Mar 17, 2012My Computer turns of randomly when i play a game called Alliance of Valiant Arms. It will just turn off at a random time. It never use to do this but now it does it alot... My computer has o viruses or spyware or anything. All clean.

Computer Shuts Down Randomly Playing A Certain Game
Dec 14, 2012So I found my old copy of Tony Hawk's American Wasteland (OLD game) and I decided I wanted to experience some nostalgia.I installed it and everything and it started like a charm. Once I started playing, my computer randomly shuts off. Just completely turns off, no warning, nothing.I'm pretty sure that my computer is not overheating because I play StarCraft II on this computer and do not have any overheating issues. This Tony Hawk game is a much lighter game, taking much fewer resources.I have an HP HDX18 laptop computer. url...I probably need to provide some other stuff to aid in finding the problem, but I do not know what else to provide.

Jul 7, 2012my ethernet will disconnect randomly while i'm doing anything on it. when the first time it disconnect, i need to press the "scan for hardware changes" to fix it, disabling and enabling the network adapter results in a code 10(device cannot start). then, windows install a new adapter named "realtek pcie gbe family controller #2". after this if it disconnect again, it can be fixed by disabling and enabling it.also, when playing a flash game, the adapter disconnect very often, about every few minutes compared to a few hours if not. when watching a video on Internet, the same thing happens but clicking another video on the sidebar cause it to disconnect immediately.when starting any online games, it also cause the ethernet to disconnect. but this time, the light on my router goes off as soon as the game loads for ~5 seconds before coming back on (note that when not playing a game and it disconnect, the router light never goes off), but i still can't use the internet (windows shows a red x on the network logo).sometimes i would have to reset the ethernet adapter 3~4 times before it works again.
using asus p7p55d-e pro, and it searching on google it seems that quite a number of people using an asus mobo gets random ethernet disconnect.i've tried reinstalling the drivers, used a different router, changed settings in the adapter (switched the settings one by one).this started happening about 1 week ago, and it seems to be getting worse, the frequency of the disconnect is getting higher.it seems that when it disconnect while i'm loading a page, it will keep loading for minutes until i disable the adapter, which it then displays an error.

Prior to building the New PC I had no issues at all. I got the New Motherboard, CPU and RAM. Built the computer and started having the issue that my Computer would Lock Up randomly, it seemed to be when I was playing a game and having other stuff going on my 2nd monitor. Just Lock up, no BSOD and nothing in the event logs. Have to push and hold power to turn off and then reboot.
I thought it was the Motherboard as I don't tend to use anything but Asus, so I sent back the ASRock motherboard and purchased the Asus Rampage IV Extreme. Reinstalled Windows with the Asus Motherboard still had the lock up issue. Next I got new RAM - I purchased the G.Skill Sniper series 1866 Ram, thought that was going to fix the issue BUT Still got a hard lock up. It seems to happen when I am playing a game and have other things going - It seemed to happen when I played WoW and Diablo 3 which were actually installed on my 2nd harddrive ( Velociraptor).
I moved my WoW folder to my Kingston and removed the Velociraptor -- Still Locked up. Only thing at this point I have not tried swapping are the PSU, the Video Card and the Harddrives. Because those all seemed to work fine in my old system I didn't think those would be the culprit. I have no tried changing out the CPU but not sure if that would be the cause as the computer seems to run fine with out locking up if I'm not playing a game and other stuff. Also - Temperatures are not the issue as I've been monitoring them all and the CPU is usually at 30c-34c and the GPU runs around 60c-65c.

BSOD Mostly When Playing A Game?
Nov 23, 2011Often, when I start up a game, it decides to crash my whole system resulting in a blue screen. Do note, however, that it has also crashed when not in a game, but only once or twice.My first thought was the ram, as it was and is giving a lot of memory errors, so I ran memtest for over 10 hours with no failures. My next thought was the CPU, so I ran prime 95 on blend and small ftt tests for over 8 hours which also proved to be stable. Next was the HDD, and I did everything from examining the SMART info to a long generic test. GPU was my last hope, but Furmark doesn't phase the card, and I even ran MemtestG80 which supposedly tests the GPUs memory as well. I do realize these tests are not the end all, and there could be a problem with any one of them that the tests didn't find. I have also reinstalled Windows Something curious happened when I ran memtest the other day. I had one stick in and left the room for a few minutes, only to come back to 7k+ errors. This was it I thought, I finally found out what was causing it. I wanted to test it again to make sure it wasn't a bug in the software, but it ran for 8 hours with no errors. So I'm lead to believe it's the ram, motherboard, memory cache, or psu. I am leaning away from the psu based on the fact that I get lucky and am able to play Skyrim on Ultra with no issue.I have attached several recent minidumps for anyone who is able to understand such things.

Aug 1, 2012It can happen instantly when I load up minecraft or not at all after playing arkham city for 2 hours. Ive ran memtest for 9 passes with no error. Ive made sure all my drivers are updated. Im on my second video card, because I thought that was the issue initially and gave me an excuse to order a newer one. I flashed the bios to the newest version I found and the errors stopped for about a month or so, long enough for me to throw away my boxes. I dont know what else to do. I appreciate any help. May 16, 2012There seems to be no pattern as to when I get a BSOD. I ran Memtest86+ for about 18 hours (8 full cycles) and there were no errors. I've noticed also that anytime I run Prime95 with high FFT lengths, all 4 cores fail almost immediately ("Rounding was 0.5, expected 0.4" is a common one). I have gotten BSOD's when nothing was overclocked. I've gotten it when doing light overclock stress testing as well. I've gotten it when doing no stress testing and nothing else that's CPU or memory intensive.

Jun 29, 2012Lately I've been getting BSODs randomly during the day. I work from my computer at home and then sometimes also play games at night like Mass Effect which is pretty system intensive. Whats strange is that the BSODs only happen when I'm working. I have 2 browsers up, a text editor maybe 2, ftp program, sometimes music. Nothing that would strain the system.I've ran driver verifier already which lead me to remove my Realtek HD Audio driver, I've turned it off since. I ran memtest86 overnight once and will run it again for a more extended period, but because of when the crashes happen I'm inclined to think it's a software issue.

Sep 18, 2012My PC keeps getting BSOD's at random points during use though I'm thinking it could be hardware, but was hoping to get some expert advice before coming to that conclusion.It started happening a while ago and created quite a few minidump files, though tonight I think I reset the CMOS (couldn't boot PC) & went into windows, the date/time were reverted back to 2002 & the minidumps were no longer there (even after adjusting the date/time back to normal)I have 2x dumps at the moment & hope they are of some use.(attached). I had to add .doc to the end of the .dmp files. The upload manager wouldn't upload the standard .dmp file.There's no specific point at which it would BSOD, sometimes PC would just lock up without the BSOD screen showing up. Could happen within minutes of turning on, or an hour+ after. Could be watching a movie or surfing the net.. or just sitting there.

BSOD - Laptop Restarting While Playing Game
Aug 20, 2012I have a Dell laptop, XPS 15, my specs are on the attached file. I used to play Diablo 3 on this laptop, highest settings possible, and it never gave me any problem. Now i quit Diablo and moved to an online game, called Atlantica Online (Atlantica Online), and then the problems started. I guess it's important to say i play this game for a very long time now (3~4 years) and never had any trouble with my old PC (a Quad-core, 4gbs ram, 1gb video), and my brother also play this game on his laptop (a i5, 4gbs ram, onboard video).
When i try to run it on my Dell, first, it started to overheat. I started monitoring my CPU and GPU temperature, and it'd go from 50C/122F (idle) to 90C/194F just a few seconds after I started the game. To solve this problem, everytime I run the game, I run this app: ThrottleStop (ThrottleStop - Performance Adjustment Tool for Core 2 / Core i CPUs) so i can 'underclock' my CPU to 75% and turn off the Turbo feature of my i7 (Note: I also tried to run the game without underclocking my CPU and it restarted anyway).
When the problem occurs, screen goes blue, sometimes purple, there are some squares, like a chess board, it's all messed up. I see the mouse still works (it moves a big square when i move the mouse) and keyboard still works aswell (capslock light). But if i try to press any button, the computer will freeze and i have to hard reset it. I really like this game (it's the only one i play actually, but if it's the game's fault, i'll stop it, just want to be sure).

Oct 24, 2011Whenever I play a game for longer than 10 minutes, this happens. Affected games: trackamania nations, trackmania united, CoD4, MW2, BO, Oblivion, .. Most games. Stepmania doesn't seem to have the problem, so I think it may be OpenGL/DirectX related.This sound is also paired with severe FPS problems. After a few more minutes of play, I the BSOD; [URL]One odd thing is that when I launch a game (for example CoD4, which boots quickly, because other games need to boot steam first :s) right after startup, and leave it running for say 10 minutes, the problem will not exist for the entire session, until I reboot.Natively, I had Vista, after a month orso the problem started occuring. Then I clean installed Windows 7 Home Premium, the problem didn't exist at first. After a month, same problem. Then I upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate, which gave the same story.I'm confident that the problem is with an auto-update of something, I deliberately didn't instal any drivers manually.

- Full retail.
- I got my system just over 2 years ago.
- My current OS is about half a year old I estimate. The problem recurred over all OS's.

Dec 31, 2011I just recently built the computer listed in the specs part of my profile, and have only ran into one issue. When I record my gameplay on Battlefield 3 with Fraps, after I finish the recording and click to exit the game I get a blue screen, this is the absolute only time I get a blue screen and it happens every time. I checked the event viewer but there was so errors leading up to the crash and no information except one that stated the computer recovered from the crash. The only constant I find is that it only crashes when I am using fraps and when I am only a voice chat service, in my case skype or ventrilo. I am currently running the Memtest86 on that computer now so I can't retrieve any of the BSOD information, provided that there is any, but so far I have no errors showing on the memtest.
