I decided to run Asus live and have it update my computer. Around the 12th update my computer couldn't connect to the Internet saying my cable may be broken and try a new one. I ran troubleshooter and have a Ethernet Controller doesn't have a driver.
I did the Asus live update, soon as i hit ok, one of my usb slots stopped working but the other is working just fine. It makes the noise when you plug in something, but wont work.
I did a fresh Windows 7 64 bit installation and everything was going fine (besides the BSOD problems about the graphics card which I fixed by renaming nvlddmkm.sys which was the cause of the BSOD) until I tried installing the Ethernet drivers.

Windows doesn't even detect the adapter even though its onboard. I've tried installing the drivers from the original dvd (and in compatible and as administrator) with no luck. I also tried downloading the latest lan drivers from [URL] but it still didn't work. I got a deep sleep error or something. (Which I couldn't resolve cause there's nothing in network connections, not even the 1394 connection which is also turned on in the bios)
No it does not show in device manager under Network adapters. Actually there isn't even a network adapter subcategory unless I click show hidden devices(which has multiple devices then but no network controller). The only driver with a question mark is the graphics card driver which I will try to install after I get the Ethernet adapter working. Microsoft did say its 64 bit compatible [URL] so I don't know what to do. I did check the settings in the bios to see if everything with network was enabled and whatnot.. I also tried resetting everything in the bios to default settings with no luck.
Out of desperation tried adding the device manually through device manager (action>add Legacy hardware>manually>network adapters>have disk..) I tried this with the latest drivers I got from gigabytes website but it didn't even show a device, so I tried the original drivers from the mobo dvd which gave 3 devices.. I tried them all.. each time reinstalling the latest drivers and whatnot to no avail. I'm Thinking of trying to use the windows 64 bit repair disk seeing as it might be software related seeing as it doesn't even show the firewire adapter.
Ihave been searching for a couple of weeks or more for a solution to this and have tried variou things that were suggested after I googled the error, the last one was uninstall live essentials and reinstall it.but after I. Uninstalled it, it would not reinstall and now I am left with no email account or any of the other parts of live essentials?

I have reverted to previous version. Question is in order to use the update and that phantom error should uninstall my version ? Now I am guite happy with this version, how do I stop the nag about update?

My Toshiba Satillite L655-s5153 Laptop doesn't reconize the ethernet port when I plug in my wireless router to the ehternet port. How can this be fixed? I have no internet connection.
I installed windows 7 ultimate on my dell xps15, but can not connect to my wireless network and cannot connect to the internet through an Ethernet cable, i looked around in my devices and noticed these had a yellow exclamation point next to them:[CODE]ecause of this i am not able to use usb drives or connect to the internet in any way on that computer, i dont know what i need to get this fixed and since i cant connect to the internet i sadly cant just update them like i would like to
Today suddenly my internet stopped for no reason! When I open the device manager and click on other devices and click network my Ethernet controller has a little yellow (!)sign next to it and when I click properties it says no driver installed, please tell me what to do! I have drivers I guess, I just installed an Atheros driver there for the network but somehow it doesn't recognize it or I do not know what is the problem/
I've recently formatted my hard-drive on my desktop and reverted to Windows 7 from 8, for many reasons, but upon installation I was unable to connect to the internet through a wired connection. I checked 'Device Manager' and discovered that the Ethernet Controller, PCI Simple Communications Controller and SM Bus Controller were all missing. Naturally, I went to [URL] and checked for a 64 bit Windows 7 Ethernet Driver, as it was the most important of the missing drivers; and downloaded a Realtek Ethernet Utility V2.0.2.1. I ran the Asus Setup in the folder, and the Utility installed. Having essentially no idea what I was doing, I went back and tried to manually find the drivers, thinking they may have been in the 'WIN7' folder of the .zip I downloaded. With no luck, I uninstalled the old drivers entirely from Device Manager, and restarted to see if Windows would install it correctly.
About two months ago I had some money problems and was forced to move in with my dad. I have a 20GB Xbox 360 and Xbox Live. I knew my dad had the internet so I could still use Live.I have been doing so via an Ethernet wire going from my laptop (connected via wireless to the router) to the Xbox.

I just installed Windows 7 in my PC. My old OS is XP. After I installed it, I can't connect to the internet because it says that no drivers are installed. Sorry but I don't know anything about the mb and etc. but my network adapter is built-in. So now I can't update other drivers...
The realtek ethernet controller was not found. If deep sleep mode is enabled please plug the cable.I saw a lot of people having the same problem but there is one problem. I have windows xp while the others had windows 7. I've just formatted my computer and i want to install the drivers. And when i'm trying to install the ethernet drivers it appears this message.
First post here. ~~So I recently dealt with a virus, and I reformatted my PC.Everything is working fine, however I cannot connect to the internet via direct connected through cable to my router.Manufacturer: Cyberpower Inc.Processor: AMD FX(tm)-4100 Quad-Core Processor 3.60 GHzRAM: 8 GBOperating System: Windows 7 service pack1 64-bitI saw another post about the same issue that was fixed by getting a motherboard specified driver. I don't know if I can use those drivers seeing as how I don't have the same motherboard. Atleast I don't imagine. I don't know how I'd go about finding out what motherboard I have. I'm a bit of a noobie here.
My pc is an Advent DT1404. Windows 7 home premium 64 bit.Norton security suiteCPU is Intel(R) Pentium(R) G620@2.60GHz.Graphics card: Intel(R) HD Graphics.Motherboard: Foxconn H61MXL/H61MXL-K.In device properties it says for ethernet controller: no driver for this device. Code 28.Location for device is given as: PCI slot1(pci bus 2.device 0. function 0.)I have no idea what any of this means.I've read elsewhere that I need a chipset driver before controller driver. When I try to access Intel site I have no idea which drivers to download. The pc is playing up. it freezes very often and the mouse works erratically.
I was browsing my Event Viewer when I ran across a series of Event 101 errors, all re: the Marvell Yukon 88E8001/8003/8010 PCI Gigabit Ethernet Controller. There would be a series of identical errors, 6-8 in a row, all with the same time stamp. They repeated once a day, sometimes twice, going back weeks. I never noticed a problem with my Internet connection.
I have a wired cable connection. The power has been going out frequently, because of storms. Could that cause the error messages?
