Wireless Connection Stopped Working

all of a sudden my wireless connection stopped working, so i did a system restore and it started working again, then it made the updates, and it stopped working again, the system restore worked twice and then after the updates, not working again, this time more permanent, when the computer starts it tells me that the bluetooth is on, but no existence of the wlan, the driver doesn't even show up on the device manager.
Then after some time my computer became stuck it didn't respond (this due to a different issue) so I decided to force the computer to turn off, when it restarted i had a wireless conection, then I turned off the computer and when I turned it back on no internet again, then I decided to try the force turn off again, and again I had internet. also if i have the internet working and i close my computer the internet stops working as well

I am using a windows Vista 32 bit home premium notebook computer for which the wireless network detection has stopped working. I updated the driver for the built in wireless card with out any results. I also tried a plug in wireless card which windows detected and said was working properly and this did not work either. This leaves me to believe that something is wrong with the OS. I can get on the internet via dialup modem and also by the ethernet connection with a DSL modem. I have been to several hotspots that I know have wifi and no networks show up. All critical windows updates have been installed.

Whenever my wireless stopped working I would shut my computer down. I'd do a primary hard drive test. It would fix my wireless almost guaranteed. I tried it earlier today and it didn't work. Now I got this screen telling me I need the Vista CD to resolve a problem with one of the drivers. I don't have the Vista CD. My laptop came with the program not the CD. I checked with my manufacture website and I even downloaded an HP Support Assistant. It says everything is up to date.

I've been having this issue ever since I bought my new tablet pc. I am connected wirelessly to a network here at work. I've never had an issue with any other computer before until this one. I'm using a Vista 64 ultimate and this is my issue. I connect to the wireless network... I can browse the internet just fine. I have a shortcut on my desktop \192.168.1.200location Once I click on that it ask me for my user id and password so I enter and I then get to the network folder. After a few seconds it says Not Responding and I can no longer connect to the network or the internet although I can ping all internet addresses just fine. Disconnecting from the wireless and reconneting does not work... Disabling and reenabling doesn't work either. I have to shut down the pc and restart for it to come back up.

I have a Compaq Presario f730US. I run Vista 32bit. When I got the computer back the next day, I could no longer get wireless. The Wireless button on the front won't turn blue. I have tried installing the drivers. I can use the ethernet but I got a laptop so I woulldn't be on a leash.

My internet connection stopped working last night. It allows me to connect to my wireless network, but not to the internet. It keeps giving me a 169... IP address. Even if I run the comm. prompt as the admin. it wont release the IP address when I type ipconfig/release. I've tried turning off and unplugging everything from the router. I have also done a sytem restore which did nothing. My ISP doesn't know what to do and Dell wants to charge me a ton of money.

I Am running a 64x vista os and I've installed a linksys PCI adapter into it. well the problem is that i have connection to the internet, but the connection just keeps identifying, normally i would mind, but recently i've notice that all online games lags (not like once every five minutes, almost constantly). I'm sure that the computer can cut the setting, and my connection is 10/10 mbit so ain't that either.

Everything works just fine on my new Vaio laptop running on Vista home premium, connecting to my wireless network TalkTalk (the router is Echolife HG520s), until the connection stops working but still says I'M CONNECTED PERFECTLY!
I thought it was a typical firewall problem so i tried with disabling Windows firewall and the mcafee security center but nothing seems to work except disabling the network hardware and enabling again.

i've spent the whole day trying to set up a wireless connection between a laptop running vista and a printer connected to a print server on a wireless router....The printer is connected to the USB port on the wireless router (and the wireless connection to the printer works fine with my old xp laptop :rolleyes. The printer worked fine when plugged directly into the usb port on the vista laptop. So I set up a TCP/IP local port with the router's IP address (network print server, 1 printer) and assigned the printer to that port. It worked! - once. It printed a short document from notepad but sometime in the next few hours its status went to 'offline' and it has since refused to print anything else. Print jobs appear to spool to the printer, come up in the print monitor window, etc, but it doesn't print - neither tiny things from notepad nor multipage word docs.
SO far I have tried: rebooting everything lots of times; setting the printer to 'use printer online' in the admin prefs; disabling bidirectional support; disabling spooling (i.e. printing direct to printer - this just makes MS Word hang); making a persistent mapping of LPT1 to the printer w net use (a bit out of my depth there so hope I haven't stuffed anything up, i just got a bunch of system error 66's).

the internet in my house is ran of a router, every machine in my network including another laptop besides mine, a PlayStation 3, an ipod.. you get the picture, can connect too the internet except my laptop. my laptop shows that there is a internet connection and that it is connected too it as it shows me the two computer screens with the globe. i can connect to the internet for around 5-7 minutes, then it will the disconnect on my laptop only. i will not be able too browse sites, and it will tell me that i am connected local only, yet i can use applications like MSN? in order too fix this problem i need too turn my computer on and off, this will give me another 7 minutes of web browsing befor it happens again. i get this error message when i click repair on the network sign. cannont connect with microsoft.com(some ip) network diagnositcs pinged the remote host but did not recieve a response. reset the network wireless adapter "wireless connection" resetting the adapater can sometimes solve and intermittent problem reseting the network wireless connection does not help, i can get on msn still just not browse sites.

Two days ago my LogiTech USB Wireless mouse just suddenly stopped working. I was using it when playing LoL (League of Legends), and just went to restroom and when I came back, it's not working anymore. I have thought that maybe it's just the batteries, and I've change it but still not working. I convinced myself that maybe it just died. I bought today a MS Wireless Mobile Mouse 3000, to my surprise it doesn't work. I've checked all my drivers and they we're up to date.

The craziest thing happened my pci wireless antenna which worked fine 3 days ago suddenly stopped working, I start Xp and it works fine, I haven't had any problems before 3 days ago, I've completely formated the partition and re-installed vista x64 ultimate, And still doesn't work, Tried a static ip(which i didn't have to do before)|Also I work at a hotel with a wireless Access point, Then a gateway, then the modem, Does anyone have any idea whats going on? or what might've happened, The wireless properties say ip4 local and ip6 limited and media state enabled.

I have a Microsoft Wireless Multimedia Keyboard as part of a desktop package. This was working fine until Vista Update installed something and it stopped working. I have tried to roll back and un-install with no joy. I have also tried to Re-install the drivers for this also with no joy as all I get is the following error "Error 1612".

I am having the worst problems connecting using a cable connection, which I need because as I am in Europe at the moment, many sites or private homes are not equipped with wireless. Now, when I connect with cable, everything seems to be working fine, the Toshiba connectivity doctor tells me I am connected, the diagnose program assures me that the problem has been resolved etc. etc. and yet whenever I try to connect (IE, Mozilla, Google, I have tried them all), I get an error screen. I have tried everything I could think of, checking my settings etc. Nothing works.
Let me emphasize that:
1) wireless connection works fine
2) it is a problem with my computer, not the host, since I have encountered
the same problem everywhere (libraries with password protected access,
private homes without password protected access etc.).

With Vista, I can get internet for my new Dell XPS laptop over the wireless connection without doing anything other than selecting the connection. No user name or password is needed. But to plug in directly into my cable modem, it does not work. Seems to require user name and password. But I use Verizon and a Motorola SB5101 modem and while it is broadband, I did not think it is pppoe. I don't even know of any user name or password for my account. Am I wrong, is all broadband pppoe? My internet connection works just fine without asking for pppoe login info when I use my desktop with Windows XP. So, it seems to Vista specific problem.

Lately when I've tried looking at different folders and files on my hard drives I keep getting "Windows Explorer has stopped working and will restart." It's driving me nuts, I can barely do anything.
Also, same thing with Internet Explorer...I'm getting real sick of Vista's shoddiness..

By now it should be obvious that, under the Vista operating system, I have Home Premium, there is a severe overall, general "has stopped working" problem.
Thus far I've experienced:
"Internet Explorer has stopped working"
"Windows Explorer has stopped working"
"Word has stopped working"
"Sherlock Holmes Nemesis (Adventure Company) has stopped working"
"Outlook has stopped working"
"Acid 4.0 (Sony) has stopped working"
"Acid 6.0 (Sony) has stopped working"
"Sound Forge (Sony) has stopped working"
Is it not obvious by now that Vista has a problem, maybe a compatability problem, with everything from Internet Explorer and Microsoft Word to third party programs which cause programs, as I mentioned, even programs made by Microsoft, to "stop working"? Is there no an overall "stopped working" patch or something that Microsoft has released by now?...............

All of a sudden some of my programs stopped working, for example catalyst control center is supposed to start as soon as vista starts, but now it gives me an error like:
"CCC.exe has stopped working"
Same with some others...
Yes i ran AVG, i ran malware, and superantispyware, none of them finds anything.
I cant even load daemon tools now, it gives me some error: "Engine loading was failed", cant uninstall it, it gives me another error, and some of the programs like netlimiter if i start them from my objectdock dock they automaticly stop working, only when i start them from the normal .exe they dont crash.

I use Window Vista. I have no problem connecting to the internet if I use a normal cable but when I use my wireless LAN AP, my PC can detect the wireless router with no problem at all but then my PC could not connect to the Internet (the Earth). My wireless router is a IEEE 802.11 LAN. I believe this is related to some codes or something that I should enter?

Last night it was fine, turned it off and went to bed, got up thismorning and turned it on, windows can't find any networks. I click "diagnose why..." and it says that my laptop doesn't have a wireless NIC or the drivers are out of date! but nothing changed, and it's not the router it's working fine.
Hp dv 9000 17" btw there have been a few other issues for about a month, quick play
doesn't work and WMP won't play audio tracks (dvds still work, oddly enough) when that started happening I got messages at start up, they are:
Hp quickplay was stopped working cvlcap module (or somthing close to that, I forgot the first part, I know it ends in cap but it might be cvcl or something) has stopped
working and occasionally it would say the disk defraggmentor was stopped working even when I'm just browsing the internet and it's not even open.
those aren't that big a deal, but I really need my NIC working again, I'm running an Avast! virus scan right now but I don't think that it the problem.
on a side note, what do ye nerds think of Avast!? being free seems to good to be true, but I've seen store baught antivirus that is obvisously much worse (defender pro comes to mind.)

Recently when using Skype, my microphone is very scratchy when I am on wireless. I thought that it was the microphone. However, if I am on a hard wired connection, the microphone is fine. Also an external microphone works fine even when I am on the same wireless connection. I am in China, need to talk with family. I have a Toshiba Satellite laptop. My wife has the same computer and hers works fine on wireless. So I don’t feel that it is the wireless connection.

My wireless is not turning on so that I can connect to my home wireless network. The wireless is set to "on" on the switch on my computer. When I reset my computer, the light turns on as if the wireless is working. As vista starts up, the light and wireless connection remain active, but as soon as vista is done starting up, the light indicating my wireless radio is on turns off and I can't connect to any wireless
network.
Does this make sense? other computers in the house are connecting fine to the wireless but my computer is dropping it before i can even connect.

My son's got a Vista laptop running off a wireless Linksys router. It's been running great for almost 2 years but for some reason his wireless connection recently went from `secured' to `unsecured'. Have no idea what caused this change. Nothing was done to the router. Can anyone tell me how to re-secure his current wireless connection? I cannot connect to my wireless network after reintsalling Vista on my notebook. I hvae an HP dv6139us notebook. I can see the newtork and I can try to connect but everytime I try to, it does not connect for an unknown reason. I have a secure network and i put the correct passphrase in as all my other computers connect with no problems. I have also dover a little deeper into this and when you look and the nwetwork and sharing center and click view full map, under the drop down menu there is an error message that states, network adapter is not enabled. How do i enbale the adatper? As I have checked this in the device manager and it shows that this is enabled. I am totally confused and lost and about to pull my hair out.

Vista HP 32bit....When I power on my laptop after not using the Power off.....so its coming out of Sleep....and you see RESUMING WINDOWS.....9 out of 10 times I won't get connected to my Router. I have used the Diagnostic Tool...and get the same results, which is, power off the Router...and power it back on...and when I do that, I do get re-connected.

I have been on the phone collectively for 6 hours with AT&T as well as had a technician out here to look at this problem. I have a new wireless router box. The whole At&T system went down briefly (tvs and all). When it booted back up my computer wouldn't recognize the wireless network. After getting a new box, it will now recognize the wireless network in my home. It says I am connected to the network with excellent strength but I still cannot get online. I bought a Netgear wireless router today so I can hook up multiple computers in my home. Problem is that when I hook everything according to the -schematics it does not go as planned. I have a verizon dsl modem and before I hook up my router everything works (internet). But when I connect my router I cannot get a connection at all. Also after I disconnected the router and connect just the dsl modem the way it was before I cannot get a connection either. I tried reseting the dsl box and I unhooked all the phone cords and ethernet cords and restarted the computer and it is still a no go. I am so confused I cannot understand it.

I recently got a new computer that came with Windows Vista 64-bit Home Premium edition, I have a DSL connection downstairs plugged into a router,I connect to the router from my room upstairs via wireless, I'm using a Linksys wusb54g wireless router which plugs into my usb port,It connects just fine with a good signal but when I'm trying to play a game (Diablo II) it constantly skips every 60 seconds (my connection to the game freezes for 10 seconds then goes back to normal) when its not skipping my game ping is very good (31 ping),it never did this on my previous computer (which was old and slow) my wireless settings (picture)
