I am trying to print several pictures on a large sheet of picture print paper
and I dont know how to select the pictures that i want to print. I dont know
how to get started with the print gallery. I am trying to make a colage of
pictures.
When attempting to print/save a web page as a PDF in Vista, a dialog pops up; "For your computer???s security, the file was saved to the Temporary Internet File Folder.? Do you want to open this folder?, Yes or No". When clicking ?Yes? you are taken to a folder named ?Virtualized?, which contains no files. Also the PDF printer dialog box shows "Error - Printing" and the PDF printer refuses to print. PDF files can be saved from other programs with no problems. The web page can also be printed to local or network printers. We are not using Zone Alarm
We just purchased two new Vista machines (1 laptop, 1 desktop) for our church office, both running 32 bit Home Premium. I am running an account with (as far as I know) complete admin access. We have a network printer which has its own IP address assigned by the router. All three pieces of hardware run through our WRT54G router. I have tried to install the network printer on both machines. With the laptop, Vista's "Add Printer" wizard found the printer and installed it without a hitch. The laptop can print perfectly fine.
However, the desktop is having several printing issues. First I attached an HP USB printer to it. Vista seemed to install the drivers just fine, but I didn't do a test print to make sure that it worked. A few days later I tried to add the network printer as I did with the laptop, but things started going bad! If I select the option of installing a local USB printer the wizard hangs and tells me its "not responding"............
I use Vista on my network notebook and XP on my PC. I have a HP 6L printer hooked up to the PC. All of a sudden, it started printing a blank page in addition to every page I send to print from my Notebook. The PC prints just fine. I am stumped as Vista says it has the latest printer driver installed and so does the XP. Firewall are from PCcillin and Mcfee. I have allowed those additional ports as referenced in another post, but no change.
My printer is printing out half of the one page. It stops prinhting in the middle of a page and goes to the next page. It stops printing after only finishing the top half of a sentence. I got it to work once. I'm also having an issue with my mouse and keyboard. The mouse will sometimes click a second time and the keyboard will get stuck on the last key for like 3 seconds.
Trying to work out kinks on my Vista 32 bit. After clicking print in Windows Mail, it automatically jumps to an open Internet page, and then I have to click back to the Mail. This is driving me nuts.
When I open hotmail from windows live messenger, the page opens from an already open internet explorer web page + a new one with a message saying that the email address or password is incorrect. Does it happen to anyone else here?
I have recently had strange pixilated images mixed in with our photos when playing music and selecting slide show, our photos appear along with random images, they are not coming from MY PICTURES folder as i have right clicked when the odd pic appears and they are coming from random folders that i can't find.
I thought the strange graphics were coming from itunes or Tom Tom so i have uninstalled them both...but the images keep coming. How do i stop media center looking and producing these annoying images
All the pictures in my Pictures folder have disappeared, leaving behind a bunch of empty folders. I did not delete them, and I have no viruses according to AVG. It appears that this happened to a few others on this forum, but no solutions were presented. I noticed that the Read Only button was checked on the main folder, so I unchecked it, and I watched the status window un-apply "read only" protection from all my actual pictures files, so it seems to me that they're still there but invisible.
I performed a system restore, and Recova is in the process of performing a "Deep Scan" for my pictures (the quicker scan did not find the files). Has anyone solved the problem of the disappearing pictures? Is this a Vista problem, or perhaps a problem with an update?
Post in reply to: John Clemence Have un-installed printer drivers, etc and re-installed. Made not one jot of difference. BUT Installed Firefox and that does print!
HP is the new web printing ad-on for IE8? It says that it is but when you go to download it, it states that the system is only for IE6 and IE7? When I called HP to ask about the new version, they acted like they didn't know what I was talking about, surprise, surprise...They told me that it is not HP but Microsoft that will publish this ad-on? I didn't understand that, they told me to call them.
how to resolve or further debug. I've got a Thinkpad Laptop running Vista x64 Ultimate. I reinstalled the OS ~3 weeks ago and installed my print drivers. I have 2 network printers and I also use doPDF to create PDFs. All of these were working just fine.
Today they are not printing correctly, but not in a way I can figure out. Applications give me an error saying there is an unknown error or that there is no default printer installed. This happens in Firefox, OpenOffice, Acrobat, Thunderbird and others.
The weird thing is that if I goto control panel and try to print a test page with any of the printers it works fine. In addition, I can print txt files from both Notepad & Wordpad, but still not from Openoffice. So why is it I can print simple txt files & test pages but not from the apps I need to print from. BTW this happens for all the printers I have installed including the 2 network printers, the local PDf printer (doPDF), & the XPS printer. These all worked last time I printed (a few days ago), but not today. What can I do to ideally fix this or at least better debg this?
My KX-P1123 does not print in response to the "Print" command from Vista Home Basic. It worked well when connected to Win98. I don't think theprinter is at fault because it does print in response to inputs from itsControl Table.
I am using the correct printer cable ."USB to Centronix 36parallel printer. Vista's Control Panel/Printers shows the KX-P1123 is installed. The Panasonic website tells me that the printer's driver (*1INBOX) is installed and no other drivers are needed.
Following the instructions that came with the cable, I made the KX-P1123 the default printer, right-clicked it and selected "Properties". Then clicked "Ports" and selected "USB001:Virtual PrinterPort for USB". Clicking "Print Test Page" changes printer status from "Ready" to "Error".
If I connect my Epson inkjet to the PC, it works well, so the PC does not seem to be the problem.I evidently did something wrong, or left something undone.
I've tried everything conceivable to get a decent print-out of a 4-page tif file I have, to no avail. I have Vista Home Premium. When I try to print from Windows Photo Gallery, it turns my tif into landscape orientation and then prints only the middle part and the output is distorted.
I am so frustrated with Vista. I'm sending 3/4 of my time solving problems and getting very little work done. Can someone please tell me how to print a decent copy of a 4-page tif file in Vista?
i run a wirless net work with 2 XP computers and 1 vista computers I can see every one on my network map on my vista computer but not in the network section. My printer is slaved off of my desktop XP and my XP laptop can print to it. However I can't get my Vista lap top to access the hard drive of either computer or the printer. I have install the patch on both xp computers and the printer is vista compatable. network discovery is turned on on my vista computer.
I have recently installed Vista. Printing pages from the Internet does not work. Printing elsewhere works. The error message is Make sure the path or Internet address is correct.
The shared printer is connected to LPT of a Vista computer. We used to have an XP computer that could print to this printer. We changed the XP comp for a Vista notebook. This notebook has the same user/password as the Vista machine where the printer is connected to. Hence, this user can print from the notebook.
Now the strange part: another user on this notebook can't. It is sent to the printer spooler, sits there for a few minutes ('printing...') and then there's an error message (just 'cannot print' or something like that). We set this account to administrator type, during install we put in and stored the account name and password of the account that can print (so the one that is the same on both computers) but to no avail. We followed this instruction from an earlier post [1]:.......
I couldn't see a forum based purely on printing, so please redirect me if this is not the place to be. I've been searching for an answer to this for a while, but haven't been getting very far. Scenario: Vista 32bit Home Premium SP1 PC, with a Konica Minolta 2500w Magicolor printer via USB. All printing works fine from the desktop. XP Laptop with SP3, all sitting together happily in a wireless network (workgroup called workgroup). File and printer sharing is turned on, and I can exchange files between laptop and desktop with no issues.
I can see and install the printer on the laptop, and I can print a test page (I had to turn bidirectional off to achieve this, or at least achieve this without restarting the print spooler every time). When I try to print from an application such as Word, I get an error to say that there was an error printing to the printer, check printer is installed properly, etc. If I try to print from notepad I get an error the handle is invalid. If I try to print from Wordpad, no errors, but no print job is created either. I can continue to print test pages from the laptop even after receiving this error. Within the Network and Sharing Centre, I can see the printer listed underneath my Vista desktop machine. If I connect the printer directly to the laptop via the USB cable, the laptop can print from any application I choose.
I have a VPN connection from my home to my office. I have an XP machine at the office with programs that I need to run from home. I remote desktop into the xp machine at the office over the VPN. I need to print documents at home from the xp machine at the office. I have a wireless network at home with an HP printer connected to the router. I have 2 laptops at home, 1 runs xp and the other runs vista. Both laptops can print fine locally. Both laptops can romote into the office computer and run it fine. The xp machine at the office will print to the printer at home fine thru the xp laptop over the VPN. When using the vista laptop over the VPN to the office the home shows up and print jobs seem to go fine. .....EXCEPT...... only part of document prints. It may only print the first line or it may cut off the last few lines. It will print the "test page" with no problem.
When I print anything there was a box that usually appeared in the lower right corner telling me the status of the printing job and the ink levels. All of a sudden this does not appear when I print. What do I have to do to get this box (window) back?
It seems that local printing using a RemoteApp program (via TS Easy Print) only works for Vista, not for XP. It that true? I can't get it to work for a client running Windows XP SP3, running a program which is really on my Windows Server 2008 SP1. Or maybe I'm missing something. Is there a work-around for XP (like maybe install .net 3.5)?
Configuration: HP Laptop with Vista Home Premium, Compaq desktop with XP home and Epson Rx500 USB printer shared, Dell desktop with XP home. All in same WORKGROUP. Symptom: XP systems print to RX500 OK. When adding printer to Vista, sees RX500 but get error message after "Connecting to RX500" box. Error messsage says Windows cannot connect to the printer. Access is denied.
I want to print out a list someone has sent me in an email. I select and click on the selection option but it always prints out the header information along with the selection. Is there a way to have it only print the selected area? I looked in options and can't seem to find any way to correct that issue.
I have a Dell Inspiron 531 computer with Vista Home. My printer is an Epson Stylus C86. It prints everything that I send it, except coupons. The coupon page says my coupons are printing, but they don't. I get the following statement when I tried to reload the coupon printing software.
"Unfortunately our site does not support coupon printing using your current computer set up. Coupon Printing for Windows. Coupon printing is currently supported on Windows Operating Systems Vista, XP, and 2000 when used with Internet Explorer 6+, FireFox 1+ Netscape 8+, and most MSN and AOL browsers."
I have an HP Laserjet 1300 and for some reason my driver won't let me print on bothsides manually like I used to do. The vista drivers on the HP site have not worked for me.
