660ti GPU Utilization Is Just 42-58 % While Heavy Games Like BF3 GTX 4
Sep 19, 2012
GPU utilisation is just 42-58 % while heavy games like GTX 4 episode from Liberty, also in crysis 2 many times it is just 70-80% at 1600*900 resulution and quality is maxout in COD MW3 and black opps it fails to maintain 60 FPS constant in Battlefield 3 Armod kill utilization is just 43-73 % while FPS are below 30-45 and why effective memory is 3000 Mhz instead of 6000 mhz
while few days back my gpu utilization was 90-110 % in bf3 but in 2-3 days it is making me sad why gpu utilisation sucks in most of games while it was working fine during 1st 5 days when i buy is my gpu is half-Dead and go for replacement ?? my specifications are i5-650 , 16 gb 1333 MHZ ram , and PCIe 2.0 slot and 3000 mhz memory is a problem of PCIe 2.0 ?? [URL] and many times it underclock gpu , utilisation 30 % and fps 20 , hollyshit I think i made big mistake buying gtx 660ti instead of HD7950
I play a lot of games that are considered kinda mainstreamed and the hardware requirements are kinda low. But the problem I am having is that after I exit the game the CPU utilization remains high and I don't know why? It leaves the PC running sluggish and I'd have to restart PC if I want to start a new game. The only thing I would have running in the background is WINAMP.
My system specs: C2Dou e6550 2.33 OCed 2.5 DDR2 4GB 4870 512GDDR5 @ 1920x1200res Windows 7 64bit home premium is on a SSD32GB and a 300GBmaxter for storage
And the games I experience a hang after exiting are: CnC3 Tiberium Wars League of Legends Global Agenda COD Black OPS COD MW2
And a side note I have the "Paging File" disabled and same thing goes for the "back up feature", the automatic defrag setting is also unchecked.
I recently Upgraded my card to Jet Stream 660 ti and now I am facing problems, I play BF3 on my pc a lot and ever since I upgraded my card my system keeps on crashing , games minimizes sometimes and never get to fullscreen, sometimes I my get stuck at red screen and nothing comes up just the red screen. I play BF3 online a lot and never faced these kind a problems with my previous card gtx 9800 gtx +. And just a moment ago I still got hanged while playing BF 3 online and was able to see the notifications saying something about gtx 660 ti display drivers, but wasn't able read it fully, how I can I check what was that error. I am on win 7 pro x 64
I have Dual Xeon E5620 MOBO S5520sc Kindston 12 gb ECC Intel Workstation Chasis 5650
I have a very annoying problem. If the CPU utilization is high on my laptop, windows 7 goes into hibernate. This happens, for example, if I run a virus program or run some applications that use too much CPU.Right after it wakes up from hibernate, again it goes into hibernate. This repeats again and again.
Okay, This issue has followed me through numerous windows 7 installs.
What happens is that I play certain games (so far only Borderlands and Mass Effect 2 set it off) for anywhere between an hour and two hours. Out of nowhere I start to get lag when I move my mouse. My sound crackles every time I move my mouse and playing the game becomes impossible. It is not an issue of overheating because I play many other games and monitor my temperatures and these games are nothing special in terms of heat. Also - I know it is my mouse causing the lag because I can look at complex things and strafe back and forth (obviously requiring things to be redrawn) and I receive ZERO LAG. But if I move my mouse in a tiny circle it causes massive lag.
If I exit the game once this has occurred it will continue to act this way until I restart my computer. If I open task manager and sort by processes it shows 30-40% utilization when moving my mouse but no processes are to blame. If I look at my cores in task manager my first core gets almost maxed every time I move my mouse. If I stop moving my mouse (or scrolling) it immediately drops back down to 0% and will shoot back up the second I move the mouse again.
I ran Process Explorer and it appears "DPCs" or Deferred Procedure Calls are to blame as they appear on the list and match the CPU usage EXACTLY. It is obviously a specific driver that is causing this overload and there are guides I've tried to follow online to dump the contents of my DPC to see which specific drivers are eating resources but I can't seem to get any of them to work with windows 7 x64. I would use DPC latency viewer and try disabling my USB because my mouse is USB to see if it fixes the issue but I would have no way of re-enabling it at that point.
and yes I've used DPC Latency viewer and it maxes out every time I move the mouse and claims a driver is responsible but this is not a program that can tell me WHICH driver.
I really need help to capture the contents of my DPC.
windows 7 intel core i7 860 asus p7p55d-e 2x 1 tb hd 8gb of ram radeon 7950 vga card
so it started about a month ago, i would be playing eve online or minecraft.. and all of a sudden.. i would get a blue screen of death OR a computer lock up.. bac then i had 2x radeon 5770 cards... i replaced that with a radeon 7950 (amazing card btw) computer still keeps locking up, so i run memtest to see if its the ram, it passed, . so i turn off the pc. the next day... i get a startup failure in win7, i tried to repair it many times but it wouldnt.. so i took out my SSD hard drive and bought a traditional spin hard drive.. so far..only 1 blue screen .. something to do with ATi.. so i stopped running catalyst control center (i like to keep an eye out for my vid card temp) as well as speedfan (just in case) doesnt run anymore... so now my computer doesnt randomly freeze... ever.. HOWEVER.. when my computer is under heavy load (i run 8 clients of a game called EVE Online).. it will freeze.. no mouse movement.. nothing...total freeze.. this also happens when i load up the universe map in eve online (i guess that only goes to people who play eve)otherwise.. computer now runs stable if i avoid those 2 things and 1 more thing to add.. i obviously had to reinstall windows 7 on my new hd so it is a fresh install?
After I restart either of my Dell laptops which both run MobileMe (Apples' email/calendar sync tool used with iphones/pads) I notice a huge slowdown in performance and applesyncnotifier.exe is usually consuming 50% of my dual core processor (I assume this is the max it can grab).I've seen all kinds of posts on how to remedy (kill the applesync process, place an eventlog trigger to kill process etc etc) but nothing that's actually resolved the problem. Oddly killing the process seems to have no effect on the software, which seems to run/sync ok regardless.Apple stated a few times to change the sync period from 'automatic' to daily or some other timeframe, but this doesnt seem to solve things, just mitigate a little. It's a real pain having to kill this PID - of course it may well be ropey software, but I've upgraded MobileMe a couple of times and no change. Also I'd expect the problem to occur a lot more often out there than it seems to.
Its almost as if the entire system waits on the disk IO to complete before doing anything else. In fact those of you older folks would remember that using floppies on windows XP caused this exact same issue. I would have thought that a modern computer should not be running into this kind of issue.
Windows 7 64bit Home Edition Dell Studio 1558 i3 330m CPU w/ integrated graphics 4 gigs of RAM 7200 rpm harddrive Using a power cord Average temp of CPU during the pauses is 45 C
Whenever I'm multitasking or doing something simple as scrolling over a compacted windows to see multiple, mini windows pop up down on the task bar, the screen freezes for a moment then comes back to how it was. Is there any way to fix this?
I think it's caused by some factor that limits the CPU power usage, but I'm not good with computers so it's not the best assumption, and I don't even know how to change it.
I have a Dell Studio 1558 that runs Windows 7 Premium. I also have an ATI Mobility Radeon HD video card, a Core i5 processor, and 6GB of memory. I play World of Warcraft and the game runs for about 15 minutes quickly and then slows to a crawl each time. Is there something wrong with the system or something I can do to fix it? I can provide more system info if needed.
The autostart function is not working properly. When introduced a CD Rom into the drive, it has all the autostart functions for movies, pics, documents, but instead of starting the games directly, It allways ask me to open the file, movies or pics, but the game never starts automatically as It used to do in the past Windows versions, and in Windows 7 BEFORE SP1. It's imposible to play games that require the insertion of the disc into the CD Rom Drive, for the same reason.Im running Windows 7 Ultimate x64 and have a LG Super Multi RwDVD +R DL Light scribe multirecorder.
ok so i have a problem thats been driving me insane. my toshiba F50 was working totally fine until suddenly during games my GPU started overheating quickly during games (Was not doing this before) i noticed that my fan didnt seem to be spinning as fast as before. i cleaned it still no avail, tried riva tuner and ntune and all of that jazz and all of them have the fan control options greyed out? (cannot use them)i noticed that when i start the laptop the POST test on the fans guns the fan to 100% speed so i know its capable of doing it. it seems like the fan doesnt know to speed up when it gets hot and it keeps shutting my system down and i reallllly dont feel like damaging my GPU. i tried rolling back my drivers and running the latest drivers.
When I click on games in my start menu only the games on my c drive show. I ran out of space on the c drive practically the day I bought it (SSD), so now I install games to my D drive. I tried dragging the .exe start file over to the games window and it did copy the icon over but I get a message that the game has stopped working when I click it, followed by automatic error reporting to Microsoft after.
Windows 7 won't allow me to retrieve my saved games from my " documents/my games/oblivion" Says it cant find the codec. What codec is that? Did search on codec and it appears I don't have any.
Does anybody have any idea of games that will run, or a program which will tell me! Preferably a multi-player game? I have windows 7. An i3 processor And sadly a rubbish Intel (R) HD Graphics.
I have 2 computers on the same network (connected to the same router). Now the problem is when one PC hosts a game, the other PC can't see it (and vice a versa). I have tried this with several games (both PCs using each game with same version) and still both PCs can't see each other.
On the other hand, under My Computer-Network, both PCs can see each other and access any shared files between the 2.
im currently having a problem installing my PC games on Windows 7 ultimate 64bit Everytime i click on the Install the splash Scrren Appears then it says loading installation then after that Nothing ? The Game is Battlefield 2142 Deluxe edition
I have a very new system in terms of hardware (6950 graphics, Core i5 processor, 8GB DDR3 RAM, etc), yet I get consistent stuttering in games. By stutter, I mean a 3-5 second freeze, that happens every few minutes. These only started up about 2 months ago (have had the computer for about 8 months).
The odd thing though, is that when I leave the computer on for a long time, and have run a number of programs/games already, the stuttering disappears. It only really shows up after I freshly restart the computer. When I put the computer to sleep (even for many many hours) instead of shutting it down, I don't have the stuttering when I bring it back awake, like I would if I had shut it down/ started it up.
I have a new HP Compaq DC 5700 64 bit computer that has Windows 7 as the OS, 1.86 GHz Intel Core 2 processor and 3 GB RAM. I can play Chess Titans, but all the other installed games hang when I try to play. I get a message (see attached screenshot).
I bought a new system (Windows 7 ultimate 64-bit OS, 1.86 GHz Intel Core 2 processor and 3 GB RAM). However, when I try to play the Microsoft games that came with it, the only game that runs properly is Chess Titans. When I go to START and click on the Solitaire, Mahjong, Hearts, Minesweeper or any game other than Chess Titans, the game looks like it's starting, the freezes and I get the message "Executable for (game name) has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly."I tried stopping the processes for the games in the program panel and re-starting them, re-booting after each procedure and also running an sfc /scannow. Nothing works
I'm playing,Then my screen Goes blank, I Hear my Fan go Full speed, Then My computer reboots, But It's stuck at "Starting Windows". I decide that a system restore is my only option, So I go with that Right, So my Brand-Spanking New Copy Of Halo 2 Arrives. Boy am I excited, I suspect that after MS Shut down Original XBL, The PC Community will recive a much needed Boost. I don't activate my copy yet, I just want to play some campaign First. I load up the armory, And just as you get out of the tram-thing with johnson, I hear Lots of Sound Glitches, And the same thing as before. It does it a few more times. Then I played some DiRT 2 about 20 minute's ago, It it does the same thing. Now, I suspect It's only Games For Windows LIVE (GFWL) Games doing it, But then I remember that CoD4 did it. Now I'm afraid that if I play anymore games, And do this too much, That I will Seriously Screw My computer.
im having this problem where some games i started appear at the Task Manager for around 10 seconds, and closes itself without any error message. The programs ran perfectly fine before on this PC. This is the error log for one of the program: [code]
Before the flaming begins, yes I'm a mac owner. For reasons which I won't get into mac was just a better choice for me, and I recently purchased a new mac book pro (I was always a pc guy before that). Well I don't know much about mac's and i'm still on the learning curve but that doesn't concern you guys much so here's my question:
I'm looking to get either windows xp or windows 7 to run through bootcamp so I can play games (yes we all know pc's are better for running games, but for now let that fact be irrelevant.) I'm looking to play games such as Left 4 Dead, Left 4 Dead 2, Starcraft 2, and Diablo 3, as well as a few of my favorite oldies. So should I get XP to run these or when these games come out will they only be compatible with Windows 7?
Also I'm already running bootcamp so if I have to run emulation software to run these games through windows 7 I don't know if it will work? And if you guys do suggest windows 7 should I go with basic or premium? (do i need the xp emulation software or can I just save that $100). As I said i'm looking to play older games that were made for XP when it first came out, as well as games that have yet to come out and probably won't till sometime in 2010 (hopefully). Thanks for your help!
I'm having incredible frustration with my pc. It LAGS during most games, including the following,
[code]...
So why on earth would these games lag??? IT's DRIVING ME INSANE! I can't play them without a lag and my system specs are above the "REQUIRED" system requirements to run the games.
1. There are no additional process's running in my process's that are chewing up my memory and slowing my pc down.
2. PhYsix is set to auto so it selects the best CPU for physix controlled games. And I've also tried both.
3. My games are run in the LOWEST possible game and graphic specs to try make it less laggy, to no avail.
4. 3d is "disabled". So it can't be slow.
5. I do not have any virus's, and all my display drivers are correctly installed and up to date.
Wanted to install it on OLD PC 1.6Ghz 1GB RAM 256MB VRAM Running XP.It happens that my daughteris having her summer vacation already, and she wanted me to install an RPG game in that OLD PC, what can u recommend?
