View 9 Replies View Related1.. I have an HP Pavilion desktop running Vista Home Premium - Works like a gem and downloaded and installed SP1 easy as anything and all is fine.
2.. I have an ACER laptop that I installed Vista Ultimate on and it does all the download updates as necessary and works well.
3.. However, it seems NOT to want to know about downloading and installing SP1 - I have auto update switched on but SP1 never seems to be in the list of updates
4.. SP1 does not show on the summary of laptop either...so I assume it has NOT downloaded and installed SP1,Any ideas why it does not want to know about SP1? The laptop has 2GB of RAM and a 120GB hard disk and a 128MB video card.....
I've read just about every thread about vista not booting and am completely at a loss. I am running Windows VISTA Ultimate x64, do not have the original disk with me as i brought this computer to work on to my vacation spot to do some work. After running a botched program, I got a msg saying the computer would restart automaticly. Having extensive windows knowledge I know this is never a good situation to be in. I am using a windows x64 boot disk that i found from neosmart as I do not have access to the original disk.

I have tried every option in recovery options. Just to clarify, after everything posts, without errors, I get a black screen with a white cursor that moves down a few lines and doesn't do anything after that.......
It might not be the most popular operating system with civilians, but that?s not stopping the U.S. Department of Defense from embracing Windows Vista.Military IT technicians on Friday will start the process of upgrading about 30,000 personal computers used by Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine personnel on the Korean peninsula from Windows XP to Windows Vista, according to an official military publication. I guess I must have been blind when I say Vista machines on a USAF base.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI've heard conflicting reports as to whether Office 2000 will run successfully under Vista. In the hope that they are compatible, I installed Office 2000 and then installed (from the Microsoft site) updates SR-1a and SP-2. Then I downloaded SP3, but when I attempted to install it, I got the message "The expected version of the product was not found on your system." Is there some reason for this, or should I just try again? I looked for, but could not find, a newsgroup that deals with Office 2000 -- is there an alternative newsgroup that would be better for these questions?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have Office XP disks and I bought a new laptop running Vista 64. Per Vista compatibility web - these do not play well together and it is suggested that I buy new software. I have free Office trial software on the laptop and I don't like the new Office product. I thought I saw a note when I searched this topic last week that the problem is with Outlook and Vista 64 (no details could be found from Microsoft web search). I don't need Outlook on this laptop.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI just bought a new laptop and the sales guy tells me I cant use my existing MS Office 2003 software from my XP machine on the new Vista laptop, can anyone confirm this it true.
View 9 Replies View RelatedOriginally, I had Office 2003 installed in my computer, & a trial version of 2007 that had already expired.
Today I installed a full version of Microsoft Office 2007, without removing any of the other two versions from my computer. I realized that it seemed to automatically remove the older version. I`m not bother about it not being there, as I got the new version, but I wonder if this is an automatic uninstalling that Office does, or if the version is still there but I can`t see it, as I would like to remove it properly if it`s still somewhere in my computer.
I checked in Control Panel & the only thing I can see is "Microsoft Office Enterprise 2007", the full version I just installed, & everything that come with it. No 2003 anywhere.
I know you can do this document-by-document by opening each document individually and clicking "Upgrade" or whatever, but is there a way to convert all your Office documents at once?
View 4 Replies View RelatedWell i recently "upgraded" to vista 64, which atfirst i thought might of been a good thing! Which it is, sort of... its such a nightmare downloading all the correct drivers whic are actually compatible and getting programmes that actually work!
Came to download bitlord now that wont work, and i cant install a lot of my girlfriends sims expansions etc.
So does anyone know a good torrent downloader which will work with vista 64?

I have a problem that I am unable to download things. I click download and the bar fills up with blue and it says saving to desktop, but when I click to the desktop, nothing has downloaded. I have tried using 'run' instead of save and the blue bar fills up and it says saving to temporary folder, but then nothing. I can't open e-mail attachements that need downloading or download any thing from the net at all.I have tried several system restores to various different dates and got something to save to the desktop once, but now anything I try and download doesn't download.I have tried running the computer in safe mode with networking but the problem still occurs. I have also tried resetting internet explorer, but again that does nothing. i have tried sfc /scannow , but it came up with no violations or errors. PLEASE do not ask me to download another OS, as I can't download anything!!!!

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have almost completed a transfer of everything from my old XP computer to my new Vista (Dell p6110-Vista64-640HDD-Intel dual core). I am certainly not a power user but when Easy Transfer did not work I was able to move most of my old files to the Vista computer by hand.
I had to copy and paste most of the data, but I realized that I could not transfer programs (expecially Office; Word, Excel etc.). So I did an clean install of Office Student 2007 in the new computer. The install was completed with no errors, but I am getting an error message in Word and cannot always save the files. I am using the old XP files and starting new files. This seems to only happen in Word.
I get the following error message: "Compile error in hidden module AZWizard Modul"
I have tried to reinstall Office but nothing changed.
I have followed the instruction in Office Live to set up my email in outlook. The only problem is that I have Windows Mail. I can receive messages but it will not allow me to send them.
