my front line game keeps crashing for no reason im running windows vista. it doesnt come up with any errors it start up when you get the first picture then goes to flick over screens then crashes.
I've just buy the first f.e.a.r., and it seems I can't play it. I can install it, but when I start to play, the screen become more colorful than a rainbow and my computer crash. My question is, does f.e.a.r. is compatible with vista 64 bit home premium sp 1? I don't really understand that I can play Crysis, but not f.e.a.r.! Does anyone have the same problem? I've tried to run this game as an administrator, and to run it in compatibility mode, but nothing seems to do the trick. I've installed the latest driver for my graphic card, etc, etc....
Has anyone found a good fix for Fallout 3's crashes? Looking around the web shows this to be a huge problem for the game. The game started crashing on me about two weeks ago. I think I'm on level 9? At any rate upgrading my soundcard (X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Pro) and video card (ATI HD 4890 1GHz) has done nothing to stop the crashes. The upgrades were part of my system upgrade schedule and had nothing to do with the crashes, it hasn't. I get no error codes or anything other than a hard crash - the game just quits where it is and I have to Ctrl+Alt+Delete to get out the game. I know it's not the video card because I don't have the dreaded "Display driver has stopped" issue. Also my other games, FEAR2, Crysis, Crysis Warhead, and HL2 work just fine.
the game has installed but once tryin to load it says this
Error3:
Your system does not meet the minimum requirements for ( The game) (suberror 7). Your video card must support hardware acceleration and have at least 15 megabytes of video Ram available. i fyour video card doesnt support compressed textures it must have at least 64 megabytes if video RAM available.
I have tried going into the display settings and advanced settings then troubleshooting but my computer does not allow me to change it as the icon is grayed out.
the details of my graphics card are
operating system: windows vista tm home premium (6.0, build 6001)
Just got Vista (32). Battlefield 1942 expansion installed fine. runs for a second or 2 then crashes. Tried to reinstal, same thing. Came up with (game failed, game closing)?
I have the old problem of the hyperlinks not working in preview mode.
I've done the reg fix found here http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;823720 which always worked ok in XP but doesn't seem to cure the problem in Vista 64.
I'm wondering if it's caused by there being two versions of IE, 32 and 64 bit.
I hit this button to extend the cup holder on the front of the PC. When I placed the big gulp on the cup holder, it broke. Now I don't know what to do.
I've just installed the OS Vista Ultimate 64 in my Asus P5N-D motherboard. The problem is that when I was using the XP 32bits the front panel was working perfectly. And now on Vista it doesn't, and I didn't touched the connectors.
I have a weird problem with my Vista partition and my creative x-fi xtreme PCI express card. Drivers / control panel can detect my headphones being plugged into the port in my front panel. If I do a channel test I can hear the "left channel" / "right channel" test audio track play through the headphones. But for the life of me, no matter what I do, I can not get normal windows sound (media player, power dvd etc...) to go through the head phones when they are plugged into the front panel and it's driving me crazy. I've set headphones to be the default play back device but nothing.
What kills me is that if I boot into my windows XP partition, everything is fine. The speakers are even muted when I plug my headphones in and sound comes out of them perfectly. Am I doing something wrong? or is it just a driver bug? I'm using the latest vista drivers (via creative update). I'm running 64 bit Vista business by the way
My msn messenger or windows life messenger cannot detect my front mic in a voice call i.e. the caller cannot hear my voice although i can hear his. In my windows Sound Recording properties, the status of front mic button is Working. Besides, i also can record sound using Sound Recorder with my front mic. Anything to do with the setting in MSN/Live messenger?
I have win vista ultimate sp1. Almost all of my icons have been replaced by old icon; How can I restore my icons to their defaults- all icons, drive icons, folder icons, file icons?
1) Headset plugged into front jacks is not working and it looks like my PC hasn't even sensed the headset bcos I expected it to it ask me about what I have plugged into the jack if it was not sure.
2) Rear speakers are working fine for playbacks. Rear jack microphone is working for recording but the issue is the audio being recorded cannot be heard from speakers. After I stop recording I can play and hear the recording but not while I am recording it.
Has someone faced this and has some solutions for me? Let me make it clear that same hardware works absolutely fine when the OS was XP. I had a fresh Vista install couple of days back on hardware with Intel motherboard, Intel core 2 duo 946GZ Express chipset. I have every possible (also all optional) latest update for the OS. I have installed latest drivers meant for Vista (audio and graphics accelerators) downloaded and installed yesterday from Intel site.
My issue is that I can't get any non-USB microphone to be picked up on any input, front or rear panel. I have installed the newest Realtek Audio HD drivers (2.00) and just recently did a fresh install of Vista with SP1 thinking that that would solve the issue. My system is fully up to date according to Windows Update.
However, though the sound manager realizes when I plug in a microphone, there is absolutely no level of input no matter how much I yell into it. I have two separate microphones (both working on other computers i.e my laptop's Vista install) which are not picked up at all.
I have cross checked and triple checked that the sound settings are all unmuted and corresponding within Realtek's sound manager as well as Vista's. This solves nothing. There is still no recognition of a working mic.
I am totally stumped as the microphone used to work on Vista when I had the automatic HD Audio Driver installed from Microsoft and then suddenly stopped. However, I have since tried to revert to the old driver but to no avail.
I have an expensive motherboard (ASUS P5N32-SLI SE Deluxe) with 5.1 sound (Realtek AC'97) IO on the back panel and an internal 10 pin (with 2 pins missing) AC'97 header to which I should be able to attach the AC'97 lead from my case's front panel headphone + mic sockets.
However, when I plug in the internal header, I lose the front left and right speakers from my 5.1 back panel socket (without getting it out the front socket either). I assume this is something to do with the way vista has only one "speakers" thing in control panel's "sound" thing and how it detects if things are unplugged. The only way I have been able to get the back panel sound back has been to unplug the front panel from the internal IO header.
Does anyone know how to fix this so that I can use both the front panel (headphones) and back panel (speakers) without turning my computer off to attach a lead to the motherboard?
The problem is that when I'm listening to music or playing a game, the sound works just fine on my speakers. But if I plug in my headphones to the front port, the sound continues to come out of my speakers, and not my headphones. The only way to get the sound to come out of my headphones and not the speakers is to re-launch the application that is producing sound. The same is true vice-versa (going from headphones back to speakers). I have set my default output device to be the headphones and have played around with every setting in the Sound Blaster and Vista Sound control panels I can find - nothing seems to work.
I have read through other forums with similar issues, but they're all either a different issue (i.e. they get sound out of the speakers and the headphones - I only get it out of one, and not the right one), or the threads seem to have dropped off unsolved.
Front panel microphone and headphone doesn't work Win Vista, I have onboard Realtek HD Audio ALC880, last driver version R1.88. So it work fine Win XP only. I think Vista realtek driver hasn't full support of ALC880?
It shows my front jacks. But when I plug in my headset nothing pops up, and I can't manually click the jack. Having to pull out my entire computer every time I want to plug in my headset it really really annoying, which is the whole reason I got jacks on the front of my computer.now they don't work?
I can sucessfully load up the game and all however whenever i try to join a multiplayer game(says "Joining Server... then crashes" or finish loading a single player game(after the textures are loaded or the shaders it just crashes) OR whenever i click audio in settings my game(right after i click audio it just goes boom) just crashes back to desktop with the BF2142.exe error. I've read about many different crashes with other people but this seems different, people have had crashes during map changes, splash screen, and a few secs after joining the server, havent seen anyone with my problem of crashing when i see the "joining server.." box.
I've tried 1)reinstalling/repatching 2)run the exe as admin. 3)disable UAC and reinstall/repatch after restart
Im pretty sure my computer can handle the game, my old one did fine and this one owns it. Im kind of lost, I've tried many things and this freaking game just doesnt want to work.
I installed SS2 on this PC (runs windows vista home premium 32bit), but sadly the game won't run correctly. I've looked around a little bit, and I see that not watching the videos is a common problem. But that's not my main problem <:/ I can run the game just fine for about 30 seconds... suddenly, it just freezes. The last sound is looped, and the mouse is frozen.
I am installing a new Gigabyte mobo (MA78GM-US2H) in an HP Media Center Case. The pin layout between the case & mobo is nearly the same except that the HD LED and the Power LED are reversed on the new mobo. The power switch pins are correct. The case does not have reset capability. Does it matter that the two LED pin connectors are reversed or should I attempt to change the wires coming from the case?
I'm trying to get my Line-in to play through my desktops speakers! They are currently muted and my speaker properties currently don't have an un-mute option (common Vista bug...was so easy on XP). I plugged a stereo jack from my xbox360 into the back of my new desktop with windows VISTA. Windows vista is able to detect sound coming in, but does not play it through my speakers.
So far ive:
-tested the stereo jack in my laptop, with windows XP and it worked perfectly. -doulbed checked to make sure everything is unmuted. -used windows vista sound recorder to record input sound...i was able to play it after.......
i bought this system on 2nd november. just imagine, i spend ~1800$ to buy this pc AND after 17 days, 17 days i still cant get sound out of my onboard sound card!
the problem is that the ANALOG BACK PANEL and FRONT PANEL does not work
Here are gigabyte tech support's answers to my problem: "We are really sorry for the inconvenience you have with our product and According to your description, a further testing or examination to your system might be required."
today, my supplier tested the motherboard in front of my eyes, and it worked fine THERE. they said maybe it is your graphics card's driver (HD 4870) that makes this problem. so i came home, uninstalled the VGA driver and ATI HD Audio driver and STILL NO SOUND my speakers are fine (i tested them with another pc and with my mp3 player) and i installed the latest drivers for everything.
i also e-mailed Realtek technical support last week, and they didnt answer! i asked in 3 or 4 other forums (tomshardware, anandtech, guru3d....) no one could help me if u need to know anything, please let me know and here are some pictures, maybe they can help u to figure out what is wrong with my pc [url] as u can see in the last picture, the ANALOG BACK PANEL is inactive in Realtek HD Audio Manager.
since few days i have been seeing a straight line visible near the gadget column.. and whn i open explorer or internet explorer, tht line is visible, does anyone have solution to gt rid of the line? attaching a picturee...
I recently exported all my mail from Windows mail, re-installed Windows, then imported my mail back in again, along with my account info and contacts. Everything has seemed fine, however approximately one in every 20-50 emails has a strange problem. The subject line will show a subject and sender, however the content pane will show a comletely different email, an email from a different sender and on a diferent date.
1. I might receive an email with a certain sender and subject on the 2nd of Oct 2009. 2. Click on the subject and see different email content from a different sender in the content pane. 3. Check the email headers with the subject selected (Ctrl+F3) and see the headers show it is from the person in the content pane and was sent on the 1st of Oct 2009.
i had a blue line across the screen. I accidently removed my ATI driver and uninstalled the catalys(cant spell) control center. I have the driver form windows update but i cant get back my control center. I got a control center from pc world but that justs wants me to register and nothing else.
I finally am ready to start recording LP's again. It worked great with my old XP machine. Now I have no input level when I open my Nero wave editor. I don't know where to find an adjustment for audio line in within Vista.
I'm after a program that will log exactly what my computer is doing and how, so if i open a program it will show me "start devmgmt.msc" for when device manager is opened, or something like that, as I am into doing my little batch files (as we all do ) - Does anyone know if a piece of software exists?
I'm looking for a native x64 command line tool that can display the amount of free RAM. It has to be a true x64 tool. Does anyone know one? My google searches brought up nothing. Edit: I finally found what I was looking for. RamStatus is the tool that helped me out.
