When I copy a document from Works and try to paste into a new e-mail the e-mail program shuts down. This procedure used to work okay but no longer does. I am using Vista basic.

View 7 Replies View RelatedSince I have moved from Outlook Express to VISTA Windows Mail whenever I try to past from the clipboard into an e-mail I am composing it automatically changes any foriegn language fonts characters to all English characters. I would then have to highlight each foriegn language phrase and then select the language font from the font menu. I should not have to do this if Window Mail would retain the original fonts from the clipboard or other document program I am pasting from. How can I
resolve this problem.
When a click on a program in the start menu, explorer shuts down and restarts. However, if I drag the program to the desktop and click on it the program opens just fine. If I open windows explorer and right click on a file, explorer shuts down and restarts. Have there lost all context item availability.
View 4 Replies View RelatedWithout a doubt the worst windows version ever made! Microsoft were finally on track with windows XP pro but they had to go and screw it up by bringing us vista! Nothing works, nothing is compatible every program supposedly compatible seizes or shuts down! It is constantly vulnerable to viruses! There's no end to the complaints I have about this crappy version of windows! Wake up microsoft because you're just soft now and nothing micro about it!

View 8 Replies View RelatedI receive a message that states "this file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the set Assoc control panel". This started after getting my new computer and changing from using Microsoft Outlook Express with Windows XP to Windows Mail with Vista.
I checked the file associations. If I set a file extension of .doc to Microsoft Word (2007) instead of Microsoft Works Word Processor, the a file with .doc will not open but will open under Works Word Processor. This only occurs will email attachments. I don't have any problems if the attachment is saved from another computer to a jump drive and then try to open it on my computer.
My husband got a computer about the same time that I did and he doesn't have this problem but he also doesn't use Windows Mail either (He reads his emails from the internet - Yahoo). I used Outlook Express before and didn't want to lose any of my old documents.
I am running Vista Ultimate, Windows Live Mail and Word 2000. I can not email a displayed document directly from Word. The email icon is greyed out. I would prefer to not have to move to a later version of Word as with all Microsoft products MS seems intent on taking things that were simple and making them aggrivatingly complicated and annoying. My kingdom for a 'Don't Think For Me' button.
1) Is there a way to be able to email (not as an attachment) from Word 2000 in my environment (using Windows Live Mail).
2) Which versions of Word can you email from using Windows Live Mail? For example, if I upgrade to Word 2007 can I then email? Or from Wird 2008?
I really need this feature as it is a backbone of our internal documentation and reporting system.... I will suffer a Word upgrade if I have to, but just want to make sure it will work before I take the plunge.
I noticed this problem after installing SP2; anyone else having this problem?
View 5 Replies View Relatedi've always used "alt-prntscrn" and "ctrl-V" to copy images into excel worksheets. With vista, I can't. I've also tried pasting into Paint and saving THAT file(in both jpeg and bmp formats), then copying THAT into excel. Doesn't work. I HAVE to use print screen- the program I'm using has absolutely NO WAY to save/copy/export the image I'm analyzing.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI do not have Vista, or Windows Mail, or Hotmail, so I'm flying a bit blind here. I have an acquaintance who has Vista, but does all her emailing via Hotmail. Recently, she has had some problems with the Hotmail service, and she has asked me if it is possible for her to change to the mail program that comes with Vista. (Windows Mail?) The snag is, she would like to import the contents of of all her web-based Hotmail folders, (her email messages in other words), and her Hotmail contacts into whatever email program she changes to.
1. Would this be possible with Windows Mail, or does she need to write off all her Hotmail stuff and start again from scratch?
2. If it is not possible with Windows Mail, is it possible with any other email client, such as Thunderbird or similar?
I have been looking for a better screenshot device/program, and I came upon this SnagIt8. My problem is after capturing the image and pasting it to a wordpad or equivalent, I couldn't find a way to copy/paste to a post like this one. The Paste was always grayed out when I tried to paste it here. Either that, or I would have an empty box with a red X at the top. I can't use the paperclip icon either, because people who clicked the link would be asked to join something before they could see the screenshot.

There's nothing in the drop down box. When I go to settings... it says you are already connected to the internet - which I am. So, someone in this group told me to upgrade to Windows Live Mail. I did that and so far have been very happy with it. Except that, I can't find new stationery for the program. I've used the same method in viewing them for quite some time now, but using the same method after getting this new laptop with vista installed isn't showing me the files.
