I have a fresh install of windows 7 on my PC and just installed this card. However I cannot get it to ******* work after 3 hours. Everything is fine except this pos.
I'm sorry for the language but I'm about to hurl the whole computer at this point. It's brand new and every other piece of hardware works fine except for my Internet thanks to the card.

Just got windows 7 the other day for my laptop and I'm loving it so far. Runs absolutely fab on my HP DV9000. However I'm having some issues with wireless driver compatibility for my gaming machine. I'm running 64 bit windows 7 and I'm having to manually install the 64 bit driver for the built in wireless card for my motherboard. I install the driver, it detects the device no problem, and I can even see wireless networks. However when I try to connect to my home network, after I put the WPA-PSK passphrase in, it automatically fails to connect right away. I am convinced this is a driver issue because it works flawlessly on my vista ultimate 64 bit install.
Has anyone else had a problem with this board/driver?
The internal wireless card is the Asus WiFi AP-Solo module (realtek 81somethingorother chip name, I'll grab it when I get home)

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been helping a friend of mine set his new laptop up, and I ran into an issue when I tried to connect to my wireless network. It attempts to connect, then just hangs there. I've tested this on multiple routers. And every time, after a few seconds, it says "No Internet Connection." The internet works when I use an ethernet cable, but not wirelessly. I tried all of the fixes I could find. Disabling ipv6, resetting my router to factory default settings, uninstalling and reinstalling drivers, etc. I even reinstalled Windows 7 with my Window Ultimate install disc (I figured that maybe he had gotten a bad install) and I still had no luck. When I tried pinging the router's IP address (192.168.1.1) and got:

The model of the card is Railink RT5390. The router is an Arris router/modem combo and was supplied to me by Comcast. Tell me if I need to supply more information. Is it possible that it's a bad WLAN card?
I have Asus eee PC since 2010 with Win 7 and never had any problem. I was working on my laptop without any problem. But for last couple of hours I am not able to connect to my wireless network. It doesn't show any network. It only shows the message "Not connected. No connections available". I have internet service through out the house. Wireless is also working on my IPod, IPad and IPhone. I have desktop connected with network wire and internet is working just fine. When I connect my EEE with network cable, everything is working as expected. Only wireless is not working.
I already tried the following:
1. Restarted my eee pc
2. Restarted wireless router (doing this before, would remove any problem but not this time)
3. Tried clicking Fn + F2 buttons
Also, few minutes back my machine was updated with automatic update of Win 7 SP1. Nothing is working.. I don't know what happened. It is so frustrating to see things stop working without any valid reason.
why do i have to place my laptop very near to the wireless router in order to get the signal? Please help. Will this be driver related issue? or the wireless hardware inside of my laptop? Because i remember i drop the laptop once.I have another laptop, where it is able to detect the wireless rounter from far?

I moved my computer to another room a couple of months ago, and the old room has since changed into something else.
Running an Ethernet cable along 50' isn't really an option.

AMD - Asus X5 Laptop - Laptops at Ebuyer
and
Intel - Asus X5DIJ Laptop - Laptops at Ebuyer
The main differences from what I can see is. The Intel has the extra gig of RAM but the AMD has the better graphics chip.
I do not know how the CPU's compare.

In a few days time I will be changing my ISP in the UK from Sky to BT.
BT are providing me with their newest wireless router free of charge as part of the deal and I'll be using that to set up my wireless network, which will consist of an HP Pavilion desktop, a Toshiba laptop, a Sony Vaio laptop, an HP wireless printer and a Samsung HDTV.
This means my Sky wireless router is surplus to requirements, so I was wondering if I could convert it to a wireless access point to improve the range of my BT wireless network.
I've read a couple of supposedly easy-to-understand articles on Google and have to say they left me more confused than ever.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Dell Inspiron 1520 Laptop and stuck windows 7 RTM 32 bit on it. All was well but now connecting wirelessly is slow. Like slower then 56k modem slow. I have a Dell 802.11n wireless mini card installed that works PERFECTLY under windows XP. I was getting 80 % signal strength under Win 7 and getting 1 mbps where as in XP I was getting 78 to 100 mbps with the same signal strength. Oh and ethernet works perfectly fine.
For a time I was able to download the corresponding vista driver from dell and then replace the driver that win 7 automatically installs for it, then flipped the card switch off and on and it would work like it should for a while, but then reverted to the same slow network speeds once the laptop was reset or turned off and on. Now flipping the switch or re-installing doesn't work either. I've tried resetting the router, no go and none of my other computers or products have a problem with it. I've tried doing a few things suggested in other posts, like assigning a static ip, disabling ipv6, etc... Nothing has worked.
I'd love someone who knows what it may be or has heard of this precise problem, although I think I may be stuck waiting until Win 7 makes it debut in Oct and until Dell releases a proper 7 driver for it.

Periodically one of the wireless PCs will see the other wireless devices but not the wired ones. This morning I installed some Win 7 updates and after the restart my laptop can't see the wired devices. My wife's Win 7 laptop sees everything. So the problem is intermittent. I have fiddled with Advanced Settings in Network Sharing, such as turning Network Discovery off and back on again. I can't seem to find the silver bullet that will cure this problem when it occurs.

I installed the latest drivers for Windows 7 from the Asus site. It claims the driver installed and reboots, but then it doesn't start auto-detecting my PCI cards. Therefore I can't install my sound card or wireless card.

I am trying to install Windows 7 on my pc (fresh install) I have the Asus P5N-D Mobo. When Windows 7 gets to the screen to select the drive to install it on, it's blank. I have tried the P5N-D driver disk. Have tried Vista and XP driver's but nothing seems to work. Is there any other reason why Windows 7 can't see my 250 gb hard drive? System specs below:

i managed to load a vlite compressed version via an external dvd drive
it boots up ok but after any command it says something like access denied
i think my vlite "technique" is not up to much

Just upgraded to windows 7. The only problem is that Windows blocks the drivers needed for my TV Tuner. A (ASUS PVR-416, Hauppauge Conexant 2388x (BlackBird))
I rolled back the drivers and they sort of work . They are not blokced but the picture is normal for about 30 seconds before going blocky and pixelated.
I believe this to be a driver issue, but can not find the right drivers anywhere, This Tv tuner came out my old HP computer. I have been to the HP web site and have used their drivers. They are all the drivers i have. The ones the get blocked or give me a bad picture.
I have contacted Hauppauge and ASUS and no reply yet from either.
Any Help would be great. I am a college student so I use my computer as my tv and do not have the funds to purchase a new tv tuner card.
