I have a Microsoft Wireless Multimedia Keyboard as part of a desktop package. This was working fine until Vista Update installed something and it stopped working. I have tried to roll back and un-install with no joy. I have also tried to Re-install the drivers for this also with no joy as all I get is the following error "Error 1612".
View 5 RepliesI am using a windows Vista 32 bit home premium notebook computer for which the wireless network detection has stopped working. I updated the driver for the built in wireless card with out any results. I also tried a plug in wireless card which windows detected and said was working properly and this did not work either. This leaves me to believe that something is wrong with the OS. I can get on the internet via dialup modem and also by the ethernet connection with a DSL modem. I have been to several hotspots that I know have wifi and no networks show up. All critical windows updates have been installed.
View 9 Replies View Relatedall of a sudden my wireless connection stopped working, so i did a system restore and it started working again, then it made the updates, and it stopped working again, the system restore worked twice and then after the updates, not working again, this time more permanent, when the computer starts it tells me that the bluetooth is on, but no existence of the wlan, the driver doesn't even show up on the device manager.
Then after some time my computer became stuck it didn't respond (this due to a different issue) so I decided to force the computer to turn off, when it restarted i had a wireless conection, then I turned off the computer and when I turned it back on no internet again, then I decided to try the force turn off again, and again I had internet. also if i have the internet working and i close my computer the internet stops working as well
Whenever my wireless stopped working I would shut my computer down. I'd do a primary hard drive test. It would fix my wireless almost guaranteed. I tried it earlier today and it didn't work. Now I got this screen telling me I need the Vista CD to resolve a problem with one of the drivers. I don't have the Vista CD. My laptop came with the program not the CD. I checked with my manufacture website and I even downloaded an HP Support Assistant. It says everything is up to date.

I was using it when playing LoL (League of Legends), and just went to restroom and when I came back, it's not working anymore. I have thought that maybe it's just the batteries, and I've change it but still not working. I convinced myself that maybe it just died. I have a language program that I purchased and when I try to "Print" a group of lists or flash cards with this program, I am getting this message in a box that says "Microsoft Windows" in the upper left blue area with this message in the white boxed area. It goes on to Say "A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the programand notify you if a solution is available. "But Windows is not notifying me of any solution. And I can't print and it then closes the program. I contacted company and they recommended I uninstall and reinstall the program which I did and the same issue continues to occur. Running Vista on an HP...When I get the pop up to compact the mail I click OK and it gets about 3 quarters of the way thru and I get the message Windows Mail has stopped working and Windows is searching for an answer. The answer was DEP (Data Execution Protection)was shutting it down to protect my computer..What's the problem??? Norton internet Security up to date and nothing found with complete system scan..Vista up to date as well.

Is it not obvious by now that Vista has a problem, maybe a compatability problem, with everything from Internet Explorer and Microsoft Word to third party programs which cause programs, as I mentioned, even programs made by Microsoft, to "stop working"? Is there no an overall "stopped working" patch or something that Microsoft has released by now?...............
All of a sudden some of my programs stopped working, for example catalyst control center is supposed to start as soon as vista starts, but now it gives me an error like:
"CCC.exe has stopped working"
Same with some others...
Yes i ran AVG, i ran malware, and superantispyware, none of them finds anything.
I cant even load daemon tools now, it gives me some error: "Engine loading was failed", cant uninstall it, it gives me another error, and some of the programs like netlimiter if i start them from my objectdock dock they automaticly stop working, only when i start them from the normal .exe they dont crash.
Last night it was fine, turned it off and went to bed, got up thismorning and turned it on, windows can't find any networks. I click "diagnose why..." and it says that my laptop doesn't have a wireless NIC or the drivers are out of date! but nothing changed, and it's not the router it's working fine.

doesn't work and WMP won't play audio tracks (dvds still work, oddly enough) when that started happening I got messages at start up, they are:
Hp quickplay was stopped working cvlcap module (or somthing close to that, I forgot the first part, I know it ends in cap but it might be cvcl or something) has stopped
working and occasionally it would say the disk defraggmentor was stopped working even when I'm just browsing the internet and it's not even open.
those aren't that big a deal, but I really need my NIC working again, I'm running an Avast! virus scan right now but I don't think that it the problem.
on a side note, what do ye nerds think of Avast!? being free seems to good to be true, but I've seen store baught antivirus that is obvisously much worse (defender pro comes to mind.)
I receive the following errors when attempting to synch my iPods or iPhones with iTunes. After synching just a handful of songs, I get an "iTunes has stoppoed working error". It does not happen with my AppleTV however. Also, note that I can keep it from happening if I simply start the iTunes Diagnostics tool and leave it on the screen while it updates the iPod. I came across this workaround by chance but it is obviously annoying. Before you ask me the obvious, I have completely uninstalled iTunes, Quicktime and anything that I could find relevant to iTunes including the iTunes database, music, everything! Something persists however because I cannot get rid of the error.

I have a big problem with my network and the shares. I have 3 laptops, each with Vista Professional. Also I have a WesternDigital mybook world. The laptops connected over wireless, the harddisk is connected over LAN cable. So now my problem: From two of the laptops I could acces the harddisk without any problems. But from the third I always get this error 0x80070035. It's not working with the IP as well as the name. From the 2 working laptops it works with both. I could ping the harddisk form each of the three laptops.
We keep getting a Fatal Error when installing the HP wireless printer.We are working with the CD that HP supplied specially for Vista. The install gets close to finishing that then we get the message of a Fatal Error. Does anyone have a solution to this, or help so that we can get the printer and software loaded up and working?

After a few weeks of using Vista and WMP 11, I learned through these forums that there is a 64-bit version of WMP 11, so I tried it by running the "wmplayer.exe" file in the Program Files directory (not Program Files x86). After a few seconds, I got the dreaded "Windows Media Player has stopped working" error message, along with a prompt to close the program - no additional useful information was provided. After uninstalling any and all codecs, using the SFC utility, using a registry cleaner, and any other suggestion I could find, WMP x64 still would not work for me.
So, I performed a clean install of VISTA HPx64. And, lo and behold, the first time I double-clicked wmplayer.exe in the Program Files directory, it worked! I tried it a few more times and it was still working, so I quickly downloaded the 64-bit Vista Codec package, and used the utilities in the package for switching the default player and registry entries to 64-bit. When I tried to run WMP, I once again got the "Windows Media Player has stopped working" message. I uninstalled the Vista Codecs package, restarted the computer, and still it would not work. I reran the SFC utility, and no corrupt files were found. Curiously, the first time I ran the 32-bit WMP, I was shown a dialog box for choosing options and doing initial set-up; when I ran the 64-bit WMP for the first time, I was given no such set-up opportunity.......
I have A couple of games installed on my Laptop. that have Stopped working. One has always stopped working as soon as I launch it. it is called: F.E.A.R Combat But the Other game I like and has worked fine up utill today is called: Project Torque. i have used Gimp for a long time. I got a new hp vista home premium 64.
i installed it in the new comp. it worked fine for 2 weeks. Then I got the message like :" Gimp has stopped working. Windows will let you know if a solution is found." I uninstalled and installed 3 more times. Same message. I saw on forums on Microsoft to go to reg. and delete gimp stuff. i deleted only what said gimp but only after the 2 uninstall, as this scared me.
Anyway,Same problem. Please help me. I have written to Gimp, Microsoft, Gimptalk, HP. No answer from anyone. I do my work on Gimp. I lost all of my personal Gimp brushes and patterns. (my fault, didn't back up on new laptop yet)...
