Having problem trying to download Adobe Reader X on HP Windows 7 Pro 32bit laptop of wifes.I can get to accept the ActiveX control then just nothing happens at all after that.Tried a malware scan, windows is upto date.I only want Adobe X no other software options.
I was using IE 9 32-bit version together with Adobe PDF Reader 10. When I would try to open a PDF file from within the browser, it would and the Web Address would continue to display at the top of the window while browing the PDF document. I could then continue using IE 9 and move on to other pages and etc. Now, I have swtiched to using the IE 9 64-bit version. What happens now is that when I enter an address in the web browser and it's a direct link to a PDF file example url...it opens up with no problems, but I no longer see the IE 9 Web Address shown anywhere. So in essence, that page becomes a Adobe PDF program window and I loose my IE 9 access. I guess the PDF files are no longer displayed within the browser (althought I have it check ON).
Running Windows 7. Unable to open PDF attachments direct from the Windows Live Mail. Despite making sure the file association is showing Adobe Reader for PDF attachments.
i set up my shortcuts to be opened by Adobe reader (by accident). You know how you can left click on an icon and select from the menu OPEN WITH..., well by accident i clicked on a shortcut and selected it to be opened by Adobe reader, And now all my shortcuts in START menu are being opened by Abobe reader . Of course it doesnt work. I dont know how to reverse it... Please let me know how to make shortcuts to be opened by shortcut exe. This is my work computer and it is very annoying that none of the shortcuts work in START menu. I have to actually go to the C drive and find the folder with actual program im trying to use. I tried creating a new shortcut just to see if the new one will work and it would creat it with adobe reader icon. I click on it and it says that it cannot be read.
I view an e-book in adobe reader, it has 456 pages in it and lots of images and graphics. When I scroll, resize the adobe reader window it "lags" and becomes slow. Also when I scroll, there is some noise coming out of my laptop and when I stop scrolling it stops too.
I'm a little perplexed with AAR10 with regards to magnification...? I have purchased some eBooks from Waterstones, a lot cheaper than an actual book... okay, whenever I open the PDF files they are magnified at such an inane percentage I have to decrease it to 100%. Is there a way in which you can alter the magnification to 100% so it stays at 100% other than the default 250% which is just ridiculous.AD Forum said to the change the magnification and then saving the PDF as a different name, does it change the settings... dose it $@^(" It's no bother changing the magnification, it's just a pain in the butt.
I recently started having problems on two computers that both run Win 7 64-bit. The problem is that when opening a PDF file I get this box indicating to choose these options and then there is a check box to not ask me about it again. If I check it off, it goes away. Then when I try to close the tab that houses the PDF file, it will crash IE with acroread.dll being the culprit. What happens next is that if I try to read another PDF, the same box that I already told not to come up again will come back. It seems like it isn't getting the proper permissions to hold this setting. I found a fix via Google that said to just open up the Reader program and check off the box there -- that fixed the pop up box problem. The remaining problem is that gardless of if I update to the latest version of either program, I continue to have IE's tab crash whenever I close the tab that houses the PDF file.
I am having the same issue with Adobe Reader disabling ALL applications. I've scanned for viruses and such. No viruses detected yet Reader is still disabling my applications.
I have been trying to Update Adobe Reader for weeks now when asked and kept on getting this error message " Error 1310.Error writing to file:C:\Config.Msi\1658852.rbf. Verify that you have access to that directory " ... Someone told me too just un-install Adobe and re-install but when i tried to re-install a similar error message failed in the install.
Windows 7 recently updated to Adobe Reader X 10.1.1 from 10.0 and now, every time I try to open a pdf file, the screen flashes, changes from 1368x720 down to 640x320, reduces screen size and open a dialog box stating "There is a problem with your system configuration". It gives options to open in protected mode, protected mode disabled, or always open in protected mode. Now, let me also state that I have also installed the 64bit iFilter suggested by Adobe themselves and have looked for registry changes or missing file components, of which I can find none. I realize Adobe is not truly 64-bit compatible, however, it used to work fine and it will not roll back the driver to 10.0 where it worked flawlessly.I know that McAfee and iolo both can cause system conflicts with this program in Win 7 64 bit, but have never seen anything quite like this. I removed System Mechanic and AVG both, cleared the temp files and registry locations, uninstalled Adobe and re-installed. I also tried removing Silverlight and performing the same procedure, all to no avail.System is a Dell Inspiron i3 processor, 4GB of memory, Win 7 Home Premium 64-bit. Had zero issues until the update.
The "read out loud" feature will not work on my Adobe Reader X. It loads, and acts as if it should work, but I cannot hear anything. There are NO issues with my computer's audio.
I now have windows 7 and my adobe reader 9 does not work, neither can I convert a pdf file to a word document - use to be able to do this when I had window vista and Microsoft word 7. So much for buying update software.
I cannot get the thumbnails coming up in explorer on win7 sp1 professional.I have all the .psd, jpeg, .bmp, .cr2, raw and everything else working but not the .PDF.I have tried everything, uninstalled, reinstalled, foxt pdf, x-change pdf and all sorts of thumbnail tweaks you name it, deleted acrobat reg entries etc etc.......I tried the fix created by the pretenciousname person who made a proggy to fix the issue, didnt work.
I downloaded Adobe Photoshop (Portable) and installed it. Then I wanted to change the location where it was saved. I tried to move it but it couldnt be moved so I copied and pasted it into a new location. I know I should uninstall but since I just wanted 1 copy, I deleted one. After that, most of the other Adobe programs were affected. When I opened some, they would say that some files are missing or my license has expired. Some started asking for serial number or to register. When I opened Adobe Photoshop Elements 7.0 it said Photoshop Elements Help was missing and there were missing icons on the right side. I uninstalled and reinstalled the programs. I downloaded some but they cant be installed. It always says some files are missing.
I did a clean install on my new HP pavillion model a6632f, everything works other than I can't get the 15 in 1 reader to show up. There are no unknown devices in device manager.
When I put a CF or an SDHC card in the internal (USB) cardreaderor in an external (USB) cardreader, those cards are not seen, although the readers are seen alright. When I disconnect the internal reader, put a card in it, and connect it again to USB, the card is seen. Take the card out, put it in again; no card. Same with he external reader.I checked Device Manager on possible wrong settings, but couldn't find anything.
im running an evga sli 58x, and windows 7 64bit 7077
i have the RC1 version of windows 7 but i hate to install that and as i have all my games and everything id have to reinstall with it(major pain) plus im not even sure if that would fix my problem
anyways when i plug my card reader in i can't access it at all, it does show up in device manager but it says drivers not installed. I don't think they make this card reader anymore and there would be drivers floating around for a card reader, so what are my choices?
I bought this Generic USB All in 1 Mini Card Reader off eBay (Some Cheap chinese thing) It worked fine on my previous setup, Windows Vista x64, and it still works on my fathers computer, Vista x64 I believe. But When I try to connect it to my current Windows 7 x64 install, it justs gives me an I/O device error, I think it might have something to do with the Device driver for Win 7 It might not be compatible, I don't know just thought somebody might have an idea if I can get it to work in Windows 7.
