Adobe Reader 9 Compatibilities

I have just purchased a new computer with Windows 7 and I also downloaded Adobe Reader 9 to my computer. I have emails that come to me through my yahoo acct. that when I down load are in adobe software. When it opens up it opens in Microsoft Word and shows up encoded and unable to read. I use my friends computer set up with same system and it opens fine with no problem. Can someone please help me fix this issue. I need to get the emails for my college courses.

Error Message From Adobe Reader
I installed Win 7 RC1 on my Toshiba Satellite A135 as an upgrade to Vista Home Premium.  I already had Adobe Reader 8 installed and it seems to work allright when I use it to open a file.

When I log into my secure, online banking site using IE8, Adobe starts up also and displays this message:  Cannot use Adobe Reader to view PDF in your web browser. Reader will now exit. Please exit your browser and try again.

I have tried running the application compatibility tool and found no issues.  The browser continues to work fine, so I'm not sure what would cause this to occur only when I log into this one particular site.

Adobe Flash
Adobe labs have announced the release of the 64 bit Flash player 10.1 and Active X. See attached for info. Regretably it will not work with IE 64 bit.

Adobe only has 64 bit flash for Linux. There is no 64 bit flash for Windows yet. See this thread for more info. Latest Version of Adobe Flash Player

Adobe Flash Nagging
I'm running Windows7 RC1 64bit. Most internet pages want me to download Adobe Flash Player. I suppose no one has told Adobe that they don't have a 64bit player. So, whether I say yes, download it or no, don't download it, the nagging continues.

Any suggestions for stopping it?

Adobe Flash Player 10
Trying to install Flash Player 10 with the 32 bit version of the beta. I'm running on administrator (of course), though the setup file gets blocked whenever I run it, saying it was done by administrator. Went to check the settings, tried the Run as Administrator option, gave Full Control to all users, nothing to do. Any clues as to what's the cause of the problem ?

BSOD With Adobe Lightroom
I use Adobe Lightroom every day or 2. With Windows 7, I get the Blue Screen of Death approximately twice a week while using Lightroom. (PC & software details below). I can't vouch for every instance, but the last 3 or 4 times, BSOD occurred (1) while importing photos from a SD card or (2) while viewing photos, zooming in & out.

Interestingly, the problem has not occurred while I process photos, a much more resource-intensive task.  As an aside, no data loss has occurred with BSOD, even when it happened during photo import.

When using Lightroom, I always have other programs open-- usually Opera (I know, anathema) and Windows Live Mail. With Vista, Lightroom would hang (not responding) & occasionally would crash, but it never induced BSOD.

The hanging & crashing have rarely occurred with W7. Your thoughts or suggestions would be very welcome. Specifics: Adobe Photoshop Lightroom, version 2.3Windows 7 PC:Toshiba Satellite L355D laptopAMD Turion(tm) 64 X2 Mobile Technology TL-603 GB RAMGraphics:  ATI Radeon X1250

Adobe Flash 9 + Firefox 3.5.3 Issues
I recently installed a RTM Windows 7 Pro on my laptop (upgraded from XP), and now I'm starting to run into a little browser issues involving Adobe Flash.

Youtube, and other video sites seem to work just fine, but for some odd reason, a couple sites, such as Kotaku.com, always initiates some random Adobe Flash 9 "where is the debugger or host application running?" popup error. The real annoyance is however, that this message pops up repeatedly for maybe 8-10 times before this second error log message is displayed. I have no idea what this message even means.

I noticed there is a new Adobe Flash 10 version out, as well as Shockwave 11, and have installed both, but in my Firefox's browser plugin menu, Shockwave Flash is still listed as version 9... Is there a way to completely remove this?

Adobe Flash Player And Cams
I seem to be having a problem every time I go to sites that use  Adobe Flash Player to open my integrated laptop webcam, I get the popup screen (with webcam page in back) with the warning, saying I could be registered etc, but if I try to accept or refuse, both buttons do not work, and my cam will not open... Opening dialogue page seems to be frozen...

Other places not using flash, such as MSN, I have no problem with...

I've uninstalled Flash and reinstalled it many times, but always the same issue...

I use Firefox as my browser. I also tried opening it through IE and have the same issue...

Any help?

I have read other posts suggesting that AFP work with Win7. what am I doing wrong? I'm using the 64-bit version of Win7. which OS do I select from the Adobe download site? I had had assumed that Vista would be the closest option, however, I am no closer to viewing online video content having installed AFP.

Any thoughts / suggestions ?

Adobe Flash Player Plugin Freezing
I recently bought an HP Pavilion dv4-1430us. It used to have Vista Home Premium x64, but I have upgraded it to Windows 7 Ultimate x64 recently.

On Vista, flash player ran perfectly smoothly with no issues. However, after the upgrade, after watching a few videos, it would suddenly freeze up. After I crash firefox or stop running the plugin on chrome, flash pages would no longer work. That is to say, after restarting any browser, as soon as I start up something like a youtube video, it would freeze up the browser forcing me to crash the browser or the plugin.

Even after I uninstall flash player and reinstall it, the browser would still immediately freeze before I can watch any bit of the video. The only solution so far is restarting my computer. But after a few videos the same thing happens. I have uninstalled a Windows update KB976749 as suggested in a previous thread, but that didn't solve my problem at all. Hardware acceleration has been turned off. Since it worked fine in Vista x64, I believe this is strictly a Windows 7 issue.
