WinFast ATA66 PATA PCI controller with popular CMD648 chip. Win7, both x64 & x86 recognize the controller properly. The controller is connected with optical drive working normally in UDMA-2 mode. Unfortunately, the transfer is possible in PIO-4 mode only. How to set the higher modes of data transfer? The drivers for Win7 aren't available on the manufacturer's www page.

After adding the PATA HDD on the IDE slot & start up, it appears in BIOS, but after start up read/write operations on the PATA HDD is not possible. How do I correct this in WinXP OS, since it does not even register, but in Win 7, it Shows up in BIOS & in My Computer window, but read/cut/write operations on the PATA HDD is not possible. However it can copy data from PATA HDD.??

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've already ordered a new drive to replace my Samsung PATA, because the last time that I tried to use it, it made a peculiar buzzing noise for several seconds as it spun up, and when I removed the disc, I found two circular scratches very near the hub. The only thing that I can think of that would cause these would be the lens coming into contact with the disc, which I doubt that there is anything that can be done about .However, since I'm one of those people that finds it difficult to just toss things into the dumpster, I'm wondering if there is any practical means to remedy it's ills? Even if there was, I would only keep it as a spare, because I dislike it's performance compared to a SATA.

I installed the seven rtm 32b and I met problems with this card.
Windows 7 freezes with a black screen during channel scan. All is locked, no mouse, and keyboard led doesn't work respond (capslock, numlock...)
Same behaviour under mce and winfast (leadtek tv app). Win start scanning, and after 10 seconds, screen goes black and hdd led stopped and I must reset the pc.
I tried the 5.13.22.6115 whql driver (vista 32b) without success. I also tried to find a generic conexant cx2388x driver for seven, but I don't.
I have an old (analog only) Winfast TV2000 XP Expert TV card installed on my computer. I am able to watch and hear TV but when I try to record something (Ctrl-R) I get the video but I don't get any audio in the resulting video file.
My system is as follows:
Windows 7 Ultimate
In "Device Manager" under "Sound, video and game controllers" I show only these 2 items:
Realtek High Definition Audio
Driver version: 6.0.1.5936
Driver date: 11/9/2009
Winfast TV2000 XP Expert

To recap; The audio works when viewing in TV mode but does not record the audio in Record mode in the saved file.
Does anyone know what I can do so it will record sound along with the video?

Windows 7 boots everytime (after i manually select it) when the PATA is connected. Once i remove the PATA, change the boot order from it to the SSD - NTLDR Missing. I want to remove the PATA drive from my system but it wont load the 7 without the XP

I've just installed Windows 7 RC build 7100 onto my system. As always like with Vista installations in the past, I run into this problem. I have a DFI Lanparty NF4 Ultra-D motherboard and for some reason my RAID drive doesn't show up. I can see the two HDs I have set up as a raid appear and separate individual drives under My Computer but can't access them unless I format them which is something I dont want to do. I checked under Device Manager and under Stoare Controllers, NVIDIA nForce RAID Controller is installed...but I think I'm missing the proper RAID tool? I'm not too sure about this.
My Device Manager lists everything as installed, but each time I restart my computer and boot up, the computer is trying to install some drives but "Failed." The prompt says, "Standard Dual Channel PCI IDE Controller" x3, and all 3 Failed to install. I have no idea if this is the actual problem because I'm trying to get my RAID Stripe to work and they are both on SATA connections and not IDE...I have tried a few sets of nForce packs such as Fernandos_XP_64bit_nForce4-5_non-AHCI_WHQL_PACK_v5.4 but no avail.

The new OS is not picking up one of my WD 1Tb HDD. It shows in the bios, and it shows in the device manager but nowhere else. I think that this may have something to do with the fact that there is no PCI simple communications controller installed, and I cannot find that anywhere.

Also, is there a simple way transferring all the user's data and programme data if I wanted to upgrade to a newer build, as obviously backing up the disc image won't work I suppose with a newer build of 7?
