I have a Setup CD for Vista, and if i put it to compatibility mode it installs all the drivers. But how can i know if the Drivers are working correctly?
And, my PC has low framerate in Flash Games ( When intense ), but that isn't normal is it? The flash player version is 10.
Unfortunately I cannot just upgrade my Vista Home Premium to Windows 7 Ultimate because I have my user files on a separate partition.
The Windows 7 installation DVD says to backup my files prior to installation. It does not specificly say to backup the files using the Windows backup and restore tool provided with Vista. I want to be sure... Can I backup my files using Vista's Backup and Restore and then "restore" or import them during the Windows 7 installation?
I have the Windows 7 RC 7100 build right now. I have installed most of what I need to run and everything is great so far. The only question I have is would all the programs I am running now run in Windows 7 Home Premium since it will not include the Windows XP mode?
I never ran Vista so this mode is new to me. I am assuming that if I need to go in and tell it to run in XP mode that that software would not run in Home Premium. Therefore I am also assuming that if I can install software and it runs without me telling it to run in XP mode, then it should be fine in Home Premium.
I own a acer aspire laptop 5100 series which came with Vista pre installed on it.My ex boyfired decided to install Windows 7 Professional on my laptop earlier this year and now I can't seem to get skype working properly like it use to before Win 7. Nobody can hear me and I've configured the the microphone and speakers to how they should be set in order for skype to work but no one can hear although I can hear every one just fine. I have the latest version on skype installed. I was wondering if the issue is because I have windows 7 on here instead of what it originally came with?
I'm just trying to get Aero working and it's saying my driver isn't compatible."The current video card may support Aero with a driver that is compliant with the Windows Display Driver Model (WDDM). Contact the manufacturer of your computer or video card for a WDDM-compatible driver."I've got the Standard VGA Graphics Adapter and haven't really been able to find a solid answer if there is a compatible driver. If there is no driver can I just install a different graphics adapter or will I need a new card? [code]
I have seen a few posts of people trying to get a list together of sound cards that WILL work in Windows 7. Surely the moderator could compile and forward this request to MS to see what they have to say? I mean, we can't all be dumb! They also can't expect us to throw away our expensive cards just because there are no drivers. Of course, it's not MS's fault that a third party manufacturer doesn't update their drivers, and we all expect Creative Labs to drop us like a hot stone once they have our cash in their greedy little paws, but there HAS to be a solution somewhere? (Solution 1: make mental note not to buy Creative Labs *anything*, and I'm basing this on experience stretching back a bit).
My sound is from an onboard chip, so I will probably have to purchase a new card just to get sound. I have tried everything: BIOS enable/disable audio, get drivers from the Fujitsu site for a SCALEO 800s (you try that one...good luck), uninstall Windows 7 updates, move IRQs around, allow ESCD reset in BIOS, XP compatibility mode...no luck. The chip is a Sis 7012 with ESS ES1968 Maestro-2, according to those lovely driver update applications that are all FREE until you have to put in your credit card; you know the type.
The only thing hardware manufacturers CAN design and implement properly is a cash register, because that's all they seem to want. Once you've made the purchase, they don't want anything to do with you. MS, please come to the rescue with the following:
a) a list of Windows 7 compatible sound cards - LEGACY - ,
b) a list of new cards on/near the market
c) a more subtle compatibility mode that will say "I haven't found your driver, but in the interests of your sanity, click OK for me to install a compatible one until we get this mess sorted out."
I cant install Nvida driver v182.50 (32bit drivers) for my Virtual XP mode, though the screen looks fine with the generic driver but one of the software needs open GL support & uses GPU for which i need nvida drivers to be installed.
When Installing I get the error
"nvida setup program could not locate any drivers that are compatible with your current hardware. setup will now exit"
I download the 32bit drivers isn't that what I need?
I'm fairly new to Windows 7. Installed today, everything seems to work fine... except.. I can not find the WiFi drivers for the ASUS P5K Deluxe WiFi-AP mobo (ASUSTeK Computer Inc.).
Tried to run the setup on my old cd w/ Vista compability, but that didn't seem to work. Then I found some drivers here: ASUSTeK Computer Inc.-Support-
Does anyone here know where to find the wireless driver, or when it eventually might be released?
I have a Toshiba Satellite A665-S5 184 laptop and I kept looking for Drivers compatible with Windows 7 on 32 bits and it seems like I can not find any compatible drivers on net. I have the drivers for win.7 for 64 bits and they work, but I need the drivers for win.7 _32bits.
I have a Dell Vostro 1015, I need to install wireless drivers on it.While installation I get a message saying "No compatible hardware found. The software you are attempting to install is not supported on this system. The software will not be installed. Setup will exit now". I am trying this from past 5 months. I have tried it on both 64 and 32 bit windows 7
I've just updated my Acer Notebook to Windows 7. I've installed all the drivers that Acer supplies for Windows 7.
But what about the drivers that are not supplied? Should I install the ones that Acer supplies for Vista or stick with the 'pre-installed' drivers by Windows 7 ... Everything seems to work with the pre-installed ones.
And how do I check wether or not the Intel Turbo Memory is working correctly?
In general, can Vista drivers be used in Windows 7? I notice some of my equipment has drivers for Vista, but not W7. Is this because the manufacturer simply has not got around to producing W7 drivers?ermissions - Is there a way to take ownership of the entire hard drive? It seems like every time I turn around I have another folder that will not allow me to interact without changing the permissions.
I currently have a HP Pavilion dv6799ep running Windows Vista Premium 32-bit, but I got a new license for Windows 7 Professional 64-bit and I would like to know if the Windows Vista 64-bit drivers will work on this version.
Do windows 7 support windows vista drivers? im asking this because i've got geforce fx 5200 and there is no windows 7 drivers for it. I found on google, that windows 7 supports vista's drivers fine.
I used to have Vista 32-bit on here and I recently upgraded to Windows 7 64-bit. The problem is that the Sony website doesn't release Windows 7 64-bit drivers for my model as it is only sold with Vista 32-bit.
it says that Windows 7 is not supported. (I have ran the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor and my computer seemed to check out and pass all the system requirements.)
Can anyone help me out with finding where all necessary driver updates for my computer are, as many things I've noticed either don't function the same or at all as they used to when I had Vista?
Here's a list of all the problems that I've noticed so far.
- Scroll on touch pad didn't work (Resolved by downloading Synaptics drivers, although the official drivers would be nice.)
- Plugging into the headphone jack didn't do anything (Resolved by downloading Realtek drivers)
- Volume buttons change the volume in very tiny increments and doesn't show the levels on screen (Major issue for me.) - Doesn't support Dual/Multi Monitors - Doesn't recognize MIDI Controllers (Resolved. Not sure how.) - Card reader doesn't work. (Another major problem.) - Webcam doesn't work. (Built-in mic seems to work fine.) - "AV Mode" button does nothing (I've never had a use for this button but before it would make the whole screen go black.) - Function commands on keyboard don't work (ie. Fn + F5/F6 for brightness up/down)
I'm really worried that the drivers that would resolve these issues don't exist!
