Aug 1, 2009Does anyone know of a free spyware online scan, that scans for internet tracking cookies? Is there anything out there? I tried to google, but not sure what was offering?

Free Anti Spyware Program That Runs Well With Vista Home Premium
Jun 3, 2008Need a good free anti spyware program that runs well with Vista Home Premium. I downloaded the bought version 8.0 and began having problems with the computer lagging, and generally slow all over, not thinking it was AVG, I checked every other possible issue that I thought may be causing it. Eventually it lead to AVG, as things had been good prior to installation. I completely removed AVG and everything returned to normal, great! But then I done a further download of the program again, and once again the problems began. Is there a good alternative Anti Spyware program that is recommended ?

4% Free On Drive C : How Free Up Space Make Computer Perform Best
Apr 8, 2009I have a HP Pavillion dv6000 laptop computer. HP Total Care Advisor tells me only 4% is free on drive C. I ran disk defragmentation, disk cleanup, and uninstalled a good amount of programs I no longer use. It did not do anything. Once and awhile I get a prompt in the bottom right corner saying that I have low disk space. When I click on it it wants to run disk cleanup which does absolutely nothing. How do I free up space and make my computer perform the best it can?

How To Remove Spyware?
Apr 6, 2009I have a Vista computer with the following Antivirus / spyware removal programs
- Eset NOD32 v2.7
- Spy bot search and destry
- SuperAntispyware
- Ad aware
- Windows defender
All the software is updated with the latest "definitions"
2 firewalls (1 windows firewall, 1.with the router)
Do I need more software like that to be safe?
I think this is too much software installed to just take care of virus and spyware threats. For it seems like virus is not soo big problem any more. Soo I am wondering isnt it possible to for Microsoft to make something "supersmart" to get rid of spy ware??
Spyware Issue
May 17, 2009Can someone recommend a good spyware program for Vista 64? I've tried PCTOOLS Spy Doctor. It ran and found spyware and removed it, however when I turned the computer on next it had boot errors. I ended up having to work with HP(very good help) and reload Vista from scratch. I hadn't backed up yet, but there was nothing to lose as the computer was one day old, just lost time.

Apr 23, 2008Recently I was infected with the dpevflbg Toolbar. I have Norton 360, Windows defender, and PC Tools Spyware Doctor. This malware got through and I am having trouble removing a couple of remaining issues. The toolbar itself is gone, however, along with the sluggish performance of my computer, I have a banner on almost every web page saying: "Warning possible spyware infection! Click here to scan your computer for spyware and adware" The target URL for the 'Click here' is protect.trustedantivirus.com...with some extra identifying back slashes: MTY4Nzc=/2/5993/ed=1/ex=1/h=10/zheltaya_hernya/ I have searched out removal methods and am unable to remove this extreemly annoying banner:mad:.

May 1, 2009Running Windows XP my cousin ended up with an infestation of spyware and adware after AVG ran out and it stopped updating.I installed AVG 8.5 ran a scan, it disinfected winlogon.exe and then blue screened. After a reboot and another scan winlogon.exe was no longer infected but other files were. It seems to have disinfected them. The only thing left is a popup that comes up everytime IE is started. I can't figure out what is causing it. I ran ad aware - it disposed of a few things but he still gets that popup when IE starts.

Each one runs on a Netgear router and for the first few months I had the Gateway which I bought last December there were no problems. Around August I could get to the start page on Internet Explorer but when trying to get to another website my page loaded half way slowly on my usually fast connection then stopped, no error message no internet conection problem screen, just kept loading but couldn't load any farther. I've tried everything, updating Vista and McAfee, resetting Internet Explorer, deleting cookies and favorites as well as other internet files, scanning for spyware, othning works. Jan 12, 2010I have a HP Pavilion Entertainment PC(32-bit OS). About two weeks ago, I was online when my power went out and my laptop shut down(no battery). It powered back up afterward with no problem but a few hours later when I tried, it would not go online. It cannot find any networks in my area. The message I get is "This computer does not have a wireless network adapter installed and configured." It suggests I install wireless networking hardware and verify the correct drivers are loaded. When I click that(Troubleshoot Driver Problems), it tells me to update the driver through Windows Updates. However when I do that, I'm told that I'm already running the most up to date driver.
The problem is not with my router/ISP. My husband's laptops are online with no issues. I'm not the most technologically savvy person so this is beyond my expertise.

I started getting messages from Vista Defender that my computer was being attacked by viruses, spyware and trojan horses. When I clicked "remove all" they wanted me to buy something. I restarted my computer and I am no longer getting the vista defender warnings, but I can't access several programs like windows media player, yahoo messenger etc.
Also, the icons for these programs disappeared from my task bar. When I try to launch these programs from the start menu I get a message that says "Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item". I'm the only one that uses this computer.
Cant Connect To MSN And Other Online Games
May 15, 2010I have been installing Warhammer Online yesterday to try the game out and everytime i try to install it nothing happens and my computer begins to be slow.
Then today it suddenly worked and i began to play for like 3-4 hours. Then i got a disconnect from the server and i couldnt log on no more. Suddenly the game didnt worked at all and suddenly out of nowhere i cant log on MSN.
Im also playing League of Legends which i cant play either now. It says that im not online and so do MSN. The only thing who thinks im online is Skype which works fine. My internet and connection is fine too alltho i cant go to League of Legends, Hotmail and Warhammers homepage lol. Now i cant check my emails .
Freeze The Online Games
Mar 6, 2009I got this nice new computer for christmas to replace our old crappy laptop but when i game, periodically it will freeze the game for no particular reason this happens on all the online games i play such as: counter-strike(and source), Starcraft, warrock, soldier front, and others
i know for a fact that it is not my internet is not the problem it is very good comcast high speed and i used the same modem on the laptop, where it worked smoothly plus it is not a memory problem. for not only does it have 4 GB of memory, it still lags even when i close all programs, including windows live and AVG in the bottom bar. i can really only assume it is a problem with vista. its sad though, i knew xp like the back of my hand but with vista im near clueless XD
