I purchased a SBT-SP6C which is on Microsoft's Windows 7 acceptable hardware list. I've installed it and downloaded the Windows 7 drivers fromthe Sabrent website. The device shows up in my system, but I get no sound. I know my speakers work because I hooked them up to an external source. I can hear some feedback when I unplug the jack.
I brought two brand new Sabrent 6 Channel 5.1 Sound 3D PCI Sound Cards. Installed both on two exact systems except one is running windows XP and the other is running Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit.
No problems installing card and driver in the XP machine, but the window 7 doesn't even pick up that's it's there. I tried to installed the driver hoping maybe this will cause windows to see the card but the installation starts and after a few seconds comes up with and error message that says "Do not support this platform 0" this is coming from the CD that came with the card.
I tried downloading and installing the driver from Sabrent, and C-Media and with each installation attempt same error message.
my PC is not giving me any sound either its headphone, internal speaker ,external speakers but my drivers are good it says in device manager "device is working properly"
i have a sound blaster x-fi extreme fidelity gramers sound card on the software that it gave me there is s speaker test the sound works windows media player or games no sound ??
I cleaned the dust from the comp & since then I am getting this error, sound is only working on front 2 speakers. i ensured the card is properly installed, which it is. Last 4 months its been working fine with 4.1 speakers.
Now I cant start the EAX control setting.
I uninstalled the card & drivers & cleaned the registry then reinstalled the drivers from CD.
On installation of the drivers & sound it detects by old speakers as stereo only but all 4 speakers give sound which is too bad, I can now use the EAX control settings .
then I run the windows update it download a creative driver which when installed does show me 4.1 speakers but now the EAX control panel wont open & gives error.
"the audio device supported by this application is not detected. The application will exit"
any clue what went wrong & how can I get this working?
I have a Sabrent TV-USB20 and running Windows 7 Ultimate x64bit on my PCinstalled the driver for my platform on Sabrent USAall 3 options, tried one after another, I installed them on my computer, but still after this, the computer does not recognize the device.I go to install manually through Add Hardware or device manager and Windows says that the driver is not compatible with windows 7 64bit (even when I'm installing driver for Windows 7).
Interaction (interface?) between a Sabrent USB 2.0 to SATA/IDE Hard Drive Adapter Product Code: USB-DSC5 and my Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit?When connected to IDE Drives Maxtor and Western Digital, and through the usage of Windows 7 it tellls me that the Hard Drive "is not ready". Is that a message originated by the Windows 7 software? If so how do I go about "getting the disk ready" so i could change disk type or number or sizes of each partition and/or reformat?unexpected report from the Windows 7 interaction with this adapter and the Hard Drives it holds, 40 GB and 80 GB IDE drives Maxtor and Western Digital. I am trying to use Windows (or some other third party software) to resize the partitions, change the disk type and eventually reformat.
I remember seeing a while ago that nvidia were doing some schme where you trade in your old gpu and you get money off a new gpu but i recently went on the nvidia site and could not find the option for this have they stoped doing this for the uk or something?
My Windows 7 system has begun to post some errors which I don't know how to correct: "Cannot load microsoft.net/framework/v4.030319/mscoreei.dll" and Service Pak 1 for Windows 7 installation failed.
when it goes to log in, a profile unable to login service error comes up. Is it have to do with the F drive? Is there something other than just the Drive letter, that windows looks for when searching for the users folder to login? Like HDD id/serials or something like that?

My computer just shut itself down on its own last night.Upon restart all I get is an HP screen that says hit esc. to go to startup menu, and it takes me to a screen with like 5 different options. If you don't hit esc at the beginning it goes to a black screen with a white line looks like a cursor line.
I had great success with this forum (and Elmer in particular) in diagnosing and helping to fix the problem with my desktop. I'm now going for the double whammy and hoping for similar help with my laptop. It's an Acer Aspire 5536G. I've had it for about 2 years or so, and it was fine for the first 8-10 months, but then started displaying some very choppy performance. Basically it runs fine for about 15 seconds, then get very slow and choppy for the next 15-20 seconds. THen it's fine again for 15 seconds... and so on. It came with Vista pre-installed, which I upgraded to Windows 7 (32-bit) a couple of months ago hoping to resolve the problem. It has made no difference. I also had a HD problem with it (it corrupted and failed to boot). I was told by several different people that a faulty HD could be the cause of the choppiness. I've now replaced the HD with a spanking new one, reinstalled everything, and I've got the same issue. It happens principally whilst gaming, and sometimes while watching video. For a while I thoguht it was an overheating issue, but I bought a cooling base with a fan in it which certainly cools the laptop right down to touch (I assume it's much cooler inside too), but makes no difference to its performance.
I am hoping someone can help. I have 2 machines both running windows 7 64-bit with XP mode installed. On one, I have successfully loaded and run my program perfectly without a single hiccup but with the other it installs fine but will not open. All I get is a fatal errorE. The same install disc was used for both machines and I have checked to verify that all files are there.
i'm trying to give my pc boot music (i have had this in an advanced theme before)does anybody know how this can be done?E.G. what file extension, what maximum size this file can be,where this file should be located, or if this is even possible in the first place, but if anyone responds,
I have a emachine e725 running windows 7 32bit and a acer running on windows vista. My emachine recently crashed in the blue screen and I tried to complete a system restore. I was able to get through the advanced boot menu and use the repair your computer option to restore windows. During the windows setup process I got another blue screen and the computer restarting. It then started the process over and once it got to the step that says windows is preparing setup, it gives an error msg saying something along the lines of windows was interupted and needs to restart to complete installation, and it has an option to press ok. This cycle continues and I can not open in safe mode because it says "windows can not complete the installation in safemode. Also the option to repair your computer in the advanced menu options is no longer available. So after wrestling with windows starting up I decided to create a back up and restore disc on my acer for my windows 7 computer. I tried putting it on a disc but it would not boot. So I tried creating a installation disc of windows 7 and tried booting from the cdrom drive. Once I did that I got a error msg saying "device driver not found: MSCD001 No valid cdrom device drivers selected. It then gives me the A:>. Im not sure if I created the disc wrong since I cant unzip the entire file I downloaded with needing an encryption password.

I Installed CrossFire Having played it before i upgraded, and it gave me a blue screen. I though " oh i did something wrong " So i unistalled and reinstalled, you know, the stuff you usually do.
Anyway, i've been reading around the forum and i've found other people are having this problem too, " Getting the bluescreen " Now i was wondering if their any fixes that could make the game work, Any help would be useful and much appreciated!
The main reason I joined is because my windows 7 has a serious clicking problem. I drew the line when I tried to open "advanced network sharing settings" from the control panel. I clicked and clicked but it wouldn't open. This same problem occurs with lots of other functions with the control panel and the OS in general. I am an administrator and I can assure you it is NOT a hardware problem.
I am running on Windows 7 64bit home premium. My computer has been really weird lately. I have tried recovering my computer to an earlier time but it constantly failed. Explorer.exe will fail on me, and I have tried the src thing using run but it will open and immediately close on me. I didn't have a recovery disk so I just recently bought one. I "think" I made the recovery disk correctly. When I put the cd in, I got an error that the file winload.exe with the error code 0xc0000001 saying the file may be missing or may be corrupt.
When a user in the domain tries to login, the error is "You cannot log on because the logon method you are using is not allowed on this computer". Many users would not have saved their work. Is there any possible way to make the user login without changing the group policy.
The cable is only giving me a resolution of 1680x1050 and it is ghosting they are also only giving off a generic monitor rather then recognizing the model of the monitor. The standard VGA cables you receive when you buy work fine. Doing research I've read that the longer the cable the lower the quality? The graphic cards are lower end AMD cards but are new. All drivers on graphic cards and monitors have been updated to the latest yet it hasn't had any effect.
I have a HTPC which includes an ASUS mobo/cpu combo (fanless, smart BIOS, etc). The case is mini ITX with a single case fan. As it is this machine runs really cool since I have no moving parts other than the storage HDD (OS is on SDD).What I ended up doing was move the case fan power plug to the "Chassis1" fan header on the mobo because the BIOS offers more tunability controls for chassis fans than it does the "CPU" fan header.Problem is now, I get popup alerts in my sys tray from the BIOS manager that CPU FAN IS DISABLED or NOT OPERATING.Is there a way I can jumper this power header out with a resistor or something to fake the mobo into thinking it's driving a fan?
I am new to Windows 7, and am unable as yet to get my documents to print from any program. I have installed multiple printers (different manufacturers) in an attempt to find something compatible, but I believe my problem to be tied to the network. I am running Windows 7 64 bit, with Office 2007. I have installed a Xerox Phaser 6360 DN printer via the network at work. The printer is connected, as I can open the properties and see that the yellow toner is low. Newest/compatible driver from Xerox website is installed; yet whenever I send a document (or test page) to the printer, in the status window after a few minutes the status changes from "Printing" to "Error - Printing".
