'Limited Acces' Home Wireless Connection

I have a Linksys WRT120N wireless router connected to a modem, and a desktop connected to the router (not wireless) and i have my laptop who sometimes have this "limited access" problem.It is pretty annoying, happens once a day and i just unplug and replug the wireless router for it to fonction again but i want to fix this problem definitively im not sure what is causing this problem,however when i ran the windows diagnostic thingy,i get 2 problems :"wireless network connection" doesn't have a valid ip configuration and the default gateway is not available.

After installing the 'Panda 2011' antivirus, it's impossible to connect to any wireless connection. It always says 'limited access', even though the signal is at full strength.
The antivirus had been fully removed, but the problem persisted, so I even removed any trace left of it in the registry. I even installed the latest NIC driver just to be sure, but it still isn't working.
There are a lot of topics on here with the same 'limited access' problem, but none of them helped.

I installed a new wireless adapter yesterday in the hope of increasing my internet speed. After installing the driver for the adapter I realised that my internet was no longer working. I can still see the connection but it is limited and doesnt allow me to connect to the internet. I also had a system up date the night before and hadn't been on the internet since that happened so am unsure if this has any part in it.I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers for both the adapters i have to no avail, as well as plugging my pc into a laptop and using internet connection sharing which also doesnt work.If i run a network repair i end up with two problems found:
1)There might be a problem with the driver for the local area connection adapter
2)There might be a problem with the driver for the wireless network connection adapter They both have yellow signs with exclamation marks next to them.If i type ipconfig/all into the cmd line I get:

A few hours ago I installed a Windows update, so my ACER Aspire 5733 restarted. I shut it down after the restart, not paying attention to the wireless. When I went to turn it back on, I couldn't get online because my home wireless connection has "Limited access."The icon signifying signal strength on the taskbar has a small yellow star-shaped dot on it. When I click on it, it pops up and says "Not connected. Connections are available. It then says my wireless network name and says "Limited access" next to it. The signal strength is excellent.When I disconnect and then reconnect it says the connection was unsuccessful because the computer has limited connectivity.The same network is working on my other laptop and on my iPod, but not on my Aspire 5733.

I have found a wireless connection near me and connected to it. I saw that my speed is kind of good (about 14 Mb/s), I tried to get this speed higher.I went into the router setup from my browser, and changed some settings from thereOnce changed, I reboot the router to see if it changed my speed.The one setting that blocked my access to internet is MCS. I don't remember if that was off/disabled, but i changed it to MCS7, the last option available for MCS... thing.

I am setting up a new Acer laptop and cannot access the internet via my home wifi network. I have 2 other laptops connected to the network and running fine. The new pc is running 64 bit Windows 7 (the others run XP) and has an Atheros AR5B93 Wireless Network Adapter. When I pan over the wireless icon in my taskbar, it says "Limited access" beside my home wifi signal.

I have a 3 PC router based workgroup network. 2 PCs are XP SP 3, one PC is Windows 7 When all PCs are wired, everything works just fine. All PCs (W7 and XP) can see and share files with all other PCs (It took a bit of doing but I got there eventually)If I try to connect the W7 PC wirelessly,
* the W7 PC cannot access/share files on the XP machines
* the XP machines can see and share files on the W7 PC
* The W7 PC can access the router and can ping the other PCs
There is no firewall in operation on the XP machine What do I need to do to get the W7 machine to access/share files on the XP machine via wireless connection?

If you have time to help me solve this problem I would really appreciate it. First off, I have a Samsung NP350V4C notebook with an Atheros AR9485WB-EG Wireless Network Adapter (currently up-to-date), the system I'm running on is a Windows 7 Ultimate x64, and my router is a TP-Link WR-740n. As of now,
I can connect to our router and internet nicely, but this is only possible because I just restarted our router. And probably (100% sure of it), if I restart, reboot, sleep my notebook, or simply press the disconnect button on my wireless connection list, I would have difficulty connecting again. By difficulty I mean, my notebook would continuously try to identify the network, and in between identifications says "no internet access" with a yellow triangle with an exclamation point on it.
So, again I have to restart the router just so I could connect my notebook to get wireless connection. Troubleshooting the network (by clicking on the red "X" mark on the network map between the home network and internet) doesn't help either. I also tried the ipconfig /release and /renew... does not help either, it just says media disconnected and such. One thing that amazes me that my notebook can connect to home wireless network flawlessly

I have recently been having difficulties with connecting with my wireless connection. We have a in-home router that is connected to two computer's downstairs by cable. I however own a Acer, Windows 7 laptop that I mainly use upstairs and I get a Excellent signal strength.I have connected to my Home wireless connection before with no problem but recently the connection keeps coming up as ~Identifying... No Internet Access.Also when I have had connection to this network prior to this problem the connection is under Home. But when I try to connect to the same network it comes up as Public or just keeps Identifying. I have the connection set to Connect Automatically.Also the yellow triangle with the exclamation point almost always pops up immediately when I reboot my system or after I Disconnect and Connect the network again. I have tried Disabling and Enabling the network in the adapter settings and this does not work either. In the manage wireless networks tab, I have repeatedly deleted the connection and reentered the security password and again put it as automatically connect but it still comes up as Identifying. I have seen many people with this same problem and have tried many of the suggestions to no avail.It is rather bizarre because my connection will be in this Identifying state for a while and randomly connect properly and I have no idea what makes it go off and on so erratically. I just had it working again for a few days and it is again acting up.

I have Brother MFC7340 printer connected to my HP home premium Windows 7 64 via a USB port. There is no ethernet connection. I want my Windows XP computer, connected to the local home network via ethernet hard connection through my wireless router to be able to print either with a hard connect or wirelessly to this printer. I have had a little bit of trouble with my internet connection lately. sometimes i just get limited connection or it will just stop working. what i mean by that is it'll be working fine and then i get a little yellow exclamation mark over my wireless and it says limited access and i can't connect to the internet. i try disabling it and then re-enabling it, troubleshooting, and turning my router on and off again. i think it generally works fine when i restart my computer, but i don't want to have to be restarting all the time and having an unreliable connection. i've got a thomson tg585 v8 wireless router and under my device manager it says i have Atheros AR9285 Wireless network adapter and intel 82579V Gigabit Network connection.

I'm in need of some serious help here. Working with a Dell Inspiron 1750 laptop that's running windows 7. The machine can not get full access to the Internet. It seems as if there is a software conflict, but I can't find what it is. It did display the BSOD a couple of times, but the screen was gone before I could see what the codes were. The system restore only has 2 days of restore points, neither did anything to help.Running the diagnostics produced the following codes. 0f00:0232, 968634624, 0x490, 0x8007042c, 2000-0151.All repair options suggest patches that require an Internet connection. Well...if the computer had an Internet connection I wouldn't be in such a state. Reminds me of the car repair manual that says to start the engine to preform a test when the problem is the engine won't start.Anyway, I'm at a loss. This isn't even my machine, it belongs to the sister in-law, which means I have no idea of what she may have done, if anything, to cause the problem.There's a lot of Apple software for the ipod, or itouch, whatever it is she uses.I can't access the recent update history, so I'm not sure if updates are a factor.It sure seems like a software issue, but what do I know? If I knew what I was doing...I surely wouldn't be here seeking help.One other thing, when the machine is first booting, a window of some sort appears just after the desktop appears. It only flashes for a split second before disappearing. Not long enough to tell what it is.Well that's all I have, I sure hope that someone has an idea. The computer isn't even 2 years old, so it'd a shame to have to throw it away. As far as programs goes, it has very little, and the 500GB HD isn't even 25% filled.

Since I installed Windows 7 on my PC I have this issue. I use a WiFi USB key (D-Link DWL-G132 A3) to connect my computer to internet.
With Windows XP all were working good, but now with Windows 7 after 30/60/xxxx minutes I'm connected i get "limited access - no internet connection". Windows recognized a DNS error, but it was unable to slove it. I'm solving this problem unplugging the WiFi key for 1 minute, and then re-plugging it. Doing this, the connection returns fine for another 30/60/90/xxxx minutes.
(I'm actually trying the connection with IPv6 disabled and using only IPv4)

Yesterday I updated to v. 2.2 Of Sun Virtualbox and have lost my connection to the Internet on Windows 7. The 'VirtualBox Host - Only Network Status' reports "limited or no connectivity". This is because "the Network did not assign a Network Address to the Computer". I have not been able to solve this problem, the icon in the sys. tray has a yellow marker against it.
I have normal connectivity on Windows XP.
I cannot wind back using System Restore as there are no restore points. I do have a drive image of my C; drive dated just prior to the update, would this work?. Is there an easier way?.

I'm trying to fix my sisters laptop, which just wont connect to the Internet. I've checked everything I can find. Here's a description of the problem - When looking at the icon in the system tray that shows the connection bars, when I hover over it, it says "not connected - connections are available" . On the related pop-up window It does show my wireless connection. When trying to connect to that wireless network, it eventually says "the connection was unsuccessful - this computer has limited connectivity to "bthomehub.....".
At this point it gives an option to troubleshoot, when I select this it says - "problems found - there might be a problem with the driver for the wireless network connection adapter". If I look at the troubleshooting report from this window it says "windows couldn't automatically bind the IP protocol stack to the network adapter". In 'network and sharing centre' it shows the computer being connected to the homehub, but no connection from homehub to the Internet. Attempted to ping ebay, got this response - "ping request could not find host ebay.com please check then name and try again."
Under wireless connection status it says -
"ipv4 connectivity - no Internet access"
"ipv6 connectivity - no network access"
From looking around on the internet I have tried the following -
- netsh winsock reset catalog
- netsh int ip reset reset.log
- reinstalled drivers for wireless network connection adapter
- checked that windows has no restore points
- tried ipconfig /release at command prompt, got the error "the operation failed as no adapter is in the - - state permissible for this operation"
- tried ipconfig /renew at command prompt, got the error "the operation failed as no adapter is in the - state permissible for this operation"
I tried removing various antivirus/system protection apps...at this point I then got a yellow icon over the connection bars in the system tray, and it now says im 'connected'. but it says 'no internet access'. Its a new laptop running windows 7, it did work fine for a while and then suddenly stopped working while connected to the internet.

I'm having a problem getting my laptop connected to some wireless networks. I can connect to the wireless connections at work and home without issues, but I'm currently house sitting for my parents and unable to connect to theirs. Apparently I have 'Limited Connectivity' on an 'Unidentifed Network. DHCP works and is issuing an IP address (plus gateway and dns), but when I try to ping anything on the network I get 'destination host unreachable'. I've tried using a valid static IP and it's no different. I've tried using the Windows 7 troubleshooting tool and it's complaining that it can't connect to the gateway. I've reset and reconfigured the wireless router but that hasn't worked either. I can connect to this network fine with my phone and an old vista laptop.

I'm running 64bit Windows 7 Ultimate and the wireless device is an Engenius Senao LR Multi-Client Bridge. I have already reloaded my laptop - there is now no software installed other than Photoshop, Office and Inkscape. I have no software firewall and no anti-virus. I've tried changing the wireless mode to 802.11g, but that didn't work. Bonjour doesn't seem to be installed. I've cleared down all of the known networks as well.

A few days ago I booted up my HP Pavilion dv4-2049wm laptop. Windows update needed to reboot, due to my postponing it for a few days, so I let it reboot and I started getting blue screens. After a few restarts (getting the BSOD every time), I booted into the last known good configuration. It booted up fine, but now I can no longer connect to my network (wired and wireless). It sees my wireless connection, but states "Limited Access."
Things I have tried:
- Uninstalled/Updated network drivers from HP's site, specific to my laptop model.
- Uninstalled all windows updates that were installed before BSOD
- Flushed, registered, renewed dns via command prompt
- Reset Winsock via command prompt
- Tried a "clean" boot
- Ran Windows Check Disk
- Ran Windows Memory Tester (Unsure of exact name)
On the day of the crash I attempted to do a restore, but the earliest restore I could do was at the time of the windows update (same time as BSOD). One thing I did notice is that the "Teredo Tunneling Pseudo_Interface" listed under network adapters is no longer there. Not sure what that might have to do with anything. I ran this tool (Who Crashed/Crashdump) and here is my log:

My new Samsung laptop has just stopped allowing me access to the internet. Its not a problem with the router as I have a wired connection to a desktop that is fine. My laptop has been working ok but now I just get 'Limited Access' from the status bar. All the other checks have been made with ISP the Intel(R) Centrino(R) wireless N130 is supposed to be working according to the network properties dialogue box. Also have wired the ethernet from desktop to laptop and still the same response so narrowing it down to the possible driver software.

I recently changed my router and it worked okay not bad. But the internet connection cut off too much like once in 20 minutes and I feel like my internet is too slow. When the internet is cut off, it says limited access with yellow sign on the wireless bar.

So yesterday my internet was working fine, but today when I returned and got it out of standby, I could not connect to the internet. It says "limited access" when I try to connect to the wireless, and when I try to connect with an ethernet cable nothing happens.If I troubleshoot, Windows is unable to resolve it. I have 2 dell laptops running off the same router and have been working fine for the last 6 months. One of the laptops has all of a sudden switched to saying limited access on the proset icon. After reading threads etc. I have re booted the laptop & router, tried connected by wire with no avail. The machine is running very slow and I am wondering if this isn't the only fault. As I wanted to try re installing the wireless driver but I cannot get onto the uninstall a program window - it just doesn't load.

I have this problem with my new Asus laptop which was fine yesterday, but cannot connect to any wireless network now. When I click the Network connections button on my task bar it shows me my internet connection with the words Limited Access next to it. I've been on google for a good 2 hours and can't really find the answer. I may know what's wrong, however. Yesterday I pressed the shutdown button on my laptop and then it starts those automatic updates that happen when you shut down. It said something like "Updating 1 of 1 updates". It took a while so I put thelaptops screen down, and when I checked on it again 5 minutes later... Blue screen. my issue is though all my files, documents, start menu & icons are where they should be if i try to access them it gives me the message"Windows cannot acces the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access them."There is only my profile on the install of windows and I am the administrator, i've tried from the start menu - run - CMD with admin privileges and it gives me the same message. I've tried to Take ownership but that option isn't available in the drop down menu - it doesn't restrict me accessing any file or folder just the running of any file.In safe mode i've ran AV & AS programs including - Spybot S&D, Superantispyware, Avast, Malwarebytes AM & Microsoft security essentials - and none of them have found anything except a few cookies the first time through which it removed and changed nothing, as you would expect. I am also running Online Armour as my firewall but had turned off the program guard to install couple of programs, but not the webshield. As i mentioned above in Safe Mode i can run most programs no problem including the AV's. I also run Msconfig in safe mode to see if i could see a service or startup program i don't recognise as i've experimented with alot of them when i was running XP and there doesn't appear to be something that looks out of place.

If I run the setup of new program I recently get this error message more and more: Setup was unable to create the directory "C:usersgebrui~1AppDatalocalemp.... Error 5: Acces denied."I looked quite a while around the internet and found some people with exactly the same problem but the solutions didnt work out for me. I tried turning AUC both on and off, I tried running the file as admin (My account is admin also), I even tried to install it with my virus scanner turned off but nothing seems to work?
