When introduced a CD Rom into the drive, it has all the autostart functions for movies, pics, documents, but instead of starting the games directly, It allways ask me to open the file, movies or pics, but the game never starts automatically as It used to do in the past Windows versions, and in Windows 7 BEFORE SP1. It's imposible to play games that require the insertion of the disc into the CD Rom Drive, for the same reason.Im running Windows 7 Ultimate x64 and have a LG Super Multi RwDVD +R DL Light scribe multirecorder.
View 1 Replies View Relatedok so i have a problem thats been driving me insane. my toshiba F50 was working totally fine until suddenly during games my GPU started overheating quickly during games (Was not doing this before) i noticed that my fan didnt seem to be spinning as fast as before. i cleaned it still no avail, tried riva tuner and ntune and all of that jazz and all of them have the fan control options greyed out? (cannot use them)i noticed that when i start the laptop the POST test on the fans guns the fan to 100% speed so i know its capable of doing it. it seems like the fan doesnt know to speed up when it gets hot and it keeps shutting my system down and i reallllly dont feel like damaging my GPU. i tried rolling back my drivers and running the latest drivers.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have 2 computers on the same network (connected to the same router). Now the problem is when one PC hosts a game, the other PC can't see it (and vice a versa). I have tried this with several games (both PCs using each game with same version) and still both PCs can't see each other.
On the other hand, under My Computer-Network, both PCs can see each other and access any shared files between the 2.
PS: Both PCs are running Windows 7 Ultimate x86
Each time i launch a game, a few minutes later my PC goes BSOD. I d really love to know why as i have updated every drivers.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a very new system in terms of hardware (6950 graphics, Core i5 processor, 8GB DDR3 RAM, etc), yet I get consistent stuttering in games. By stutter, I mean a 3-5 second freeze, that happens every few minutes. These only started up about 2 months ago (have had the computer for about 8 months).
The odd thing though, is that when I leave the computer on for a long time, and have run a number of programs/games already, the stuttering disappears. It only really shows up after I freshly restart the computer. When I put the computer to sleep (even for many many hours) instead of shutting it down, I don't have the stuttering when I bring it back awake, like I would if I had shut it down/ started it up.
I have a new HP Compaq DC 5700 64 bit computer that has Windows 7 as the OS, 1.86 GHz Intel Core 2 processor and 3 GB RAM. I can play Chess Titans, but all the other installed games hang when I try to play. I get a message (see attached screenshot).

I decide that a system restore is my only option, So I go with that Right, So my Brand-Spanking New Copy Of Halo 2 Arrives. Boy am I excited, I suspect that after MS Shut down Original XBL, The PC Community will recive a much needed Boost. I don't activate my copy yet, I just want to play some campaign First. I load up the armory, And just as you get out of the tram-thing with johnson, I hear Lots of Sound Glitches, And the same thing as before. It does it a few more times. Then I played some DiRT 2 about 20 minute's ago, It it does the same thing.Now, I suspect It's only Games For Windows LIVE (GFWL) Games doing it, But then I remember that CoD4 did it. Now I'm afraid that if I play anymore games, And do this too much, That I will Seriously Screw My computer.

For reasons which I won't get into mac was just a better choice for me, and I recently purchased a new mac book pro (I was always a pc guy before that). Well I don't know much about mac's and i'm still on the learning curve but that doesn't concern you guys much so here's my question:
I'm looking to get either windows xp or windows 7 to run through bootcamp so I can play games (yes we all know pc's are better for running games, but for now let that fact be irrelevant.) I'm looking to play games such as Left 4 Dead, Left 4 Dead 2, Starcraft 2, and Diablo 3, as well as a few of my favorite oldies. So should I get XP to run these or when these games come out will they only be compatible with Windows 7?
Also I'm already running bootcamp so if I have to run emulation software to run these games through windows 7 I don't know if it will work? And if you guys do suggest windows 7 should I go with basic or premium? (do i need the xp emulation software or can I just save that $100). As I said i'm looking to play older games that were made for XP when it first came out, as well as games that have yet to come out and probably won't till sometime in 2010 (hopefully). I'm having incredible frustration with my pc. It LAGS during most games, including the following,

So why on earth would these games lag??? IT's DRIVING ME INSANE! I can't play them without a lag and my system specs are above the "REQUIRED" system requirements to run the games.
1. There are no additional process's running in my process's that are chewing up my memory and slowing my pc down.
2. PhYsix is set to auto so it selects the best CPU for physix controlled games. And I've also tried both.
3. My games are run in the LOWEST possible game and graphic specs to try make it
less laggy, to no avail.
4. 3d is "disabled". So it can't be slow.
5. I do not have any virus's, and all my display drivers are correctly installed and up to date.
I have Windows 7 for about a year now and I really didn't have any problems up until a few months ago. My mouse pointer would start refreshing/flickering every 5 minutes or so and it would slow down anything I was watching or playing at the time. It doesn't really bother me when I watch movies because I can just shake the mouse and it would stop but when I play games I can't do anything about it and so I can't really play any games. I asked my repair man, he also has Windows 7 but he didn't know how to fix it.

View 9 Replies View RelatedAlright, so it's not a problem i'm having.I find my currently RAM very slow in games and such, so I i'm reding my brothers RAM, and installed them, and all the games went quite smooth.I'm having the P5Q Pro Motherboard which doesn't support DDR3, but DDR2. As you probably know, DDR2 is REALLY expensive because it's outdated (Really, you won't believe the prices), so it's actually cheaper to buy a new Motherboard, and then get the DDR3.So i've been looking at this motherboard (GIGABYTE - Motherboard - Socket 775 - GA-P41T-D3P (rev.1.3)), it looks quite nice, and it has my Intel Quad Q9550 supported, and supporting DDR3.But my brother is unsure that it will run the newest technology of DDR3 like these (Vengeance - 2 x 4 GB sticks DDR3).So will they run on the Gigabyte motherboard, and how is the Gigabyte motherboard, or just the label Gigabyte after all? Can I trust them? How are there products? Or most importantly, can I run Corsair 2 x 4 GB DDR3 Vengeance RAM.

I play more FPS games than any others, so here are a few must-haves:Must have a tilting scroll wheel that is easy to get to: I use this to strafe in FPS games. Must have at least 10 buttons: used for almost everything except moving forwards and backwards, I have a keyboard on the floor for that. Must be a decent size (palm-grip style mouse): I need to still be able to hold the mouse while I use all the buttons. Must have profiles: many games don't allow me to use certain keys, and I'm getting tired of changing the mouse button functions every time. Preferably wireless: I'm so used to wireless now that having a fixed cable just seems weird, and I prefer the heavier mice, which tend to be the wireless ones anyway... Price: no more than R1000 (approx $125 USD), but hopefully closer to the R700/R800 mark ($90/$100).
It's a bit difficult to find a list of mice with tilting scroll wheels.. I know virtually all of Logitech's mice have, while none of Razer's mice do, but there may be others that I don't even know about. Currently I'm looking at getting one of these two:Logitech G700 (13 buttons, hyper-scroll wheel) Roccat Kone+ (12 buttons, 22 functions with Shift+ key)

Because my new ASUS laptop that has windows7 64-bit can't run old classic games like age of empires, but my older computer that has windows7 32-bit can run them without a problem.
