I am having a big issue with my new computer here, it started when I installed Grand Theft Auto 4, everytime I tried launching the game on Steam/in folder. My computer restarts itself straight away each time! Later on I noticed when I left the computer on while I'm sleeping the computer restarts itself sometimes too. Once a BSOD appeared. I had no other issues with all the other games, til I bought and installed Dead Space today, again the same problem! Restarts when I click Play again!

I started getting BSOD two weeks ago. As far as I can remember the first time I had a BSOD was on the day I installed Max Payne 3 (I read somewhere that the some guy had also this problem when he installed max payne). There were two occasions that I got a BSOD upon starting Max Payne 3. But lately I'm getting BSOD when doing low-load stuffs like browsing with no other apps opened. I've already done memtest with 10 passes with no errors. I'm 24 hours prime95 stable. I just don't get it! I've manually set my timings for my ram. I'm not doing any overclock. Everything is on stock settings.

Here's an image: http://i.imgur.com/Z9Li3.png, I have the most recent nVidia drivers installed and nothing new is installed on my machine than before the reload (and I never had this issue before). I have two monitors and it happens on both so I'm sure it isn't a hardware issue (the card and my main monitor are also both less than 6 months old) I've also noticed a ripple when scrolling down on web pages which I believe is related.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an unusual glitch which causes everything light on a dark background to trail off to the right of itself. It randomly started while I was playing 'Football Manager' and now I can't seem to get rid of it. I've tried all of the usual stuff; (rebooting, rolling back and re-patching video drivers, doing a system restore) and nothing seems to be working.See the image below for an example. I don't think it is ghosting because the trail doesn't follow the movements of the mouse or anything like that, it simply remains to the right of everything.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been having random graphical issues. Sometimes in games (ie. COD4) the screen goes black when a new map loads. I then have to exit the game and reboot the PC, hoping it fixes my issue. Also, since I updated to the latest version, there are random graphical glitches in the game (weird objects on the ground and in the air in the game). Now the issue is much worse:
When I boot up my PC, my taskbar is completely blank, except for the Start Button. I'd be willing to deal with this issue if I knew how to fix it when it pops up. Getting distorted (cracking/popping) sound and poor FPS/screen tear after switching application from a full screen game via the taskbar and via alt tabbing.The only way to rectify the issue is by restarting the PC as reloading the game will semi fix the sound issue, but limits my FPS to 30 and will cause the sound to slowly deteriorate to how it was before.
It mainly happens when I have a full screen program while watching a Stream/Video on my second monitor and I switch program through the aero feature in the taskbar/alt tab pop up. Sound goes to shit, then the frame loss kicks in a second later.
I assumed it was an issue to do with the aero application preview feature, but I'm not 100% sure. I've disabled it by using the classic theme which I've been using for the past 2 days and things seem to be alright.

-MSI GTX 460 Hawk
-ASUS Xonar DX
I can manage without aero so I'm able to actually use my PC, but I'd rather fix the issue than ignore it.
Each time i launch a game, a few minutes later my PC goes BSOD. I d really love to know why as i have updated every drivers.

View 14 Replies View RelatedI never get the bluescreen doing anything but playing games and it's not often but it happens about twice a week. It crashes and WhoCrashed or Bluescreen view always points to ntoskrnl.exe or ntkrnlmp.exe or hal.dll it's always two of those 3. Other than games it runs fine. I did all the memory tests for 3 days and tried the best I could re-seat stuff. It's an alienware so they have it all secured in a way that makes it difficult to get around, and the case weighs around 105 lbs or something crazy.

I only get BSODs when exiting any game with decent graphics after playing for about an hour. If i play these games in windowed mode i dont seem to have that problem..When playing Battlefield 3 yesterday the game seemed to froze-up every 5mins and would only unfreeze if i alt tabbed and hit CTRL+ALT+DEL and then open the task manager (had the same problem in other FPS).My configuration, i have the latest drivers installed and i tried all kinds of older drivers for my VGA:

- ran the memtest in DOS for 5 hours with no errors
- ran prime95 for 20min with no errors, temp at 34 degrees max
- ran furmark for 15min, GPU at 61 degrees max
- ran both prime95 and furmark for 10mins, no problems
The windows have been reinstalled about 5 months ago, i had the same problems before that also.
i'm getting Blue Screens when playing The Sims 3 and World of Warcraft, i have installed Windows 7 twice now and it still keeps going on, but i can play Skyrim and Mass Effect 3 without any problems.

I have been having BSOD for a while now and need some help resolving them. [code] I have tried updating drivers and and even re-formated windows and reinstalled everything, but still getting the blue screens.It seems to me that the problem started when i installed the geforce nvidia 295.73 drivers, but im not sure this was the original problem. I have tried reinstalling nvidia 265.58 through the newest 296.10. they all seem to give BSOD. Thought it seems more frequent with the newer drivers. Today i have had 4 BSOD while playing Skyrim.I am not sure why but a dump file is not always created only about 50% of the time. I am posting the ones that i have. View 5 Replies View Relatedwhen playing some games, my computer sometimes becomes distorted and reboots, showing the BSOD. This has generally started happening over the last two months, after I installed a new graphics card. Though previously, I didn't really play PC games, so It's hard to say if that's even the reason. It usually only happens once every few days, and only at some games at that. However, I started playing Tribes yesterday, and every time I play it, I get a blue screen within 10 minutes of play without fail. I've tried to see if there are any correlations between the BSODs and what I'm doing, but there doesn't seem to be. The only unusual thing is how often it happens when playing Tribes, a game that isn't nearly as processor, memory or graphically extensive compared to other games I've played without fault.The error, to my knowledge, has always been the same. With the blue screen stating some Uncorrectable Hardware Error. This is what I believe to be the error code in the Event Viewer.

View 9 Replies View RelatedThe problem started yesterday while I tried to run Counter-Strike Global Offensive by launching it with the ESEA client and got a BSOD.At first I thought it was a CS:GO related problem as the game is relatively new and there were GPU problems in the past when the game was beta (I have a NVIDIA GTX560M on a Qosmio x775).
Following forums I figured I may have to flash BIOS and update graphics card drivers. However, despite these updates I kept BSOD'ing every time while trying to launch the game.Taking my research further I realized the computer would crash while starting ANY game. Even opening the NVIDIA client to change 3d settings led to a BSOD. After a lot of frustration and futile updates, I thought perhaps it was an overheating issue and left the laptop off for the night with all USB ports unplugged.I really need to know what is going on as I haven't the faintest clue. I've attached a diagnostic error report of one of the crashes (there have been many) and I am willing to provide any extra information just as long as I get some responses!

I rarely get the BSODs if I avoid playing my games altogether, hence I suspect it has to do with my video card, or updating its driver or something. View 9 Replies View RelatedI have been getting regular BSOD when I am playing Games. In most cases it happens when I play Battlefield 3, Guild Wars 2 Beta and Warhammer: Space Marine. I tried updating every Driver on my System but that didn't fix anything. I also ran several Virus Scan with no result. I bought this PC in March 2011.

I have had this problem ever since my dad built this computer and even he has no idea what has happened. I am not a computer genius but I came across the windows helps forum so now I am deciding to give it a try. This blue screen occurs most when I am playing games or when I am trying to rate my computer's assesment through the windows experience index sometimes it would say windows assesment tool has stopped responding in the middle of the test, but I think I have finally solved it through the clean boot method that windows has shown me. But the BSOD still happens and I do not know why.
