Jul 25, 2009When I play certain games the computer just shut downs, like if was a BSOD, although I cannot be certain since my monitor looses signal as well.
Example:
Installed bionic commando, latest catalyst drivers, latest dx runtime. After playing for 3-4 min the screen goes black and it sounds like the computer powers down but do not shut of, if you understand what I mean?
This doesn't happen to all games as well which is odd.
Not sure if it's a hardware or software problem.

What can i say :
->I enter in game ( I've chosen a 2002 Game like GTA III )
->MainMeniu works fine , I start a new game
->Here's the problems start , as you know all games have an INTRO movie ... i only can hear it , no way to see something!!!
->All right , the game starts and i see it in mages , i move my character and the screen goes black after i goes in car.
->The image goes back when the screen move no more and if i accelerate the screen goes black again 'til i brake and nothing moves too much in background
In all of 3D games makes me the same I use
OS:Windows 7 32:Bit
I installed latest drivers for Video Card (Ati : 9600 Series)
DirectX is incorporated : DirectX 11
At monitor i get a little problem when i install the driver :

It can be from DirectX? May i install a DX 9.0c on it if I have DX 11 ? Ive tried and didn't work
If it is from Monitor , What can i do ... the triver is taken from Oficial Iiyama site
Now for the last supect problem for me, the OpenGL ( Counter-Strike 1.6 use it and i cant run it , so i think i have a problem with that too ) It is a descused problem but maybe from this ?
Street Fighter 4 Crashes When Launched - Fatal Error
Aug 11, 2009I've been playing Street Fighter 4 perfectly until i tried to today.
Over the weekend I had some friends over and i hooked up my computer to a projector that one of the guys brought over, so that we could game out. Everything worked fine.
But today i tried to play using my regular monitor, and i get this message;
Fatal Error
Failed resetting the Direct3D device.
Other games run perfectly (Pro Street/Grid/COD 4/ PoP)
I'm running Windows 7 RC (7100)
GPU - Radeon 3850 AGP
CPU - Athlon X2 2.7ghz
RAM - 2GB
ALL drivers are up to date, including Direct X.

Jun 30, 2009I installed Windows 7 RC a few days ago and I am very happy with it except for one thing, and that's when playing games.
When I have played for some time (it's totally random) the screen goes black and it refuses to display the image again, tried unplugging it from graphics card, turn off power and nothing helps. The sound continues but nothing else respond.
This happens in all games i've tried this far (Prototype, Overlord II, Call of Juarez - Bound in Blood). It never happens when I'm simply using Windows or programs, only when I play games. Windowed Mode also seems to work without the screen going black, but unfortunately all games doesn't have an option to play in windowed mode.
I have all updates from Windows Update installed, latest graphics drivers and DirectX. The graphics card is quite hot when I touch it, so is it possible that Windows 7 is very sensitive to this? I never had this problem in Vista and it appeared right after i formated the harddrive and installed Windows 7 RC.
Alt Tab In Games Results In Black Screen
Jun 29, 2009I'm not sure if it's a W7 issue or not but I never had this problem with XP.
Alt tabbing to desktop from a running game is causing the black screen problems since my install. I am unable to get back to desktop or to the game after doing this. It happens in these games:
Crysis
Farcry 2
CountersStrike Source
Team Fortress 2
Anyone got a solution for this problem?

I get black screen everytime I play games, like World of Warcraft and Counter Strike: Source.In another Thread there was a guy with the same problem, he attached the MX-4 somehow and I don't know what that is, is it something you buy or is it something you download? The MX-4 seemed to be working for him so I wanna try that.

May 19, 2012When I launch either of 2 games (Borderlands and The Secret World), after a while, the screen will go dark and most of the time I'll hear a high pitched wine, I'll restart the PC and everything is usually good. I say usually because in the last 2 days, when booting up, I'll get to the screen that says "Starting windows" or the desktop is about to be displayed and the screen goes dark.
The SSD firmware has been updated to the latest; I worked with Kingston to do this. In the BIOS, the drive is configured to use Raid (XHD) and the drive is physically connected to the SATA3 port.
I have tried physically connecting it to a SATA2 for the firmware upgrade along with changing from Raid (XHD) to ACHI to IDE. When I run the program Speccy, it says that the status of S.M.A.R.T is bad and running Crystal Disk Info, it says Unknown for the disk health and other fields.
Black Screen/Freeze When Playing Games?
Sep 22, 2012I have started playing Guild Wars 2, after the first couple of days my game started to freezing and black screen to desktop before going back into game to only black screen again. At times my monitor would say no signal. The problem disappeared for close to 5 days and came back up again. I've tried playing other games and the problem is similar, freezing to desktop, black screen and crashing to desktop.During the black screen to desktop I would get 'Display driver stopped responding and has recovered'. I have updated to a few different drivers including the latest stable driver from Nvidia but the problem still exists.I have ran VMT for 10 passes with no errors.
Prime95 Small FFTs for over 2hours with no errors.Running FurMark the test does complete when I run BenchMark(user's setting) when I do the Burn In-Test everything looks okay until my GPU hits 80c. The computer would shut off then. Though when I play games my gpu varies between 50 to 62c[CODE]
Black Screen Of Death While Playing Games?
Dec 11, 2012I get black screen of death with annoying sound from my pc speakers while playing games only. Apart from playing games my pc is working fine and it has no problem at all. The windows 7 is perfect which I installed in May 2011; is in excellent shape, all other programs like videos, online surfing, audios, working on MS office are running well without any issue. So the problem lies with games only that too the new games and not the older ones like Stronghold Crusader Extreme is running well, but newer games like Call of Duty, Sniper Ghost Warrior, Time Shift or Euro Truck 2, I experiencing the black screen of death. The specs of my pc are as under:-
1.Processor:Intel Pentium Dual Core E5700 3.00 GHz (Wolfdale 45nm Technology)
2.RAM:3.00 GB Dual-Channel DDR2 @ 333MHz (5-5-5-15)As I read on the internet that windows 7 32-bit system cannot read RAM more than 3.0 GHz so I have installed just 3.0 GHz
3.Video Card:SMB1930N (1360x768@60Hz), 512MB GeForce 210 (nVidia)
4.HDD:466GB Seagate ST3500413AS ATA Device (SATA) can be rounded as 500 GB
5.OS:Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit The thing to note here is the temperature of my video card is 80 Degree Celsius whereas of other hard ware's it is between the range of 30 and 40 degrees Celsius, what you might think is that would be the problem area.
Screen Turns Black After Playing Games For A Short While
Dec 10, 2009I have this problem where my screen will turn black or turn off after a short while of playing games. I installed Windows 7 recently and then installed Borderlands and COD4. Both games run fine at lowest settings but after about 15-20 minutes of playing, my screen would just turn off and I'd have to switch the laptop off using the power button to reboot.
I'm not sure if this is a Windows 7 problem, graphic card issue, or heat related issue since my notebook fan is not working and i'm using a notebook cooler.
Flickering Black Boxes In Games Since New Driver Update?
Jul 20, 2011quite recently, i noticed that there were little black box flickering in my games. gpu is an ati 4870 hd 512 mb. i did not overclock this gpu. first, it came when i got myself shogun 2 total war, and then in all my other games that i played after that. it flickers on for a split second and off and keeps coming back. i did notice though that when i alt-tabbed for a few seconds, and then came back, it took a little while before they came back.also, this has nothing to do with heating because the max temp that my gpu will ever hit is 50c and on idle it's 38c with a accelero heatsink.i thought this had something to do with the latest 11.6 update i installed, so i uninstalled and driver-sweeped my ati driver and installed 11.5, but no luck!
along with that, i noticed that on Internet, when i went into full screen mode, the screen would be black but playing but then flash on and continue the video from where it flashed on. also, when i got out of the Internet full screen, the video would be playing but the image on the video would be what i saw before i went into full screen for a few seconds.i tried reinstalling flash in chrome, but to no avail.

I would get a random black screen while playing an online game on my laptop (this happens randomly but usually 15-30mins after starting Windows and start playing the game). After the black screen appeared, it would automatically reboot to this windows error recovery page with options to go into safe mode (networking/command prompt) or just boot windows normally.I chose to boot Windows normally but after getting into Windows 7 and started playing a while, a random BSOD would appear. It has happened for 2-3 days straight. The attached is the mini dump.
Note: I did not install anything new to my laptop, I have ran chkdsk and sfc /scannow and found nothing.I have no idea what caused the black screen and the BSOD.

this is the latest mini dump file most the time my comp never blue screens just hangs black so i never knew there was mini dump files still coming in and i have a bunch of those but this is the latest one.
had a driver issue a while back was getting blue screens from it but i completely erased it out of drivers folder and win32 drivers folder which was locked but i used a reg editor here that made it possible to take ownership of a folder and then i completely deleted it out of my system so i think.

From the sys reqs my system should be more that capable of running them.

I'm not sure why it's bluescreening, it's never happened to me before and it just started the other day or so around the time I uninstalled my printer driver because my printer's control center wasn't working [and still isn't].I don't know what the bluescreen page says, but I can try and take a picture of it the next time I see it [probably tomorrow]Could it be a virus? GTX580 Black Screen/Reboot In Games, Windows Logo, Even At Bios Load
Jun 9, 2012I purchased a system with dual GTX580's about a year and a half ago. I have had issues with system crashes (lockups, no blue screen, and no alt-tabbing out of them) almost from the beginning. Since I am impressed with some of the technical responses I have seen on threads in this forum, thought I'd reach out for help before I pull what hair I have left out.....
I tried literally every different bios update available, every single driver release Nvidia has released, too many clean windows installs to count, MSI Afterburner/EVGA Precision (video voltage increases, clock decreases (removing EVGA superclocking), replaced the SLI bridge, different ram, different powersupply cables, different fan speeds, and so many other things over the past 1.5 years it's rediculous.
In preparation for trashing the cards, I pulled them out and put my old cards back in. These are also EVGA brand, 8800's, also can run them in SLI with the same bridge, and not a single problem. This is while running the same driver release (clean install though) as the 580's.
So I put one 580 back in, both slots 1 & 3, and to my surprise it worked just fine in either PCI slot. Tried the other 580, also works fine when alone. Put them both in, put the bridge on, and it crashes right after Bios loads, before it even makes it to the windows logo/login screen.
Seems to have gotten worse over time (was just during intense gaming, next it's when in windows but not gaiming, sometimes at the Windows loading Logo, and sometimes even at bios load.)
Overheating? Temps are fine..even when stress testing with Kombuster/Furmark/Prime95/MEMTest/etc. temps get warm, up to 85 on CPU cores, and 75 on video card, but all tests are fine.
Freezing And Blue Screening All The Time?
Oct 14, 2011Alright well this is a custom build computer. I am a gamer and i play a lot.I've been having continuous problems with my computer.It started only having Bsod wile in a specific server of a game but then got worse and worse. freezing and blue screening all the time. So i finally come to the conclusion that it was my motherboard and sent it back to ASUS to get a new. sadly I don't know if they just tried to repair it or if they fixed it. i got it back and found that it worked perfectly fine, after a wile (same as my first encounter) it started to freeze again... than blue screen. So far I've gotten 5 blue screens. I will attach the dump files in a .Rar file to this post.I did have an old D-link Wireless Card But Traded it out for a land line.The wireless cards Model is a AirPlus G SWL-G510 (wireless G Desktop Adapter) [This card was Discontinued]I've checked the:Ram (Fine)Graphics card(Fine)Hard drive(Fine)Both me, some family members, and a couple friends where extremely confused by this.I've been having this problems for months and months.

May 6, 2011I just recently had to reinstall windows on my computer with an installation CD after my recovery partition had become corrupted. Anyways, after restoring Windows7, the computer was running fine and seemed to have no problems what so ever. I than downloaded all my usual software before updating, such as Firefox, Malwarebytes, Rkill, Avira and Spybot. No problems what soever downloading and installing all of those. However going to do windows updates that the computer now thinks it is a year or two behind on it blue screens when it begins installing them. I tried rebooting in safemode with networking to try and download the updates and they downloaded and installed with no problem except for the few that required to restart the computer, upon restarting the computer it makes it to 30% installing updates and blue screens again and restarts me to system restore and I have to restore to before installing the updates and I am right back to square one. I know this isn't exactly a virus question as I doubt Microsoft is realizing viruses in their updates, but I am shooting my luck as every tech has suggested I just reinstall windows which would make this the 4th Win7 installation on this computer, so naturally I am beginning to think installing windows 7 isn't my problem here. This is my system info.

Windows Keeps Blue-screening Whenever Run 'standby' Or 'hibernate'?
Dec 11, 2011whenever i put my dell latitude into standby or hibernate it seems to be okay. but when i bring it out of hibernation or standby it turns on again and tells me that there was a blue-screen and starts the PC like it was turned off via a normal shut down.i've got all the windows updates installed.

Nov 5, 2009ok so i have a problem thats been driving me insane. my toshiba F50 was working totally fine until suddenly during games my GPU started overheating quickly during games (Was not doing this before) i noticed that my fan didnt seem to be spinning as fast as before. i cleaned it still no avail, tried riva tuner and ntune and all of that jazz and all of them have the fan control options greyed out? (cannot use them)i noticed that when i start the laptop the POST test on the fans guns the fan to 100% speed so i know its capable of doing it. it seems like the fan doesnt know to speed up when it gets hot and it keeps shutting my system down and i reallllly dont feel like damaging my GPU. i tried rolling back my drivers and running the latest drivers.
