Since I bought a new phitronics motherboard, a core i5 processor and 8 gigs DDR3 ram, I've had over nine thousand BSOD's, each with a different error at completely unrelated times.

It's just a few months old and has barely been used in that time, but since it's not my laptop I don't know its history. Knowing the owner though, I don't imagine she ever did more than some browsing and text editing with it.My friend's laptop gets a blue screen when starting up, which says CACHE_MANAGER, STOP: 0x00000034 (0x00000107, 0xc0000420, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)It does this when the loading bar for Windows appears on screen, without fail. There is absolutely no way I can get windows to boot. Not in safe mode or with startup repair or anything else.After looking around a bit, I gathered that this BSOD pointed to insufficient memory, failing memory, failing hard drive, bad device drivers or something starting up in windows.I had a look at the BIOS (InsydeH2O version F.22), which offers barely any options except for a memory test and a hard drive test and both passed fine. Startup options also has an HP diagnostics menu which offers a memory and hard disk test and they passed. I don't know if this means anything good.. (the diagnostics menu also has what it calls a "run-in" and a start up test which does a mem test, a short DST and a more extensive DST. I'm not entirely sure what this or if it has anything to do with it but every time it finished the long one it would revert back to testing the short one and this would continue indefinitely in this cycle. I don't know if this is relevant at all though)I'm just not sure what to do next. If it is something in Windows, I can't get into Windows in any way so that doen't seem like an option. Since the HP Mini is completely closed, there is no way to easily open it up and replace/add memory should that be necessary. Is it any use trying a Windows 7 recovery disc (it'd have to be usb, no cd drive)? I don't have one at hand so I thought I'd ask before getting one.
My W7 64 bit PC has BSOD'd twice in the last week. I am just learning this fascinating part of computers and am still very much in the dark, however I made sure that my OS was configured to create a dump file, and it was however there is nothing in the Minidump folder, as a matter of fact it doesnt exist. So much fro configuring the OS to create a dump file on a crash.I DL'd Bluescreenview and it showed nothing.The message at the bottom of the BSOD mentioned something about creating crash dump files but it seemed that nothing happened, there was no progress indicator, just a whole bunch of nothing. I left it for some time to see if the message or anything changed and it didnt. I restarted the PC and went hunting for the Minidump report, or any report for that matter.

View 3 Replies View Relatedearlier turned on my pc, and it blue screened with the error Bad_Pool_Header. It had been on 4 hours before hand and during the session before it Blue screened I installed no new hardware or software. I ran though the .dmp with OSR online and this is what it said:

[code]I upgraded board, memory, cpu and started getting these dumps and just can't figure out where they are coming from.Asus P8H67 MLX i5 2300 8gb G.Skill Sniper Series.Also upgraded GTX460SE video card but without any Dumps, had it about a month before the other parts were installed, but it has started driver crashing alot as of late. View 3 Replies View RelatedI have had four BSODs recently, two with error code 0xA and the two older crash dumps occurred on system sleep/resume. I do not know much about what caused the first two, they seemed to happen when I put my laptop to sleep with very low battery but haven't happened since because I've been careful to watch the battery a bit better. The third occurred while streaming a .mkv file to my PS3 with PS3 Media Server. It was about an hour into streaming when the BSOD occurred. My video card drivers were old at the time, so I upgraded them trying to fix it but obviously I haven't fixed it yet.
I also ran Memtest86+ which could find no memory errors. The most recent BSOD occurred while I was transferring some files with Filezilla. I also had Chrome open with a few tabs, but the laptop was not excessively hot or anything. The transfer had been running for about 10 minutes when the crash happened. I have attached the results of running the jcgriff2 BSOD Dump & System File collection app and system health report. More than anything, I'm worried about the most recent 2 BSODs.

View 1 Replies View RelatedThere seems to be no pattern as to when I get a BSOD. I ran Memtest86+ for about 18 hours (8 full cycles) and there were no errors. I've noticed also that anytime I run Prime95 with high FFT lengths, all 4 cores fail almost immediately ("Rounding was 0.5, expected 0.4" is a common one). I have gotten BSOD's when nothing was overclocked. I've gotten it when doing light overclock stress testing as well. I've gotten it when doing no stress testing and nothing else that's CPU or memory intensive.

I work from my computer at home and then sometimes also play games at night like Mass Effect which is pretty system intensive. Whats strange is that the BSODs only happen when I'm working. I have 2 browsers up, a text editor maybe 2, ftp program, sometimes music. Nothing that would strain the system.I've ran driver verifier already which lead me to remove my Realtek HD Audio driver, I've turned it off since. I ran memtest86 overnight once and will run it again for a more extended period, but because of when the crashes happen I'm inclined to think it's a software issue.

View 9 Replies View RelatedMy PC keeps getting BSOD's at random points during use though I'm thinking it could be hardware, but was hoping to get some expert advice before coming to that conclusion.It started happening a while ago and created quite a few minidump files, though tonight I think I reset the CMOS (couldn't boot PC) & went into windows, the date/time were reverted back to 2002 & the minidumps were no longer there (even after adjusting the date/time back to normal)I have 2x dumps at the moment & hope they are of some use.(attached). I had to add .doc to the end of the .dmp files. The upload manager wouldn't upload the standard .dmp file.There's no specific point at which it would BSOD, sometimes PC would just lock up without the BSOD screen showing up. Could happen within minutes of turning on, or an hour+ after. Could be watching a movie or surfing the net.. or just sitting there.

There have been no hardware updates, system installs etc. only the recommended Sony Vaio Care driver updates.I will be using the laptop for a while and then it will just crash. I have recently built a new PC (about a month ago), but I'm continuing to get BSOD randomly. I did have two HDD in my PC and the BSOD were more frequent, but since reducing to one HDD over a week ago, I have just received another BSOD. My biggest problem is that, every time my PC BSOD, it doesn't leave a Minidump for me to analyse. It appears that most of the time the BSOD is displaying KERNAL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR and either volmgrx.sys or nfts.sys.

Getting random BSOD with win7 that i've nv gotten with my old XP SP3. The only new hardware i added was a very old DDR2 1gb Ram and a samsung hdd which probably isn't the issue.
i've used the SF diag tool v4 to gather all that
my computer BSOD's random times. after a little research i thought it was caused by my mouse. but i removed it and it still occurs. at random times.

I updated drivers and that didn't help either. I ran my antivirus and it came up empty. I thought it may be when it was trying to go into sleep mode, so I disabled this and only allowed to hibernate. However, it is still crashing. I have checked memory by switching memory to different sockets and also going to single channel (2 2GB sticks). I have replaced ageing video card. I have been forced through chkdsk and not found errors on disks.

View 4 Replies View Relatedi have already had issues before with this brand new machine, mainly BSOD's which i solved by replacing usb drivers from 32 to 64bit corresponding to my Windows 7 version, i use this pc mainly as a DAW for music production (fruity loops/ableton live), besides usb mouse/keyboard (microsoft standard) i only have virus ti 2 synth connected through usb and using it as both midi keyboard and soundcard, lately im experiencing freezes with do NOT result in a bsod later on, i just have to physically restart or shutdown. couldnt find anything on the event viewer or any other acceptable way of finding issues, attached the SF diag collected files.
