I installed the realtek audio drivers for windows vista from the Acer website,ran them in compatibility mode and still Windows won't detect it. There are also no audio devices shown in the device manager.

Jun 3, 2012I have a sound issue on an acer aspire 5741 the sound drivers are the realtek6.0.1.6602 high def audio driver and also the intel display audio high def audio buswhen I play sound through either the speakers or the headphones jack the sound is distorted like an effect has been added when I test the speakers through the testing it sounds clear and perfect I have removed third party audio editing software such as audacity software and audio box

I'm not computer literate but the on the computer seemed to get lost when I tried to download the manual. What I would call an invading software called livid. Jan 23, 2013I created a partition and installed XP on it and the game installs correctly (installation wouldn't even start on Win7) and it runs. However, the drivers I got when I bought the laptop are only compatible with Win7 (video drivers, wifi/lan drivers, the audio driver works fine on XP however).Because of this driver problem, I have no graphics driver to run the game (I know it works because I can start the game and hear the audio). I also couldn't connect to the internet to find and update drivers on that specific machine.
