License With Mp3: Sent To A Website That Does Nothing
Mar 23, 2008
windows vista home premium/windows media player 11. Today I can no longer play certain mp3's I have. I am told I need a license and to get it, I am sent to a website that does nothing. No information on the website is offered to obtain the license other than to go to certain other websites, and pay for the license.
Up until today, I could play the mp3's with no problems. Perhaps due in part in using "Rhapsody" for the first time. My problem is, how and where exactly do I obtain this "license" which should be free, or at least at bare minimal cost for ALL of my mp3's? Not just a select few. It's my damn property, microsoft ain't gonna tell me how and when i can use it.
I bought a computer with a hard drive that had been completely clearedand i dont have the installation DVD but i do have a legitimate os license code. How should i go about installing vista?
now I realize that MS is trying to protect me from all the web baddies. But why can't I log on to their website (hotmail) without turning security off? I've set that site as OK for cookies. But if security is on then it won't accept my password. I'm not typing it wrong, I've had that email for about 6-7 years now. As soon as I turn off security, close IE, open IE I can log on. Then I have to turn on security and close IE, then open for security to be back on. Is there a way I can just log on without turning off security. Or can I convice MS to fix this obvious blunder? Vista Home basic BTW
I have a license of vista business and dvd media is for 32 bits. I used this version on my old machine Microsoft send me now a 64 bits version for my new machine but when i try to activate license it shows me that it is in use. How do i can activate again ?
I own a website that has been transfered to a different hosting account however I still cannot access the site - everyone else can, including my partner (we live together and share the internet) but I still get the page that we put up saying that the site will be back soon, just changing servers etc. I'm using firefox - I've cleared my history, the cache and even deleted my bookmarks. I've cleared the cache using the command prompt and I've cleared out all temporary internet files. I've run out of ideas as to why I still cant get onto the site (which can be found here).
I am enquiring if it is at all possible to run a website without hosting? If I created my own website, would I be able to run it without hosting? A friend told me I could?? Can anyone explain this to me?
when ever i go to this one specific website it will not come up the screen just says, request cancelled 101. does anyone know how to fix this? i used to be able to go to this website with no problrms at all and now my computer is blocked. i tried different web browsers.
I am looking at buying a laptop at an online auction site, but the item states the "Operating System License Key" is included. However the items not included are:
Installed Operating System Operating System Restore Partition Operating System Restore Disc (s)
Does anybody know if it is possible to install windows Vista with a Windows 7 license key? I'm planning to buy a new pc but I don't want to switch to 7 right away, I prefer to upgrade only later on. If I'm correct it was possible to install XP with a Vista license, but I can't seem to find the same information for Windows 7.
I am looking at buying a laptop at an online auction site, but the item states the "Operating System License Key" is included. How can I use this computer or do I have to buy a full OS version?
I bought a computer in a silent auction at work. I thought the version of Vista was legit but found out it has an enterprise license. I would like to purchase and install Vista Home Premium but since I have a licensed copy of XP Home, I am wondering if a) I'm entitled to use an upgrade license of Vista, and b) can I install Vista Home Premium over top of the existing enterprise edition and reference the XP license keys when prompted?
My system keeps telling me that my Windows-license will end in x days, though I have a valid Vista-copy. I have installed SP1 in september and from that date it says 'evaluation-copy' in the right-bottom corner. Does anyone know what the problem is?
I had a laptop that had Vista home preium. I upgraded to vista Ultimate thru anytime upgrade. That laptop Is no longer in Use. I got another laptop Which has Visa Home Basic. The Question Is "Can I transfer My ditgal License To the laptop I have now and upgrade to vista ultimate ?
I've a web site url that apparently is unreachable from my PC (dhcp reserved address), MS Windows Vista Business and IE8, ONLY this website. I checked firewall and antivirus settings, i tried to bypass firewall, but problem persist. I changed from DHCP to Fixed IP, i changed DNS, but none. I also tried from Firefox / Chrome, same problem. Apparently the site is resolved from DNS but then not reachable. The tracert command shows that the request expire immediately, so it seems that the request remains local and is not forwarded outside from my PC....
I've another PC, Windows XP Pro SP3, IE7 (also this dhcp reserved), it's joined in the same domain, so same dchp - dns - gateway and firewall rules...., same problem. This PC is a dual boot with Debian 5, so i tried to boot in linux and surprise...with Firefox that website opens immediately...and the tracert command shows that it is reachable among 4 nodes.... In linux the dhcp and the ip released is the same as XP....so it points to same default gateway and dns.....
I am not sure if this is a Microsoft issue or laptop issue but i play an online game & there is a program that i can use which enables me to play it automatically, however in order to use this program it needs to connect to its webpage. This has been working fine til saturday & then it stopped working. The website that i am not able to connect to (either on FireFox or IE7)
I have uninstalled AVG & disabled Windows Firewall & still not able to connect to the website or use the program. I re-installed AVG but had to install the 8.0 version & as i am sure you know already when you google something AVG will use its Resident Shield & Linkscanner & let you know if the links are safe; well, with the link for this website it says that it cannot scan it & that may be due to the webpage being removed or there is an issue with it. I know the webpage is there & that there is nothing wrong as i can use my girlfriends laptop on the same connection & it works perfectly fine.
i just got my PC up and running (vista 64) and every old web page i try to open the page invalid security certificate appears. then gives me 3 options then i open the not recommended one, and the webpage appears in different font. how do i get back to normal. norton 360 security used
i have 2 fast efficient computers....one using vista ultimate 64 bit, one using xp home premium..... we have fast broadband....i have a problem on both computers that my Internet channel has blank thumbnails....then they load up very slowly.....up to 2-5 minutes.....sometimes no picture....just a red cross & title on thumbnail....i cannot play video until all thumbnails are loaded. playing video is fine ...no problems viewing in hi def... no problems if i play from another link....but my channel loads chronically slow this also happens on some other websites but Internet is chronic on both computers.....using ie8 or firefox...yet my slow dog of a computer at work running xp works fine on my Internet channel. i tried compatability mode but makes no difference..
I have altered my hosts file on both an XP and Vista computer. The XP computer correctly blocks the unwanted websites ("Page cannot be displayed") but the same exact hosts file on the vista computer shows the sites.
I recently installed VMware on my Vista 64-bit desktop. I used the Vista 32-bit software that I have on my laptop to set up a guest system. I believe that I now need to activate this latter system by purchasing a new license.
When I go the ComputerProperties route to activate the system and to purchase a new license, I keep getting the message "Unable to process your order at this time. Please try again later." (I am now several days later...) Is there another route I should use to activate my software before my time expires (and my computer self destructs)?
I have a Sony Vaio VGC-LA1. Originally it was running Windows XP Media Centre 2005. I upgraded it to Vista Home Premium using a Vista Express Upgrade Disc sent to me from Sony. this included all the relevant updated drivers and applications. A few weeks ago the HDD died and had to be replaced. I've reinstalled XP from my recovery disc, then upgraded again to Vista using Vista Express Disc. However I can't activate Vista as it says its already in use and I require another license. How can I activate it?
A friend of mine has been complaining that a notebook of his didn't come with an OEM recovery disc, but instead had a program to use to create the disc. The company is Toshiba. I was wondering, are computer manufacturers required by the M$ licensing laws to provide the media, or are they allowed to just install a program to create the media?
I have acquired my Vista license in a rather peculiar mode, I will describe it so bear with me (there's a question at the end): I had been looking for a Vista license for a while but most IT shops didn't have any types on stock until I reached three webshops which were offering Vista Home Premium (both x32 and x64, the type that I now run). All of them were advertised on site only with the simple name at a price around 100 and something USD (about 130 I would guess with currency conversion).
I called all three asking for an update quote mentioning my interest in a purchase. Two called me back confirming the price but saying the license there was OEM, therefore it can't be sold like that, only with a system purchased from them, either on the spot or purchased from them less than three months ago. I had no idea what OEM means at the time. The third one however accepted my order and shipped a Vista package, which contained a brief OEM manual, a sticker and the original DVD (with all those cute colorful Microsoft holograms). Of course the package was legit, I put the sticker on my PC, installed it, passed genuine validation & everything. But I still wonder, since this package is obviously OEM and I didn't get my computer from that company anyway, is there a chance I could get in trouble for that? OR maybe the company who sold me the license will get in trouble?
Purchased: New Systemax Computer from TigerDirect.com, Has Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 64bit installed. The installed O.S. has a O.E.M. volume license number. The unit came with a Windows O.S. Cd with it's own product key. Can I change the volume license number to the individual computer product key without reinstalling the operating system.? If this is possible how do I proceed? Does the different product key automatically activate?
I bought a Vista Home Premium x64 last week-end. Today a friend, i think saw my product key for Vista. I think he note that. If he use that Product Key somewhere, I can lose my Genuine License?

I have a full retail license for Vista Ultimate installed on a computer. I'm buying a new computer with an OEM license for Home Premium. I want to apply the Ultimate license from the old computer onto the new computer. The old computer will be recycled without an OS. What steps do I need to take to make this work?
Immediately after installing Vista SP1, every time Outlook 2003 is opened I get an "End-User License Agreement" accept window which I click on accept but it happens every single time Outlook is opened! Any ideas on why this is happening and how to eliminate the constant prompt?
How do I make sure that the SetupComplete.cmd file analyzing the license key of Vista SP1 64-bit typed during the installation so that I can act on this key a conditional structure or similar? By chance, there is another way to analyze this license key?
