BSOD Asus G72GX
Jan 17, 2010
Okay last week i got my brand new Asus G72GX, its been working perfectly until today when i tried to download a PDF file and it wouldnt let me, then froze firefox, i ended process and then Adobe wanted to update so i let it, then i got a BSOD. I ignored it and let it restart, once it started i opened firefox and got a BSOD 0x00000024, then i tried to figure out what was wrong, and found out i should do a disk check. So i started safe mode went into cmd and started it, it told me to restart and it would take effect.
After letting it run for a while it randomly BSOD again with error 0x00000109. Then i tried it again, it got farther then BSOD, then i tried starting my computer uninstalling the virus software (avg free) and i got another BSOD 0x00000001E and then it tried restarting and every time i get another BSOD. Is my computer dead? Can i do something to fix this?

Seems totally random, i cant link it with any of my programs or activites. The notebook doesnt boot up every time after the BSODs. I have an ASUS F3T-AP026 notebook, with 2x1G Kingsmax RAM. This time i can only upload 1 minidumb file, since i tried to install another Windows 7 last night. This time a "memory_management" happened, but before i encountered "bad_pool_header" "irql_not_less_or_equal" "driver_irql_not_less_or_equal" "reference_by_pointer" and i think there were some others that i dont remember. I even sent my notebook to the country ASUS service, but they said in 3 days they didnt encounter the problem.

I own an Asus Laptop that runs on Windows 7 and I've been getting random BSOD for months (around 6) and they've become more frequent. I've downloaded Malwarebytes Anti-Malware scanned my computer and thought the problem was fixed but then it would come back. It's happened 11 times this month and 3 times today alone.I really don't know what to do anymore. I've considered reinstalling windows but I don't have the disc.

I have been suffering from sporadic BSOD mostly while gaming for some time. My computer has a terrible gpu so I thought that was the cause and it was getting up to some very high temperatures, but I sent the computer in to Asus and they replaced the fan and some cooling parts and the computer doesnt run hot any more but then I started to get Bad Pool Caller and page fault BSODs. I sent it in again and they replaced the hard drive. I have had it back for less than a week and the BSODs are back.

I'm building a new pc with a Asus M3N78-EM mb and AMD Phenom 9600. I tried installing Windows 7 Ultimate (Bld 7000) 64 bit and was getting the BSOD around the point of expanding files during the install. I tried a couple times, same results. I then updated to the latest bios for the mb and tried installing again. The install goes much further, during the part of "completing install" i get the BSOD.
I tried 3 more times, everytime BSOD around the same part of the install. Can someone tell me if this is a mb bios issue, a bad cpu issue or a windows 7 64-bit issue? I tried installing Windows 7 beta 32-bit, and this installed successfully on the first try. This is nothing fancy with my new system, 4 gb (1066) GSkill memory, all default bios settings, sata hd's (non raid).

I purchased my laptop about 3 weeks ago and have been using it to stream online classes I'm taking. I'm using an ASUS K53E notebook which was purchased at a local Best Buy. It is running Windows 7 Ultimate x64 and I have Kaspersky PURE installed on my computer.
For the first 2-2.5 weeks of usage, the laptop has been as smooth as can be. However, as of last Friday (9/2), I noticed that the laptop would crash every time I shut it. The screen would go black, like it's going to hibernate, but the hard disk would never shut down (green lights on the front of the laptop stayed on) and I would either have to manually power down the laptop or wait for it to get BSOD and then shut itself down. I have since stopped hibernating it and shutting it down completely each night, but it's getting extremely frustrating and worrisome that at some point, the laptop will become completely useless.
I've looked through the forums already and seen that others have been having this problem. If this has been resolved, can I ask what others have done to get rid of the BSOD? I have not attached my BSOD crash report, as I have not copied it yet nor do I really want to cause another BSOD just for the report.

I am experiencing very random BSOD. I keep my HTPC on 24/7 and this happens usually when I am not on a computer or have a huge copying job running. I have run memory test and there are no errors. Just changed my SSD and Mobo. I was previously having BSODs as well but I think I nailed that one by updating the firmware on my OCZ Vertex 3 SSD. This is a very new install. Just installed about 7 days ago and left it to run to see stability, but it doesn't seem to be stable.
My system specs:
Asus P8z77-V Pro mobo (new)
Intel Sandy Bridge i7 3.4 Ghz 2600k
Corsair Vengeance 16GB DDR3 1600 MHz
Samsung 830 256GB 830
1GB Sapphire HD 5750 Vapor X Radeon Graphics Card
Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Pro Series 7.1 Sound Card
Cooler Master Silent Pro M 600w PSU
I have just upgraded my SSD to a Samsung 830 256GB 830 and mobo to an Asus P8Z77-V PRO.

i have a system which i got 1 month ago and it was stable and good till recently i started getting BSOD at random times , i tried to update my bios as most were saying but i couldnt because whenever i click on bios update utilite i get black screen! with no respond (i tried the updating from bios not windows Asus dont offer bios update from inside windows ) however . i noticed i get this bluescreen often when playing shogun 2 but in general i still get BSOD when doing other stuff at random times (ex: other games/work on office package) also sometimes when i play other games i either get BSOD or a sudden system lag where everything stops with a noisy sound coming from my speaker.
btw : in my BSOD i get the famous physical memory dump 100% line at the bottom
and i also updated my graphics drivers and rolled back to the old stable one but with no use

I don't want anything too crazy, just something I can take with me on my IT jobs...
I've narrowed it down to these two...
AMD - Asus X5 Laptop - Laptops at Ebuyer
and
Intel - Asus X5DIJ Laptop - Laptops at Ebuyer
The main differences from what I can see is. The Intel has the extra gig of RAM but the AMD has the better graphics chip.
I do not know how the CPU's compare.
I would be ever so grateful for some good advice.

I am writing this right now because after the last BSOD it said "Windows can not start" and I had to restore to when it was previously working. So up until that point this is what I did.Since working with computers almost my entire life I know most BSOD are due to either bad memory, drivers, or bios. I started there and updated my nvidea drivers but it happened again. I moved to the motherboard bios.I did find a newer one on there and using ASUS tool I flashed the BIOS. Same thing still happened. Next I ran memtestx86 for 8 hours and it returned no errors. At this point I just decided to look for newest drivers for everything. One thing that happened consistently was that my wireless USB adapter from Cisco had to be unplugged and plugged back in for it to work. I went there first, reinstalled the drivers but still the same thing. I thought maybe it was my hard drive. I downloaded Seagates Utility tool and ran all the tests and they all passed fine. I ran defrag just for good measure along with windows version of the mem test and that passed as well. I still continued to get the BSOD and I have to tell you I'm irritated and also stumped.
Next I moved onto software. I have been using AVG free for years but I know virus programs do some crazy stuff and I got rid of that. Turned on windows defender. I decided that since the wireless adapter didn't work after these crashes maybe lets just go to a direct wired connection. I disconnected the cisco wireless adapter and I'm just using a direct connect right to my router. These come at random times.. nothing I do can trigger it. It can stay on for days and not crash and then there are times it can be up for 10 min and crash. Some of you might notice that in the CPU-Z screenshots I had to take the screenshot with the error underneath. Every time I chose either of the two slots it crashed the program.I have not done anything internally besides add some neon to my computer which does not connect to the board at all.I have seen IRQL blue screen once so I even went as far to go into the power settings for windows and make sure the usb and everything never went into any kind of "standby" mode.
I believe this is still under warranty and I would like to go in with good information if I need to challenge and get new hardware if that's what it is.On a side note I have not touched the memory physically. I know some suggestions were to reseed the memory and chip but In my opinion something that has been working for months that never moves off my desk and is never basically touched besides the power button shouldn't mean something just came loose after 4 months of owning it.Again that's just my opinion. I have removed AVG, Ad-Aware, Some webcam motion detector software (which was a joke) and the only thing that was really installed was Skyrim.

This started happening last night while i was playing Borderlands 2, it has happened at idle, playing just about any game in my library, during downloads and just browsing the web. I changed all of my accessible drivers, and it continued to happen, so i moved all of my personal files onto my external HDD. I re installed windows on my SSD (did not reformat) and reformatted my HDD. I re installed my drivers, re-enabled SLI and it ran fine for about an hour, just downloading WoW, and then happened again twice.

I started getting BSOD two weeks ago. As far as I can remember the first time I had a BSOD was on the day I installed Max Payne 3 (I read somewhere that the some guy had also this problem when he installed max payne). There were two occasions that I got a BSOD upon starting Max Payne 3. But lately I'm getting BSOD when doing low-load stuffs like browsing with no other apps opened. I've already done memtest with 10 passes with no errors. I'm 24 hours prime95 stable. I just don't get it! I've manually set my timings for my ram. I'm not doing any overclock. Everything is on stock settings.

I am brand new to this site so forgive me if I miss a step. I was wondering if someone who is good at debugging dump files could give me a second set of eyes on these 2 I will attach. One BSOD is DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE (ntoskrnl.exe) and the other is UNEXEPECTED_KERNAL_MODE_TRAP (ntoskrnl.exe).I have this problem across 15 identical laptops with fresh installs of Win 7 Pro 64Now my guess is this will boil down to a BIOS upgrade, but if there are driver conflicts within these dump files

I am the developer of a driver for a network adapter device that does scatter-gather DMA. Driver is not newly developed, but has had some recent changes. My client has a puzzling BSOD on one x64 machine after about 18 hours of successful operation. My x64 Win 7 machine runs fine forever. Client's box crashes in seemingly random places that indicate mem corruption.Mem test on machine was clean. Minidump is attached. WinDbg stack doesn't trace back to my code - it just shows the calls to handle the exception. Any clues y'all can see?System info from WinDbg:Windows 7 Kernel Version 7601 (Service Pack 1) MP (4 procs) Free x64Product:WinNt, suite: TerminalServer SingleUserTSBuilt by: 7601.17640.amd64fre.win7sp1_gdr.110622-1506One difference between client's x64 and mine: Theirs has a valid DMA MapRegisterBase pointer from a AllocateAdapterChannel call, where mine (and my x86 systems) always have a null DMA MapRegisterBase

My computer has been stable for years, however recently I have been getting BSOD when doing any task. Windows will sometimes load to the desktop and I am able to watch video, run windows score, check email, etc before it will BSOD. Other times, it will BSOD before getting to the windows login screen. When I use safe mode, it logs in and stays there - no BSOD.I have tried removing all extra hardware in the machine, however this has had no affect. I have also tried one stick of RAM, then another, both BSOD.

I just put together an i7 rig today with the Asus P6T motherboard. I'm having a problem with it detecting any of my PCI cards though. I installed the latest drivers for Windows 7 from the Asus site. It claims the driver installed and reboots, but then it doesn't start auto-detecting my PCI cards. Therefore I can't install my sound card or wireless card.
Anyone know why it's not detecting my PCI cards.

Just upgraded to windows 7. The only problem is that Windows blocks the drivers needed for my TV Tuner. A (ASUS PVR-416, Hauppauge Conexant 2388x (BlackBird))
I rolled back the drivers and they sort of work . They are not blokced but the picture is normal for about 30 seconds before going blocky and pixelated.
I believe this to be a driver issue, but can not find the right drivers anywhere, This Tv tuner came out my old HP computer. I have been to the HP web site and have used their drivers. They are all the drivers i have. The ones the get blocked or give me a bad picture.
I have contacted Hauppauge and ASUS and no reply yet from either.
Any Help would be great. I am a college student so I use my computer as my tv and do not have the funds to purchase a new tv tuner card.

Over the past months I have encountered a BSOD roughly every month and I want to get rid of it. The BSOD happens at random (at least as far as I know), not with specific tasks. This morning I started looking for the error and found that turning verifier ON might help in identification. I did this and rebooted a couple of times, every time with the same BSOD occuring during the boot stating something about dne64x.sys
