View 1 RepliesI have imported my Outlook Express files into Live Mail (from an XP machine to a laptop running windows 7) using the import function in Live Mail. When I look in the Storage Folders there are no files to view. In the Quick Views I am able to read and see unread emails from Outlook Express but not emails that I have read on my XP machine. To do the import I copied the files from the XP machine to a USB stick and then on the laptop browsed to find the files on the stick. The folder containing the OE files in not read only.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI was using IE 9 32-bit version together with Adobe PDF Reader 10. When I would try to open a PDF file from within the browser, it would and the Web Address would continue to display at the top of the window while browing the PDF document. I could then continue using IE 9 and move on to other pages and etc. Now, I have swtiched to using the IE 9 64-bit version. What happens now is that when I enter an address in the web browser and it's a direct link to a PDF file example url...it opens up with no problems, but I no longer see the IE 9 Web Address shown anywhere. So in essence, that page becomes a Adobe PDF program window and I loose my IE 9 access. I guess the PDF files are no longer displayed within the browser (althought I have it check ON).

You know how you can left click on an icon and select from the menu OPEN WITH..., well by accident i clicked on a shortcut and selected it to be opened by Adobe reader, And now all my shortcuts in START menu are being opened by Abobe reader . Of course it doesnt work. I dont know how to reverse it... Please let me know how to make shortcuts to be opened by shortcut exe. This is my work computer and it is very annoying that none of the shortcuts work in START menu. I have to actually go to the C drive and find the folder with actual program im trying to use. I tried creating a new shortcut just to see if the new one will work and it would creat it with adobe reader icon. I click on it and it says that it cannot be read.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm a little perplexed with AAR10 with regards to magnification...? I have purchased some eBooks from Waterstones, a lot cheaper than an actual book... okay, whenever I open the PDF files they are magnified at such an inane percentage I have to decrease it to 100%. Is there a way in which you can alter the magnification to 100% so it stays at 100% other than the default 250% which is just ridiculous.AD Forum said to the change the magnification and then saving the PDF as a different name, does it change the settings... dose it $@^(" It's no bother changing the magnification, it's just a pain in the butt.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI recently started having problems on two computers that both run Win 7 64-bit. The problem is that when opening a PDF file I get this box indicating to choose these options and then there is a check box to not ask me about it again. If I check it off, it goes away. Then when I try to close the tab that houses the PDF file, it will crash IE with acroread.dll being the culprit. What happens next is that if I try to read another PDF, the same box that I already told not to come up again will come back. It seems like it isn't getting the proper permissions to hold this setting. I found a fix via Google that said to just open up the Reader program and check off the box there -- that fixed the pop up box problem. The remaining problem is that gardless of if I update to the latest version of either program, I continue to have IE's tab crash whenever I close the tab that houses the PDF file.

View 5 Replies View RelatedWindows 7 recently updated to Adobe Reader X 10.1.1 from 10.0 and now, every time I try to open a pdf file, the screen flashes, changes from 1368x720 down to 640x320, reduces screen size and open a dialog box stating "There is a problem with your system configuration". It gives options to open in protected mode, protected mode disabled, or always open in protected mode. Now, let me also state that I have also installed the 64bit iFilter suggested by Adobe themselves and have looked for registry changes or missing file components, of which I can find none. I realize Adobe is not truly 64-bit compatible, however, it used to work fine and it will not roll back the driver to 10.0 where it worked flawlessly.I know that McAfee and iolo both can cause system conflicts with this program in Win 7 64 bit, but have never seen anything quite like this. I removed System Mechanic and AVG both, cleared the temp files and registry locations, uninstalled Adobe and re-installed. I also tried removing Silverlight and performing the same procedure, all to no avail.System is a Dell Inspiron i3 processor, 4GB of memory, Win 7 Home Premium 64-bit. Had zero issues until the update.

View 3 Replies View RelatedAfter a clean install of Windows 7, I installed Office 2007. I also installed Windows Live Mail not to use it as an e-mail client, but only as an intermediate to import mail accounts. Therefore, I imported all my many e-mail accounts to Windows Live Mail from previously saved IAF files. Until here all worked as expected. The problem is that now, when I try to "Import internet mail account settings" from Windows Live Mail to Outlook it just answers "No internet accounts were found to import". How come?
Can someone please instruct me on how to overcome this problem, please?

View 2 Replies View RelatedThis is quite a complex operation and MS doesn't actually explain how to do it so here goes.
The trick is to get your email messages into Outlook Express (OE on XP) or Windows Mail (on Vista) before you can import into Windows Live mail. Then the import can be done directly.
There isn't any way currently to import mail directly from Outlook to Windows Live Mail so you have to do it indirectly BEFORE installing Windows 7.
1) even if you don't use Outlook Express (XP) or Windows Mail (VISTA) you need to have them running on the same machine as your copy of OUTLOOK.
2) create (if you haven't already) email accounts in OE or Windows mail identical to those you have in Outlook.
3) Now import your messages from Outlook into OE or Windows Mail.
4) Change the Store Identity in OE or Windows mail to a disk that your Windows 7 can read (do this under Maintenance - data storage locations in OE or Windows Mail).
Doing this saves you having to install Live Mail on Vista or XP
5) Logon to your Windows 7 system and install Windows Live mail.
6) Set up your email accounts
7) File ==> import==>messages
8) Chose Outlook express or Windows mail depending on step 3)
9) Browse to the directory where you stored the messages in step 4)
10) Job done.
A bit fiddly but obviously MS don't want to make it easy for people to switch from Outlook
Note also the "Send and Receive" function is calles "SYNC" in Windows Live mail -- confusing but there it is.
If you also installed Windows Messenger you can prevent it from starting automatically at startup by going to the Orb ==>acessories==>run. type msconfig and unclick windows messenger in the start up box.
There doesn't appear to be ANY method of importing mail directly from Outlook 2003/2007.
