i am having a problem with my acer aspire 6930 i think my hdd crashed recently, here is what happened i pressed power and the machine would not load to windows and with further check the hdd was not coming u in the bios so i replaced the hdd with a seagate 500gb sata, now this hdd is read just fine in the bios, i do to boot from cd and try installing windows 7, at first it looked like all was well until it passed over an hour and the install was nowhere near finished anyway this took 3+ hours and when it is rebooting to complete the installation, after it boots pass the bios it goes to a blank screen with a blinking line at the upper left of the screen, 5 mins after the line stops blinking 10 mins later it says starting windows 5-10 mins later the animated windows icon comes then that takes anther 20 mins to boot to the home screen, now i know this is not normal but cannot get any advise about it and i am forced to believe the motherboard may be faulty but i need advise in case i am missing something
Ethernet Controller driver is missing after system crash made it so I had to reinstall Windows 7-64 bit. Can't find one on the internet. Right now can only work wirelessly.
here recently my acer 7552-6061 laptops hard drive went bad, and i swapped the hard drive out of my 6930 to check and see if that was truely the problem with my 7552g. It was the problem, so i ordered a new hdd for the 7552g. When i went to install the hdd back in my 6930, it would not recognize it.
I've tried:
Resetting cmos by jumping G1/G2 Switching from IDE/AHCI controllers Removing and reinstalling ram/hdd Downloading AHCI controller drivers from acer support ( which are not "compatible" with any hardware on the PC)
The HDD is not recognized in BIOS nor windows 7 setup. Also, BIOS takes a little longer to get passed now ( roughly 1-2mins compared to nearly instant before.)
I have a recently bought Acer Aspire 5745g and made a clean install of Windows 7 since I couldn't stand all the jibberish that accompanied the laptop in the first place. However, when I run all the drivers provided by Acer (their website, didn't get any CD/DVD) all devices except one function properly; "PCI simple communications controller".
Without pushing the Aspire nearly as hard as I could push my old one (3 years old HP nx9420) it got too warm and froze twice. Hence I'm thinking the "PCI simple communications controller" maybe could have something to do with the fan speed (barely noticeable wind-flow)??
my acer aspire 9410 dvd driver wont work now that i have upgraded to windows 7. It says it is incompatible. I have looked on the acer site and it appears for the 9410 they don't have drivers for windows 7.I tried the vista drivers download but it won't work. Any ideas on how I can get the correct driver? The message I get says "contact vendor for a new driver code (code 48)
I created a partition and installed XP on it and the game installs correctly (installation wouldn't even start on Win7) and it runs. However, the drivers I got when I bought the laptop are only compatible with Win7 (video drivers, wifi/lan drivers, the audio driver works fine on XP however).Because of this driver problem, I have no graphics driver to run the game (I know it works because I can start the game and hear the audio). I also couldn't connect to the internet to find and update drivers on that specific machine.
So I searched for them on another computer but after hours of searching, downloading and transferring the files to my Acer, failed to find any compatible with XP.The Acer website which I downloaded these drivers from mentions they work on XP in the description but they wouldn't install, giving the error 'not support on this operating system' or similar.FYI the hardware for the drivers I needed were: - Lite-on Wireless LAN 3rd WiFi BGN Atheros HB97 (OR Broadcom LAN BCM57780 for ethernet connection)- Intel VGA Chip UMAHas
I accidentally reinstalled the wrong Operating System Recovery CD on my Acer Aspire 5534 laptop, and I want to return it back to factory settings. How do I do I restore it back to factory settings?

I checked "Device manager" and they showed that I have no driver for [Ethernet Controller, Network Controller ,and Video Controller] . I think I deleted Windows.old already , so now I can't recover the original driver . I did a search but can't find anywhere .
