to date drivers (I got the link from this site), and rebooted. Upon reboot, my BIOS load, Windows starts to load, and then I get a blue screen. The blue screen flashes by so quick I can't read what they're saying. Then my computer restarts, and we start over again (blue screen cycle).
So I reconnected to the onboard gpu, and it started. Then I went into the Device manager, and uninstalled the old driver. Reinstalled my Radeon 4550, and current drivers, rebooted, nothing. Tried reinstalling windows 7, this time, removing old drivers first, than installing. Still nothing. This happens every time I enable the video card and then reboot.
I'm a noob so I've searched this site up and down. I've heard that maybe I need to update my BIOS. So I went to Acer.com to download the BIOs, and they don't have any listed for my PC.
With that said, I'm at my wits end. If anybody has any thoughts on what to do next, I truly appreciate it.

Ive been running Win 7 Ultimate 64 for over a year with no problems. For Christmas I got a new HD because my old ones were full. I copied my files from my two old hard drives to the new one and then tried to do a clean install. After the installation when windows boots for the first time it works, but the picture has about two inches of black space all around and the resolution is at like 800x600. Im pretty sure the only thing i need to do to fix that is install and update my graphics drivers. The problem is after I start installing updates I have to restart windows. When it boots up for the second time all the black space is gone and the picture looks right but it always stops right after the black windows loading screen on the default background with no icons, only my curser. Ive tried to install windows again but the same thing happens. Ive tried safe mode and last known good config. Startup repair finds no problems at all. And when i restore with a system image the problem comes back as soon as I update something then restart.

I just received a brand new laptop less than 24 hours ago. It's an HP, 4 gig RAM, Windows 7 pre-installed, etc.I was using it all night on the internet, putting my music collection on iTunes, etc. I had a lot of fun and was very impressed with this laptop. The second time I turned on the computer (the first being the initial install), Windows Updates was configuring and installing all of these automatic updates that it downloaded the first time I turned off the computer. I couldn't believe my eyes, it actually said it was configuring over 22,000 updates after I booted it up. Yes, THOUSAND. This went on for less than half an hour. Then it went to "installing" the updates, which had a progress bar that reached 100% in maybe 5 minutes. Then it was "starting Windows".Then it got hung up on a blue "bird" desktop background that said Windows 7 Premium at the bottom. The mouse was completely moveable but there was absolutely no action I could take. I left it like this for 30 minutes thinking, "well, it's just installing, but it really should give me a progress bar so I know what the hell is happening."At the 45 minute mark, I couldn't take it anymore. I called HP (the manufacturer of the laptop) for support. The guy asks me for the serial number, and I regretfully wasn't pleasant. I think I said "serial number? I haven't even owned this computer for 12 hours yet!"Anyway, he had me force a shutdown. And then upon booting the computer, I got the "this computer wasn't shut down properly". This is complete BS for a computer that even as I write this, hasn't been in my possession 24 hours yet. I am returning this piece of crap, but I want to know how can I prevent this from happening to the next computer I purchase. Is it necessary to not use Windows Updates, because whoever made these has their head up their ***? I mean "configuring 22,687 updates" on a brand new, 64-bit Windows 7 machine?

I just installed Windows 7 64-bit last night, and the installation went without a hitch. I started to install my programs and then things started to get a little hairy. Every once in a while (ranging 3 minutes - 3 hours) my computer will blue screen out with a mention of afd.sys. This usually happens when I try to do something with the network (ex: Skype, Trillian, etc.).
I'm too new to this to know how to read minidumps, so I thought I'd give them to you guys and see how you could help me. I'm up for any suggestions on how to fix this problem. Reformatting is not an issue, as I have time to spare (when I'm not at work). My system specs are up to date in my profile.
