View 4 Replies View RelatedBoth apart is quite straightforwad. Go to Options and select which you desire. But I am NOT able to achieve both. Tried two approaches: First I made a BMP-file with my signature and logo and used the stationary wizard to put that on left bottom of my messages. In the wizard I can also change the font and size. Easily done. But ... when I compose a mail the bitmap doesn't go down with the text which makes this approach quite useless.
Secondly I made a HTM-document with Word and again placed my signature and logo on the bottom. In Mail itself I tell to use font Calibri 12. The HTML-text scrolls nicely down when I compose a mail but it KEEPS typing in dull times New Roman 12. The 2nd approach is closest to what I desire apart from the font. Maybe there is a 3rd approach which I haven't found. Maybe there is a simple solution.
My Sims 2 game will not work. When I first used it it told me I needed a patch from the maxis website, so I downloaded it. When I start the game now it freezes at the beginning where it says Sims 2. My computer is a Gateway with Windows Home Vista Premium. It has a AMD Athlon 64 x2 Dual Core Processor 5000+ 2.60 GHz.

I use a PlayStation 2 USB joystick which has been configured and synced with the PC, so that the every button/joystick works. I am 100% sure that there is not a problem with the joystick, as i use it for other games such as Microsoft Flight Sim X and Test drive unlimited. The analogue sticks and buttons work fine.
i have tried both changing the control setting to keyboard but, once again the problem is still there, the plane doesn't stop spinning out of control...##Is it my controls? My general setting are on default so everything original...i have played around with the setting invert/normal... still the same result
just got some games loaded and I used to have ATITray Tools which would let you keep the frame rate and temps in the corner during game play, anything like that for Nvidia? Just ran Quake4 at full specs and had Nvidia performance control panel turn the fan to 90%... but would like to monitor the temps and frame rates on this and other games. 9800GT 1GB. ( as soon as the new card arrives.... back to ATI tools.

I want to replace the Business on my main PC with Ultimate and then reinstall the Business version on a new PC with minimal rework. How do I do this. Can i upgrade the Business using the Ultimate key and then reinstall the Business and use the key previously on my main PC with the previous Business install (I assume I'd have o call MS to reactivate)???
View 5 Replies View RelatedI had some problems with printing to the Vista Ultimate (32 bit) Fax, so I deleted the fax icon from the printer menu in the control panel. I cannot add it now. I get this error message: " The printer corresponding to the selected acct. is not existing. Fax printer is required to render the fax content. Click yes to add the printer now...." I click yes and it gives me this message: "could not add the fax printer. An error has occurred." This all started after I the OS wouldn't start, and I booted from the disk and did a system fix.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI already registered Vista when I got it directly from Microsoft as part of the WFP and there has been no change to the hardware, so why is it telling me there is? I tried to register it again and it's telling me that the product key is already in use. I tried to chat with an agent, but their chatware sucks. I send two messages, which they receive then it dies. Twice I tried.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm in the process of building a PC, so I thought I'd try the ole Windows Vista 64-bit version for the machine. I've got for the machine, a Philips 22" 220CW8FB/05 LCD wide screen monitor, which has a nice display, really. As one does, I've calibrated said monitor and saved the settings, everything looked great. Experience tells me to be weary of what might happen, so I restarted the PC to see that my monitor's resolution and setting aren't displayed properly. The image is stretched vertically, the Start bar isn't even visible - until - I go Personalize > and adjust the resolution to something else, select No when asked if I'd like to keep it and hey presto, my monitor displays properly now. Problem is, I have to do that every single time I restart the machine. Currently, I've got just the drivers that come with my components CDs, I haven't been able to check on-line for other versions (but there isn't one for the monitor) for say the motherboard or graphics card, because in one of typically brilliant Windows moments™ (like when my mouse stopped working and it prompted me to "click here to fix the problem"), when I tried to install the -Vista compatible- modem, Vista said it wouldn't install it without a digital signature, and that I should go to the manufacturer's website for more information. I would. If I had a modem. So, in your humble opinion, which is the bigger waste of money currently? Vista or my monitor (twice as expensive as Vista)? Alternatively, any suggestions as to how I would be able to resolve the aforementioned conflict? I'd really like to keep both of them.PS. I guess it could also be a graphics card problem. It's French (not really, it's from Taiwan, an MSI NX8800GT).

i have windows vista on my machine, i must have installed some software that has messed up my system, i keep getting the blue screen. everytime when i reset the machine, i have to press f8 then select that option: last known configuration'. this is the only way to start it, otherwise the blue screen appears.I feel that the only way to stop all this, is by doing a system reboot where my hard drive will be formatted and installs the OS from scratch.i orginally upgraded vista from XP when i have a student account with my univeristy, but then i had to pay approx ??200 for a new product key but i have not got a vista CD.

View 5 Replies View Relatedi tried installing a hacked version of windows vista so i could upgrade from a 32bit OS to x64 but the only changes that happened is:
1)a new screen right before the vista startup music screen pops up appeared after i "installed" the hacked version which says "A WORLD WITHOUT RELIGION" over a pic of the NYC skyline. it is there for maybe 30 seconds then dissapears and the computer starts normally
2) i am no longer able to sleep/hibernate my laptop. If i try, it turns on but i get a blank screen so i have to either pull the battery out or hard reset in order to get my laptop working again. vista, or at least on my laptop, isnt the quickest to start up so having to do this everytime i use my laptop is extremly annoying i have no clue what to do or how to take it off.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to be as brief as I can...I just built myself a new Vista Ultimate with SP1 system to take the place of my previous entertainment system, Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005. In my home network, the Entertainment System box is my gateway to the internet, via a dial-up connection. I'm in an area where I can't get DSL or cable. I've successfully used ICS on 3 different Windows builds over the years, from Win98 to WinME to WinXP, all setup on the WAN port of routers. This effectively isolates the Windows box running ICS from the other two computers I run on the LAN. My WAN IP range is thus controlled by the DHCP service built into ICS, and I'm free to use anothe IP range on my LAN instead of 192.168.0.x that ICS assigns. There is only this system with it's dial-up connection on the WAN side; the system is essentially behaving like a slow DSL modem.
Here's the problem: my brand new Vista Ultimate entertainment system will not talk reliably to any of the 3 routers I've tried, on EITHER LAN OR WAN! 2 of the 3 routers I have used with my previous XP-based entertainment system, and they behave just fine. What is it about ICS in Vista that is preventing me from even accessing the setup for my routers? I've tried turning off Windows firewall, disabling IPv6 and Network Discovery, etc. until I'm blue in the face, but nothiing helps. Even if I connect Vista to the LAN side and set proper static IP to reach router configuration, I'm denied! I bought a new Belkin wireless N router today, thinking it HAS to be a compatibility issue, but even this "Vista ready" router will NOT let me even configure it using the Vista OS. I sure hope someone can give me some answers that help me understand. I hate to think I might have to put my XP Media Center box back in the dial-up sharing position just to get my internet connection back to my other computers again....
I can not stand Windows Vista, give me back Outlook Express email again!

The computer is running Vista Home Premium 32 bit, service pack 2. I also use Norton 360 The Bad Image error alert for both Sidebar and Windows Mail is the same for both and reads:
C:Windowssystem32CRYPTUI.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software ventor for support. The cryptui.dll file in the system32 folder is 949 KB in size. I have found a new cryptui.dll file on the internet but it is only 500 KB in size which would suggest it is not the correct replacement. I have also tried to rename the original cryptui.dll file, but could not do this even in safe mode. I am not sure what or when this change happened.
Been using Vista 64 Home Premium for a few months and can play games like Crysis, Bioshock, Gears of War (all DX10) no problem..However when I start to play C&C3, C&C3 Kanes Wrath, World of Warcraft, Company of Heroes, GTA SA, World in Conflict, they crash (genrally video crash then sounds goes then full reboot. Really want to get C&C3/C&C3 Kanes Wrath working (they both run for 10 minutes or so.) nearly at the point where I'm gonna go back to 32 bit operating system (but don't want to waste my hard earned money). Hotfixes don't seem to have done the trick.

I recently upgraded my graphics card from a Radeon 9600 to 3650 and that is where I struck problems. The standard VGA adaptor isn't working or became corrupt and when I installed the Radeon driver, the system froze after a short while. I have tried deleting adaptor, but that also removes "Display Adaptors" from the Device Manager, so even if I install the 3650 driver, it won't appear as installed. I have tried doing a clean install of Vista but the same thing occurs. On the other hand I have no problem with Windows 7 RC1 where everything works perfectly. What purpose does the VGA serve anyway since I still have a display without it working?
