View 4 Replies View RelatedI have been having some trouble creating folder pictures for my albums and movies. on my old Xp it was a peace of cake doing this, but i can't seem to get it working in vista. I right click on the folder in wich i want the albumart to show, and i choose the picture, and apply the setting but the folder does not change. I don't know if it has something to do with my folder options. I have been searching the net for an answer but there seems to none.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI would like to see microsoft implement a folder structure creator. I have many customer and project and each of them require a particular file structure that is similar. It would be nice if we could have folder structure template OR copy existing one without it's file/document content only the folder structure will be copy. This could be merge with my previous demande to enhance the contextual menu. I could then have new.. folder...process. Chose the one i need and all the folder and sub-folder will be create in one simple operation...........

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have been using Vista Ultimate x64 for more than a year now and this just came up. i realized that i cannot connect to the internet using any x86 programs. my usual firefox 2.0.x would not load any webpage but instead stay on a blank page with the correct address in the address bar. whenever i quit firefox it crashes, and similar thing happens for safari, or IE7 x86. i can only access the internet with IE7x64. i did not do anything between the last time i could access the internet with other programs fine, and the first time i come across this problem. my windows updater is turned off and no updates have been installed during either. and i dont know if this is the same problem, the just-in-time debugger keeps coming up and ask if i want to debug. if i close the window it reopens, and if i say yes a message box says "cannot create appication folder" or something like that.wonder if anyone knows what the problem is? another problem, this one with IE7:since first day using IE7 i have had problem installing plugins to it. everytime i visit a page with a adobe flash file on, IE would prompt me to install the flash player plugin, sometimes twice in a row, while nothing actually happens. same goes for java.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've just tried to create a shortcut of the Music folder by dragging it to the desktop, but instead vista places a duplicate (not a copy or a shortcut) of the folder to the desktop. It gets better, i then decided to delete what i thought was the music folder shortcut located on the desktop and hastily clicked the yes
button to trash it. I'm assuming the file names were too big for the bin, and lost over 1300 songs! I'm just after some answers as to why vista does this? Just FYI, the right way to get it off your desktop is to drag it back to it's default folder.

View 6 Replies View RelatedAll my Windows Vista Business and Vista ultimate laptops cannot save files using Office 2007 to the redirected folder on the Network. I am running native Windows 2003 Active Directory. All my XP laptops work fine. Additionally, I can create and edit txt and rtf files in wordpad. I can navigate to the Docments directory and open Word or Excel files, but I cannot save to the redirected folder. I can save to the desktop and then copy them to the redirected folder.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have several icons/files from my "User" folder showing up in the "Computer" folder (several in duplicate), PLUS numerous blank icons. This seems to have occurred after the Common Files folder became corrupted, after I somewhat riskily decided to power off while Vista was attempting to come out of Sleep mode - it had already taken about 3 mins and I was in a hurry - bad move, I know. That delay appears to have been due to an old version of Online Armor, and has now been fixed (by an update). Chkdsk scanned and (apparently) corrected some errors, and I also ran SFC which said it had corrected some errors but had also found some that it couldn't correct.

For some reason,my Program Files directory has been changed to the Photos directory type, so it changed from the details like file type, size, etc., to rating, photo size, etc.I cannot figure out how to change the directory back to a General file folder type. The toolbar shows things like Slide Show, etc.The sub-directories are all fine and appear as a General type. I'm running Vista Ultimate 32-bit, without SP1.How do I change the folder type back to General?I can't figure out how with this single folder.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have C & D drives, I use D for mundane filesdownloads and portable apps. However, I have a few folders that's are different from any I've seen. I don't know how to explain it other than using a detailed example.
I have D:Folder1
I can rename Folder1 to whatever I want.
E.g it will appear as D:NewFolder
However the dir location of it still points to D:Folder1
I have also scanned the registry for D:Folder1 and D:NewFolder there are no references of it. I've reformatted the C: drive multiple times and reinstalled windows. So I know it's nothing to this specific windows installation (the folders have been like this for about a year) It's not really a problem, I love it because I can rename the folder without messing up links etc. At first I thought it might be a junction, however in cmd it still shows as <Dir> not <Junction> I also checked for hidden folders on the drive. I found nothing.
When I put e.g. documents in my publick folder, do they appear automatically in the private folder too? Do I really need 2 folders to see all my docs in vista?

View 5 Replies View RelatedThis has happened to me before - somehow the folder formats change themselves, eg the documents folder has options along the top like 'organise' 'view''slideshow' and 'burn' ie like in the pictures folder. I found the answer once before in one of the forums, but can't remember where it was. And why does this happen? Also, when I go to 'Help & support" in the Start button, it defaults to Lenovo (my hardware mfg) instead of Microsoft Windows.

View 3 Replies View Relatedhow i can get this darn EZStickyNotes folder to stop returning t oMyDocuments folder every month after i delete it!Also,i found last month an EZListings.BSA that may or may not be related in c:/administrator/appdata/local/temp. This is getting old and i want to know how to get rid of these items permanently. I understand from barman58 in a seperate thread from awhile back, EZStickyNotes folder appears out of nowhere in Documents folder! that the ezstickynotes folder has something to do with a shareware program he gave a link to. How it got there is a mystery to me since i didn't install it, but some program installed it,apparently, and didn't leave any way for me to uninstall it if i didn't want it. I searched my computer for the easy sticky note program, but it isn't on my computer. I always do a scan of my computer with avast, malwarebytes, superantispyware, and windows defender after finding the ezstickynotes folder for viruses, etc and it always comes up clean.
