Allow Non Administrator To Calibrate Touch Screen
Nov 3, 2009I need to allow non administrators to calibrate the touch screen. As you can see, the calibrate button causes the UAC login to appear. Does anyone know a way around this?

View 3 RepliesI understand with the correct specs, drivers, vid card (and monitor?) that Windows 7 PCs can have touch screen capability.
The HP TouchSmart IQ545a already has that, with Vista.
If I am in the markert for a new PC, and WANT at least the ability to have a Windows 7 Upgrade voucher for future use AND want touchscreen capability, what do I specifically look for spec-wise?
In other words, are there any presently available PCS apart from the HP, that CAN have the touchscreen capabilty when on Windows 7. And is the HP TouchSmart IQ545a upgradable to Windows 7, anyone know, that would then retain touchscreen capability post-upgrade?
I've heard that the desktop computer & the lap top computers will have a setting on the computer so you can touch what your doing. Well I do have to ponder a question to you guys that are testing Windows Seven out be for the release date comes.
My question's:Will the screen break if you use the touch screen on a lap top? Do I need to get a specially monitor for the touch screen that will be add to Windows Seven? If I do need a specially touch screen, will Windows Seven come up with one that does expect Windows Seven software. An if I wanted to get a touch screen how wood I know if it is a touch screen other then a regular monitor, wood it say it is a touch screen ect.
I notice that 7 will have touch screen capability, I'd appreciate any information on setting up, or general data on such. What I've seen so far is all a little vague.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI thought I would give windows 7 a go about a week ago on my Home system and loved it so much I've decided to install on my "carpc" that's fitted in my Toyota Hilux
The install seemed to go well just like it did on my Home system, with even the touch screen being found, only problem I could not get it to Calibrate very precise.
One thing I noticed right away was Windows 7 seems to have a built in Touch Screen interface that only shows the options to when it knows a Touch screen is present, for example you can scroll about in word docs, or internet explorer just by placing your finger anywhere on the screen rather than the little bar on the right you normally have to use which can be hard on a 7" touch screen.
There is a better on screen keyboard that pops out when needed if using the touch screen, also the cursor changes to a small dot rather than a mouse cursor, but changes back as soon as you move the mouse. I'm sure there are other features I not had chance to find yet.
My only problem now is due to me not being able to calibrate the screen as good as normal I decided to install the Software/drivers from the screen manufacture, I used the Vista version which worked well, and now the screen is calibrated perfectly.
The problem is now windows 7 has taken away all the touch screen options in the control panel, plus all the above features I said no longer happen
Any idea how I can get them back while still maintaining my manufactures driver/software?
Just bought the Samsung All in One PC and the Touch Screen stopped working:[URL]This is new territory for me although I know my way around Windows.how to get the Touch Screen back on?

View 3 Replies View RelatedYou know, I've been well impressed over this last week of running Windows 7 that I've treated myself to a new large computer desk, a new case (Antec Skeleton) and a nice set of Creative speakers. Now it suddenly occured to me that Microsoft was bragging recently about the touchscreen abilities of Windows 7, and now I'm thinking "where can I get a touchscreen Monitor from, here in the UK?". Hey, I'm a geek!!
Looked on feebay, but they are limited as to what's on offer.
Any suggestions?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm using the Lenovo multi touch driver for my X61T. With Windows 7 build 7000 the same driver when I wake my laptop from sleep the touch screen works. Starting with build 704x (i can't remember the exact build but it was the first leaked x64 build) when I wake the machine from sleep the touch screen doesn't work (both pen and finger touch)
I have tried to change USB settings but I haven't seen any fix. A restart of the machine means the tablet works again. Any ideas about a patch until Lenovo makes new drivers for Windows 7?
A member of my family has windows 7 home premium, and would like to get a touch screen monitor for their pc, so their son can use the pc by touching the screen, as he does at his school. They have seen one, and I was wondering if they can just buy the monitor and plug it in, or do they need to buy anything extra? Is it easy to configure the desktop to use touchscreen?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an ergo AS2 all-in-one PC with built in Touchscreen Display on WIndows 7. All drivers are installed, and the touch screen is working, however the Mouse Pointer on screen is bugging the hell out of me.I have USB mouse plugged in as well, and when using the USB mouse, i get the default white arrow, but as soon as I use finger on the Touchscreen the Mouse pointer changes to a small diamond. When I take my finger of the screen, the mouse pointer dissappears alltogether (until the next time i touch or move the mouse)I want the touchscreen Mouse pointer to stay the same as the normal white arrow. I have tried all the options under Mouse settings and Pen and Touch, but none work.

Does anyone know how to hide the Administrator account on the login screen but keep it enabled?
I found this article, but it doesn't achieve what I was hoping for.
Displaying only 1 user at the login screen.
And why doesn't crtl-alt-del not work anymore at the login screen?
for ACER 5740 G WIN 7 home premiumi enabled the administrator in WIN 7 Home Premium with a password and hide this for the log in. All other users are standard users. Now I am unable to login to the administrator log in opiton. How can I unhide the administrator log in. Since I did this I have administrator password.
View 1 Replies View RelatedA little background and info: I support a number of people who for one reason or another need to be able to do things a local admin can do like install programs and start services (or more accurately allow a program they're running to start a service). All users are in the local administrators group. The local admin account is enabled (and renamed) so that we as administrators have local access when the machine comes in for service. The machines are joined to a AD domain so that we can control a lot of the security via GPO. Everything worked fine in XP.
We are getting a few different "you do not have permission" errors. When the user tries to run OpenAFS (which starts a service) they get a "you do not have permission" error. There is no way around this error.
Also, when the users try to run Lotus Notes they get a "you do not have permission" error. When we go into compatibility mode and check the "run as administrator" (or just right click and "run as administrator) it works fine, but they have to click the elevated privileges. The program was installed while logged in as the user.
Again, all users are members of the local administrators group. When the local admin account logs in all these programs run fine. This behavior started in Vista and I chalked it up to "vista sucks". Windows 7 so far seems to be great, except that like in vista, members of the local administrators group are not really local administrators. How do I make them true local administrators?
I use an old XP app (JetToolbar - available at JetToolBar - Free software downloads and software reviews - CNET Download.com) and do not want to change but I cant make it work on Windows 7. The application installs and starts up just fine but it is not possible to drag icons/programs/files to the toolbar - I just get the 'no entry' sign (Circle with line through)However, the application runs fine when logged on to the hidden Administrator account. If I set up the application in the hidden Admin account and then log on as a normal admin user and run it from that account, the icons I set up are just not visible. So what do I have to change in my normal user account (member of administrators) to make this drag and drop work?I have tried 'Run as administrator' but that made no difference. Ive read about dropping to 'Run as User' apps from 'Run as Admin' apps but that's not the problem (at least problem occurs when app is run as user or run as admin)

Dell had told me the only way to do this would be to return to factory settings. I originally purchased my computer with Vista and recently upgraded to Windows 7. With Vista, disabling the touchpad only required entering a check in a box. Now that I have Windows 7 the options are different. 'Touch Pad Pal' doesn't work at all.
